Our 2024 team has the CB of the 1997 team with DT duo of #2 Harbaugh’s 1986 team plus we have superstar TE & a superstar RB.
I think we should be the favorites to win the National Champions.

What people and commentators are not understanding about 2024 is the 12 team playoff picture. In such a tournament playoff system, and this is waaaay different than the manufactured 4 team playoff system, any team can really win if they get hot and if they have a strategy. Michigan is poised to get into the playoffs, and win it all with defense and their running game. Winning a tournament is very different than what we have been experiencing in college football. To get to that third game you have to be resilient and and strong and determined. To win the fourth it'll all come down to guts. Michigan has that culture. So they have excellent chances to go all the way through.

The delusion of the "culture" and reasons UM was even a contender is naive at best. UM making the playoffs would be an absolute shock. This is a 3 loss minimum team, more likely 4.

Bro how crazy high did that Natty win make you guys! Jeez you have no offense. No starters. You didn’t recruit well last year and definitely are not recruiting well for 2025. If anything I’d be praying to god you guys don’t go back to taking the whoop ass in November every year which is looking more and more like it will probably be heading that way. Michigan doesnt have the same offensive line, they have no QB, your RB wasn’t looking good last year against elite defenses. I think you guys are smokin the copium wayyyyyy too much. Texas beats Michigan, Oregon beats Michigan, and Ohio State beats Michigan hell Michigan state could beat yall.

Nobody thought for a second Brian Griese would QB what if I remember correctly was about a 17th ranked Michigan team to a natty but because they had a good Oline and a nasty defense he did. Well I tend to think we have better QB talent going into this year than Brian G. So why not ? I have this strange feeling that Michigan may actually be better this year than last year. What if Alex Orji ends up being some dynamic freak who has the offense hard to stop. Or maybe these young recievers end up being much more explosive than what we have been used to the past two years. It's possible Davis Warren could be the guy and he does have an amazing arm with great accuracy so I leave it up the the Oline. I'm hearing the Oline could be just as good as they have been. If that's the case and we get the type of defense I'm thinking we are going to get which will be hard to score on than this team may shock the college football world and I have a suspicion they will. It's not at all because I'm a fan because iv only had this feeling for one other Michigan team and that was the 97 team. I had a suspicion that 97 team was going to be sneaky good and they were amazing. I didn't even think last year's squad would win it all but this year I feel like they will be right there again. They probably won't be undefeated just because the schedule is tough and it's possible they have a slip up because it's tough going undefeated but they will get into the playoffs and get to the Natty game. This squad is going to have alot of people talking that's for sure

I think people dismiss Coach Moore too quickly, and his ability to manage a game. I also think Michigan played its number 2 & 3 starters way more than any of the other teams last year. They are deep and know how to develop. It’s next man up. That includes the coaches, who have been proven. Coach Harbaugh sat out half the regular season. This is a team that has been , and will continue to be, player led! I don’t know if they will go 12-0 , but I think they do beat Texas. I do think they will make the playoffs, and maybe even take The Big, but it will be them and GA in the championship. You want to be the man, you gotta beat the man! BET. They will do great things this season too! Michigan vs Everybody! Go Blue! 〽️

Dear God! What planet are you from? If you think Michigan can't win in Sherrone Moore's 1st year as head coach because Nick Saban couldn't do it at Alabama, or any other coach you mentioned like Dabo, just remember... Moore has been with this team since 2018. He knows these kids. He recruited and molded this offensive line to be an atom SMASHing machine. He developed each one. He ran the offense. It's not new kids, personalities, faces. He is scalp deep in the creation of this assault weapon. The plays are not new. The kids are not new. It's next man up. Mike MacDonald and Jesse Minter LEARNED this defense from the wizard running it now. Wink may be new but the scheme is the same. We WILL feel some effects of losing Harbaugh, but he molded it to be a seamless transition when he left. Moore was his replacement in training and to my eyes Harbaugh couldn't has selected better. Even the Strength coach replacement was a protege for 6 seasons. Michigan improved it's personnel on D this year. Defense travels. Away games at oSU and Washington that will be key. QB room has dual threats in Orji who rushed for 5.5 yards average vs Bama and 11 yards a pop vs. oSU. Passing wizards in Davis Warren, Denegral, and the kid who backed up JJ AND Michael Penix, Jr. That's right 7th year Jack Tuttle was the back up to both national championship teams. We have QBs and they don't need to learn a playbook. They have plenty of experience and talent to read and take apart a defense. O-line next man up. Upperclassmen with plenty of playing time. With our DEEP running back room featuring Donovan, Mullings, Orji, and EVERYone else we will SMASH and grab yardage at will and pass when we fancy. Speaking of the passing game, TWO of the best tight ends in the NATION. (Klein may end up being better than Loveland in his career) And our wide receivers are plenty fast and shifty. (Just ask Alabama about Fredrick Moore and Semaj Morgan.
So my take is we will be PLENTY experienced, talented, and determined to win Back to Back. Last year we beat the team that beat Georgia and the team that beat Texas. IMO, the country should FEAR US!!! Not the other way around. Losers always think they will lose. Champions always think they will win. I am sure we'll be the team to beat this year. BACK TO BACK! GO BLUE!!!!

Ohio state fan here. Great analysis! Michigan is probably the hardest team to predict preseason in the country. I think they could be 11-1 or 8-4. I don’t think they need to be Iowa to go 8-4 with the schedule they have however they get most of the big games at home. I will definitely be interested in the first 4 games for this team. If they win all 4 of those I think they already at worst made the playoffs.

Another championship would be without historic precedence : Comparing Michigan's 2024 Challenge to Historical College Football Teams
Michigan's 2024 football team faces an unprecedented challenge with a returning production ranking of 128th out of 134 teams. Michigan's situation is uniquely difficult.
    1. Ohio State (2014)
    • Returning Production: Ohio State had considerable turnover from the 2013 team, losing several key players and their starting quarterback, Braxton Miller, to a preseason injury.
    • Outcome: Despite low expectations and significant challenges, Ohio State won the national championship, driven by exceptional coaching from Urban Meyer and the emergence of players like Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliott. This serves as the closest parallel to Michigan's current situation.
    2. Auburn (2010)
    • Returning Production: Auburn had a moderate level of returning production but was significantly boosted by the addition of Cam Newton, a transformative junior college transfer.
    • Outcome: Auburn's national championship run was largely due to Newton's Heisman-winning performance. This scenario is less comparable unless Michigan finds or develops the unique impact of a single player like Newton.
    3. LSU (2019)
    • Returning Production: LSU retained several key players, including Joe Burrow, who had a breakout year.
    • Outcome: LSU’s success was driven by Burrow's historic season and strategic offensive innovations under Joe Brady. While LSU had some turnover, the returning production was bolstered by key retained players, unlike Michigan's extensive losses.
    4. Clemson (2018)
    • Returning Production: Clemson had high returning production due to strong recruiting classes and the emergence of new talents like Trevor Lawrence.
    • Outcome: Clemson's national championship was fueled by consistent high-level recruiting and stable, effective coaching. This scenario highlights the importance of depth and development, which Michigan will need to replicate despite their lower returning production.
    Michigan's 2024 Challenge
    • Players Drafted: Michigan lost 13 key players to the 2024 NFL Draft, including stars like J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum, and Kris Jenkins.
    • Returning Production: Ranked 128th out of 134 teams, indicating a significant loss of experienced talent.
    • Historical Comparison: While Ohio State's 2014 team provides the closest historical parallel, Michigan's extensive turnover and low returning production make their situation without true precedent.
    Path to Success
    • Coaching Excellence: Sharone Moore’s adaptability will be crucial in developing new strategies and effectively utilizing the remaining and new talent.
    • Breakthrough Performances: Identifying and nurturing standout players who can step up, like Ohio State’s 2014 season.
    • Effective Recruiting and Transfers: Bringing in new talent to fill the gaps left by the departing players will be essential.
    • Strategic Innovation: Implementing new offensive and defensive strategies to play to the strengths of the current roster and mitigate the impact of low returning production.
    Conclusion
Michigan’s 2024 team faces a steep climb to another national championship, facing unprecedented challenges in terms of returning production. By leveraging strong coaching, breakthrough performances, effective recruiting, and strategic innovation, Michigan has the potential to overcome these obstacles and find success.
