Years ago my mom tried to talk me into joining the main branch in Tennessee. I’m glad I didn’t. They keep to themselves, and not much is heard about them. I’ve seen quite a few of the videos, though. I was a former member of straitway in 2011. I said in my testimony that I felt weird vibes from dowell as if he was trying to take me from my husband, then his attack dogs including rufus said that “some women believe that all men want them”. dowells mannerisms, and his wife’s body language said otherwise. In October 2011 when my husband was finally leaving he met a guy name Eric Gonzales that brought his wife Nelly and 3 children(2 boys, 1 girl) to stay on the land until he came back from a 1 year deployment. I checked and saw that dowell made a video interviewing the man’s wife(sister Nelly’s testimony) I immediately said to my husband “you know he’s not getting them back”, because I sensed that dowell was looking at other women that his wife. He started preaching polygamy after that. I was right because Nelly(Eric’s wife) became dowells 2nd wife. So what I was sensing was 💯 correct. I was there from April-July 2011 and left because of all the double standards and weirdness I saw while i was there.

What he’s preaching is not of God. He is twisting the scriptures to meet his wants and needs. His anger that caused that bruise will bring the wrath of God down on him. He allowed anger to hurt his child. God does not say to punch your child in the face. The rod in the Bible is a switch. A mere attention getter in my opinion (believe me, I know), not a vicious beating. The rod is not an excuse to beat your child. In fact, now that this dad has shown his dominance and given his son a black eye, he very well may have turned his son away from the Lord. On that note..dad has invited the wrath of God to his doorstep no matter where he goes.
