    Oh sophie, I'm so sorry about your experience in PYM. You're absolutely correct, it doesn't matter whether you have an allergy or not, if you've been told it's vegan it should be vegan. The attitude of guest services was poor and the chefs either are poorly trained or even worse, don't care. I'm so sorry you went through that.
    On the flip side of the vlog, your reaction on Orbitron was the mirror of me on Dumbo. Scariest thing ever! 😂
    Hope you're OK. X

      Hi Frankie! Thank you so much for your kind message! It is worrying that, like you say, the chefs either aren't being trained properly or don't care and neither is great. It does make me worried about the other restaurants and how sure can you be they are preparing things properly.
      OMG I went on Dumbo at night and totally felt like I was tipping out of it! Orbitron is basically Space Dumbo! 😂

    I feel really sad that they were so wrong at Pym kitchen. You should never be served dairy if vegan whether you have an intolerance or not! So sorry they didn't take you seriously and you had an awful reaction.

      It is such a shame that the buffets are marketed as being good for people with allergies or vegans but in reality there is so little you can eat it is definitely not worth the money! And so bad the chefs are giving out incorrect info!

      It is such a shame when the drone shows are cancelled due to the weather! I also went in March and every night they didn't happen! It's so hard because they don't do the Marvel show in the summer as it wouldn't be dark enough but in the winter the weather is so unpredictable!

    Oh Sophie, I'm so sorry about your experience and I know we've spoken about this before but you were 100% correct - this shouldn't have happened and its really disappointing. I know you said emailed them but I hope you got a decent response and some sort of resolution. I do wish they took this more seriously but has definitely put me off buffets even more so, I was already a bit wary with the limited options!
    Just wanted to give you a hug! I know how devastating it would be if it happened to me so I totally understand.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for all your kind words when it happened and now! It definitely isn't up to Disney standards! I ended up in a 5 week battle with them and eventually contacted the President of DLP. They were more responsive but Disney have never apologised or acknowledged the fault. They did offer me a buffet with no vegan options as a goodwill gesture which was funny 😂 But really I wanted them to take the issue seriously and work towards training their staff. I have been so shocked to hear so many people have similar experiences and I think seeing as Disney now owns DLP they really need to work on making this much more like the US parks.
      It's so true the buffets already have limited options and it has put me off visiting them! You definitely don't get your money's worth as a vegan but I think if I did go I would always check the allergen menu now!

  • @rach1832

    It broke my heart to see you having such a lovely day then watch it get ruined. So disappointed that they didn't take your complaint seriously too. I stopped eating meat when I was 7 (not far off 30 years ago now!) and still vividly remember a few times I've accidentally eaten meat due to mistakes/wrong labelling etc. - these incidents are so upsetting aren't they! I try to avoid ordering the new super realistic meat replacement products in places that also serve meat because I just don't trust people anymore.
    Against my better judgement, I do have a reservation at Pym later this year but at least I know what I'm up against as a vegan and will go in with very low expectations (I love Ant Man and can't resist the theming). Thanks for sharing the experience! Loved the vlog as always (just not when you were upset x)

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much Rachel for such a lovely message! You are so right! Even if it is unintentional it is so upsetting to consume animals! I am also weary of faux meat meals in restaurants if they have something similar on the menu too as I worry they will mix them up!
      My top tip for Pym is to check the allergy menu and not rely on the chef and staff. The allergy menu should always have the correct information so that is the best place to know exactly what you can eat!

    I do love your films and enthusiasm for the parks. Sorry to hear about the PYM Kitchen experience and felt for you back at the hotel opening up about it. We've just got back and the whole allergy experience is not great. I am so shocked at your experience at Walt's! I am so sorry that happened to you! Disneyland Paris has such a long way to come in regards to allergies and I really hope they do put the research and effort in. There is such a stark contrast between dining in the US parks and Disneyland Paris with dietary requirements and I hope that as Disney now own DLP once again they will look to improve this! Thank you so much for all your kind comments! Apart from the Pym Kitchen experience it was such a fun trip but the last day was a bit of a damper as I did end up ill!

      @voiceoverguyharris ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MostMagicalGuides Yeah I agree. Can't wait to take her to WDW as I know it will be better. Yeah the service in Walts was not good either. They begrudgingly did a main course for my daughter that was free of allergens. It was as though they were punishing us. Service was slow, had to wait ages for drinks, no spoon with the soup, Luke warm soup and general couldn't be bothered with us. Even dumped a bag of bread on the table which was Gluten free as it was allergen free. Then said I had to open it which I had to saw through with the main course knife. Even Princess Dining was the same now I think about it. So rude about allergens even leaving the bread on the plate with the pumpkin soup which i said 'can she have this??' to get the reply 'no!'. So why put it on the plate?? Arrrgggg. The park is great but service for allergens not good.
      Who can you complain to though? I mentioned it to Mickey Mouse at the character dining but he wasn't able to respond. Oh, Plaza Gardens was good with the allergens. Albeit very slow service.

      @@voiceoverguyharris It will be so incredible to have a family trip to Disney World! What amazing memories you will make together! I am so shocked to hear how badly you were treated at Walt's! It is totally unacceptable! It is awful they also put bread on your daughter's plate that she cannot eat! It is so lucky you checked. I would absolutely email a complaint to Disneyland Paris. I think they need to be made aware of what is happening in their restaurants in regard to allergies and dietary requirements. Sadly it seems all too common for people to have bad experiences. Hopefully if they keep receiving complaints they will see there is a big issue they need to address. I ended up emailing the president of Disneyland Paris and within an hour had a phone call to speak about the issue.

  • @doodles3075
    @doodles3075 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I'm really angry with the way your complaint has been delt with Pyms.
    There was another TH-camr who's child was verbally abused in Pyms by a male waiter. He actually caught it on video but they refused to let him leave unless he deleted it.
    When he complained to guess services they asked for evidence, because he had deleted it they took the waiters side.
    Just about to cancel our reservation with them because of this.
    Im also vegan for some reason Disney/ french don't seem to take it as seriously.
    We did Downtown last time because of the vegan burger which they didn't have. I was offered a fish bun instead. Most of the other food was either covered in butter or cheese.
    As we are a family I have to eat when they do at what ever buffet/ table service. I basically eat about €5 worth but have to pay over €40+ each time as we go half board.
    We had a very bad experience in the Lucky nugget a few years ago. Orderd 2 vegan burgers, my grandaughter kept saying it tasted like meat. I told her to stop being silly as I had the same... felt physically sick when I realised she had infact been given a meat burger. I've been a vegetarian for over 41years a vegan for 3, she had been a vegetarian for 4 years at this point. We only got a gabbled apology.
    She actually ended up with a food phobia after as she became scared to eat just incase.
    Please put a formal complaint in with Disney, its made you poorly. If this had been an allergic reaction the out come could of been fatal

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am so so sorry to hear about your horrific experience at the Lucky Nugget! Your poor granddaughter! And the fact that she ended up with a food phobia (which is totally understandable) after it is so awful and exactly why these issues need to be taken seriously so they do not happen!
      I totally agree that in France there is a lot less understanding of what it is to be vegan or vegetarian but I think Disney need to train their employees because when you are a destination visited by people from all over the world with different dietary requirements you need to stick to them when you tell them you do cater for them.
      I am totally with you that the other buffets you pay so much for so few options, and often they are just sides as well. It is wild to me they will market as having vegan options but in reality there is hardly nothing and totally not worth the cost. I think they either have to make a real effort, like in Disney World, or not cater for people at buffets but direct people to the table service and quick service restaurants that have actual options.
      So shocked to hear about the Pym Kitchen incident too! I've never had an apology from Disney and it very much seems like if they don't acknowledge an issue occurred then they can deny all responsibility. It is so frustrating because you just want them to take these things seriously. It only takes one person with an allergy being given bad information for them to be in deep trouble so I do think they need to train their staff better both with food education and attitude towards dietary requirements.

    I’m sorry to hear about your experience at PYM Kitchen. This is totally out of order. From someone who has recently had to make a complaint to Disneyland Paris for other reasons, my biggest tip is to not give up and keep pushing them. You shouldn’t have to do that but they don’t give in easily. It took me a week of back and forth emails and asking to speak to someone more senior before I finally got acknowledgment of the issue and compensation.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am so sorry you had to complain to Disney too! I do always find it ironic that people compliment Disney's customer service but I always find if you ever have a genuine complaint (which thankfully isn't often) their customer service is awful! I am so glad you persevered and had the issue acknowledged and compensated! I did end up speaking to lots of different departments before contacting the President of Disneyland Paris after 5 weeks of battles. They've never apologised or acknowledged that the chefs cannot be giving out incorrect info but did offer me a goodwill gesture of a buffet which had no vegan options which was hilariously tone deaf! Sadly since then I know a friend who was given meat and again fobbed off so I do hope they take food complaints, and all issues people encounter at Disney, more seriously!

    Aw Sophie I was crying with you I'm so sorry. I am not vegan but I absolutely understand what this meant to you and it is unacceptable. Especially as I'd been loving how happy and excited you'd been the rest of the trip. I love Disneyland Paris but their guest service can be a little (or a lot!) under par, especially when you compare it to Florida. Once checking into my hotel in Florida it wasn't ready until about 30 mins after check in time and they gave me a $100 dining credit and profuse apologies and I hadn't even said anything about it being late as it didn't really occur to me I was just excited to be there. At DLP one cast member punched another cast member who fell onto me and he continued to scream and shout and... nothing! I do understand the CMs were also in schock but didn't even ask if we were ok or take our details in case they wanted witnesses etc. However, I've still got 3 upcoming Disney trips booked so I obviously still love it!

      It is so awful to hear you saw a cast member punch another - but sadly you are not the first person I have heard this from! There is definitely a lot of training that needs to go into certain roles in DLP!

      This is a perfect question as I think it is something lots of people would like to know! If the park closes at 10pm, the final entry into a ride queue would be 9.59pm. The fireworks at Disneyland Paris always happen at park closing time.
      It is worth noting that Fantasyland closes early to prepare for the fireworks but you can totally enjoy Frontierland, Adventureland and Discoveryland until park close.
      The shops on Main Street do stay open for a while after the fireworks.
      I also really recommend waiting 10 - 15 minutes after the fireworks finish for the crowd to die down so you can get the castle shots with no one in them!

      I never had a refund, even though I spoke to the restaurant, guest services in the park and emailed guest services when I came home. Eventually I did email the president of DLP because I felt they just weren't taking the issue seriously. They've never apologised or really acknowledged this is an issue. Ironically they did offer me a buffet with no vegan options as a goodwill gesture. 😂 When I explained how that wasn't really an option they did give me some meal vouchers for my next trip, but really the main point was that they need to train their staff and chefs better as I just hope that will happen because it does make me weary of dining at DLP. I definitely will not be going back to the buffets!
