Vivo is such an underrated company. Definitely considering to get this smartphone even though it's a mid ranger. It sold me on its Camera performance. Just wow! Amazing to say the least. Coming from a Galaxy S9+ user.
It's underrated in your region but hugely overrated in my country, they sell overpriced crappy midrange (with the exception of this X50) product while other that sells a better value doesn't get as much success as they deserves
Just bought the X50 Pro here in Bangkok yesterday and it was equivalent of approx $700. Used it a an Electric Car show both indoors and out, worked great, built-in gimbal smooth as silk (used 1080p/60 & 4K/30). However, tried super wide and as Josh pointed out only noticed after, it defaulted back to 1080p/24... Other than that, love this phone, my new main vlogging device. Oh and no hiccups or lags with the snapdragon 765G, very fast and good.
Imagine what the camera could do with an SDM865? Shiiiiiiiii, boi. But this stabilization is what android needed and hope to see it in more phones. Video cameras have always kinda been behind iPhone, but no more.
Wish the pro+ version was made available outside of China. Great video as always 😎👍 Looks like a fantastic phone, maybe even the best with the midrange sd chip
What I don't like about phone cameras is that when you swing the camera left to right you can see the frames skipping roughly.. and so far every flagship smartphone now is still having that issue.
Both oppo and vivo have 5x optical phones. Now this gimble lense on vivo. I bet we'll see at least one of these cams on the oneplus 8T. The low-light photography is really good, true flagship-level quality. Legit innovative tech👍
Unboxtherapy footage looks a lot smoother than yours! Any ideas about how normal footage compares to footage that has gone through an app like Deshake?
Hi Joshua, need your help... I dunno whether to choose X 50 pro or Samsung S20 FE 4g here in Malaysia.... Both around RM2300 - 2500... Based on your experience, which camera is better? Please help... Thanks
Can you provide the thickness of camera bump on x50 pro? I'm curious since it uses 48mp sensor and the thinnest 48mp phone is 8.5mm including camera bump
Hey Joshua great video ! Which fighting game were you playing at the beginning of the video ? Any guess on price I've seen it for 1200.00 from importers.
Then if this not good, other even worse, take a look at Arun's video from MrWhosetheboss about this phone and you'll see how much better it actually is compared to full on flagship (main camera specifically)
Love the video, respect. I'm just curious here, I got my oneplus 6, had it since the beginning and when it was first released it was SUPER stable, like if you go online and check out the first 4k 30fps video's, they were too stable/robotic, when I look at the new phones these days, I don't see a difference, an improvement, is it just me? Like this from Recombu th-cam.com/video/Zdi4hOAxkDY/w-d-xo.html Lots of blocky artifacts in low light, I was hoping with a gimbal that you can take longer slower shutter speed shots to soak up more light as well. I dunno. The low light video, now THAT is impressive. I'm looking to upgrade and OnePlus is just too damn expensive in Canada, the OP8 is selling for $1100, $100 more than the OP7 pro the year before, it's getting crazy now, but this phone for like $800cad? not bad at all! Stay safe!
Did we watch the same video? In other comparison videos X50 beats iPhone 11 pro's video capabilities in low light. iPhones were ahead of its Android counterparts in the video capabilities for a long time and this changes everything. This phone would've been a real deal if it came with SD865.
Take a look at Arun's video from MrWhosetheboss about this phone and you'll see how much better it actually is compared to full on flagship (main camera specifically)
No,most of them are not sponsored, they just given this phone from Vivo and ask to do a review and talks about the Camera, I'm saying most of them because there could be someone actually sponsored to make a video about this
Well it's a different type of OiS, you know manufacturers likes to name things on what they "invented" also, it handles stability on not just 2 axis (x and y, or vertical and horizontal movement) but also the 3rd axis (z axis) which translates to compensating sway or when you're tilting your phone
Ezra Pardede ah this makes sense! Didn’t think about the z-axis. Interesting! Based on Jv’s review it seems to be very gimmicky here because the sensor and image processing are not that great, but I imagine this will be awesome when used on flagship phones or even an updated firmware
I don't know y your ppl just zoom like zooming to watch what others are doing in balcony ... Be practical apart from that gimbal hype nothing is worth the price ...

Great choice
I have the s20 ultra but dam this phone looks more beautiful!!!

JV is the only tech vlogger who did not exaggerate how effective this "gimbal" camera is. That says a lot about reliability.
Also he actually went though the phones features, and not just the camera
MrWhosetheBoss did a nice review on this phone
Idk the gimbal is very effective in certain situations. While running, night video, low light photography etc.
Seems like one of the biggest benefits is low light video. Interesting for future products.
Imagine what the camera could do with an SDM865? Shiiiiiiiii, boi. But this stabilization is what android needed and hope to see it in more phones. Video cameras have always kinda been behind iPhone, but no more.
There's a pro+ with exactly that but only in china
Scrap that the pro+ doesn't have the gimbal
@@ScreenOnTimeYT Yeah Ben just released a video, the low light video using the wide angle is AMAZING! No gimbal though.
Wish the pro+ version was made available outside of China. Great video as always 😎👍 Looks like a fantastic phone, maybe even the best with the midrange sd chip
Just found out the pro+ doesn't have the gimbal. It does have sd 865, 120hz refresh, megapixel bump up on all cameras ect
The stabilization is Just really awesome compared to any Smartphone
Great vid JV! Always loved your vids and will support you all the way!
His Voice is fantastic. Best in TH-cam tech.

Really like the time being in the middle of the status bar
Unboxtherapy footage looks a lot smoother than yours!

And the thing i appreciate about your video is the word real world camera test .
Vivo X50 Pro +, please !!!
It's the true flagship with the new Samsung GN1 big camera sensor !!!
Bigger sensors doesn't necessarily mean better! The Gimbal is so far the best innovation this year is in a smartphone.
That sensor is still smaller than what Huawei P40 has
Hi Joshua, need your help... I dunno whether to choose X 50 pro or Samsung S20 FE 4g here in Malaysia.... Both around RM2300 - 2500... Based on your experience, which camera is better? Please help... Thanks
which is good ? iphone 8plus or this x50 pro? help me plss ?
This is a beautiful device
It is simple, i just enjoyed while watching this presentation about Vivo Pro (midrange) 😉
It's really helpful for low light be it still shot or video performance
Joshua check "super steady OIS" from Samsung galaxy S10 lite. NOT "super steady mode". It also has upto 3° stabilized sensor.
Which version is the phone? The power adapter looks to be UK style so maybe for Malaysia? (or is it actually coming to the UK?)
Can we appreciate the fact that we can watch TH-cam videos up and above 480p since 4months.
Well I'm happy with 360p coz my ISP is awful. Third World Problems. So be grateful.
@@yajson I am grateful hence I've written that in the first place
Please suggest which phone should I buy honor 30 Pro plus or Vivo x50pro plus or the MI 10 Pro
2:03 Ghost Of Tsushima
Can you provide the thickness of camera bump on x50 pro? I'm curious since it uses 48mp sensor and the thinnest 48mp phone is 8.5mm including camera bump
Lol got a TCL phone ad pre-roll, Vivo aint gonna like that 😂
Vivo forever the pacesetter.
Expect the Huawei, Realme, Mi, iPhone, Samsung et al bandwagon effect.
Check "super steady OIS" from Samsung galaxy S10 lite. NOT "super steady mode". It also has upto 3° stabilized sensor.
Wow the phone I want .amazing I love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Great video as always 👍👍
Wow!!! vivo is first gembal camera

Operation Succeeds!
Ur new daily?
Compare it to best camera huawei p40pro please 😄😄🤘
Strange that only LG devices include a 'top 5 complaints' for unboxing and first impression videos...
Great video. This smartphone is something fresh with this rotating camera.
Its stereo??
no, mono speaker
Hey Joshua great video ! Which fighting game were you playing at the beginning of the video ? Any guess on price I've seen it for 1200.00 from importers.
The video quality was not good.I saw there was some whitish colour during shooting video, though the camera has hyper stability.
Then if this not good, other even worse, take a look at Arun's video from MrWhosetheboss about this phone and you'll see how much better it actually is compared to full on flagship (main camera specifically)
I bet downgrading it to 1080p mode would vastly improve its video quality
Wow wow,i wish i can afford!
Good
The Australian version has the snapdragon 865
You're looking fit Josh
It's low-light performance is actually decent and workable! The "flickers" in day-light is kinda weird though.
Love the video, respect. awesome
Imagine putting that phone on a gimbal...
Josh got the first dibs with this video!
what are "dibs"
Nice
Vivo X50 Pro "gimbal" camera is just hype. The overall quality of the video camera is no better than a mid-range phone.
Did we watch the same video? In other comparison videos X50 beats iPhone 11 pro's video capabilities in low light. iPhones were ahead of its Android counterparts in the video capabilities for a long time and this changes everything. This phone would've been a real deal if it came with SD865.
to me it looks just as stable as an iphone se 2020
Take a look at Arun's video from MrWhosetheboss about this phone and you'll see how much better it actually is compared to full on flagship (main camera specifically)
The legend of Joshua Vergara the Travelling Tech Reviewing Messiah
(This should be the description of this video 😂😂😂)
Nice 👍🏾
Share its apks
It looks so cool hhh
I like the phone but i prefer iPhone to support my Stock
Vivo is a Great company, but the OS...hmmmm
Dissapointing that there is no sd card slot...limits phone
You want a steady video? Just get a Sony phone, great stabilization even with only eis
Funtouch os! Sorry man..no go
I don care fcking basic camera.i just want to see it manual mode.what does it have
Autofocus problems
sponsored?
No,most of them are not sponsored, they just given this phone from Vivo and ask to do a review and talks about the Camera, I'm saying most of them because there could be someone actually sponsored to make a video about this
To me, it looks like the phone's video is overexposed.
5 years from now, apple will successfully pioneer just one more thing... A gimbal camera on the iPhone XVI Pro Max Ultra Plus.
giveaway please 🥺
gimbal camera is MEHHH its just a marketing strat.
10:28 is that the ps5?
Isn't this just proper in-body Optical Image Stabilization? Why are they calling it a gimbal?
Well it's a different type of OiS, you know manufacturers likes to name things on what they "invented" also, it handles stability on not just 2 axis (x and y, or vertical and horizontal movement) but also the 3rd axis (z axis) which translates to compensating sway or when you're tilting your phone

poor video. shaking. your make it or phone suck. 11 :00 -end clip?.
Not so
No 8K 60fps
Still a gimmick
4K isn't even commonplace in most homes yet, why do we need 8K now?
8k itself is a gimmick
U dummy, even 8k is a gimmick lol
I don't know y your ppl just zoom like zooming to watch what others are doing in balcony ... Be practical apart from that gimbal hype nothing is worth the price ...
Even samsung A7 2018 HAVE FAR better steady video than this so called Gimbal.
1st
HAT Phone cuz doesn't durable phone😡Almost Chinese phone is low quality 😀
poor exposure, I still find another cheaper phone thats better than this in terms of camera and videography
Take a look at Arun's video from MrWhosetheboss about this phone and you'll see how much better it actually is compared to full on flagship (main camera specifically)
