This bike rips i picked one up a few days ago and i fell in love has a ton of power from top to bottom end. Apparently it is 3 horse powers less then the weakest 450
Anyone had sensor issues when the bike gets hot it starts back firing and wont rev past 1k rpm after half hour of hard riding they stop working mines doing my head in
ready to buy a 250 four stroke. been riding 125 two stroke for a while. I'm a novice rider. Im stuck between yamaha 250f and honda crf250r. any opinions would help. thanks
+b More dont go with the honda unless u want anyone and everyone to beat you they may be reliable on startups and might be almost indestructable but ur not gonna get the power you want ur 125 smoker will have more power go yamaha i love my yzf the throttle is snappy which is what you wants unless your just riding some trails slowly anyway just saying definitly go yamaha
last time i checked i was 5'3, is this a good bike for me, i know the kx250s are big and if i get that i need a lowering link that will cost over 100 dollars, but yea, is a yamaha yz250f good and reliable?
Yes the yz250fs are very good and reliable if you take care of them and but the 2015 and the 2016 are practically the same thing the only things that are different is the graphics and the 2016 has over 100 engine upgrades so yea I can't wait to get mine in May
im looking at this one, its a yz250f for 2000 dollars, so when we get the money, imma try to go get it, i was looking at kx250f's but they are really high, so imma try yamaha to see if they are really good, and it looks powerful, and thats what im wanting, but thanks for replying back i aprreciate it
+Sacrifice195 Np bro but the only problem is that buying a used 4 stroke is like a grenade u won't know how long it will take to blow up my friend on the other hand bought a 2010 kx250f and it blew up 4 times so be carful bro and good lick
ok thanks for the tips, it looks like the guy has taken real care of it, it said it was only used for trails, no racing, it looks brand new, and he has a bore kit on it so now its 269cc, but yea, thanks bro for the comment back and the tip, it really means alot
+ronskilad Well, can you ride a 2 stroke? They're much more difficult to handle because all the power is in the higher rpm's. If you want power on demand, id recommend a 4 stroke. If you want a lot of power at one time and dont mind shifting every other second id recommend a 2 stroke.
40.61 horsepower at 12,100 rpm. Check out motocrossactionmag.com/bike-tests/yamaha-tests/2014-mxa-250-four-stroke-shootout-crf250-vs-kx250f-vs-250sxf-vs-rm-z250-vs-yz250f for all of the main 250's.
+Balla squad I got one when i turned 17. I was about 5'8 and it felt pretty big on me. As we all know, adjustments can be made to make it better fit you, but no mater what you do it will still take a lot of getting used to. You need to spend a few hours a day just put putting over small obstacles and making small slow sharp turns, really taking it easy to just get a feel for how the bike wants to balance, its short range power, and all in all, make sure you can handle a big bike in those situations. I took mine to the track the very next day I got it and did fine on the track, but i remember crashing at least twice in the pits because i was unfamiliar with the bike
Odds say you've never ridden a bike if you have to ask this so no, a 250f is too big for you. Plus it's stupid for a beginner to get a new bike. 1 you're going to ruin it learning how to ride and 2 you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 2015 and a 2005. Just get a nice used 125.
Hey, I have a question, I am 16 years old 5'8 140lbs and I have never ridden a dirt bike but would like to purchase one, I have been riding four wheelers all my life but would like a change could anyone please give me info on which bike would be a good choice for me, I am looking to purchase brand new. Thanks.
Honestly doesnt really matter what brand of bike its really like pick a color and just run with it, also if you are going to invest in a bike & you are a beginner id recommend a 4 stroke they are alot easier too learn just my opinion coming from a 15 y/o kid who rode 2 strokes up to my last year on superminis which i rode a 150f the 4 stroke was easier and i would say a bit faster, so for you my friend i recommend a 250f & like i said really doesnt matter which brand ,as all bikes perform at a gr8 level
ahah, is it making you the winner in each race just because you have a ktm ? I dont think so, ktm is not bad for me. in the other hand, yamaha are the closest brand to ktm this year, i never seen the shootout of this year and i know they are. what do you find theses bike gays? the look ? performance ? reliability ? explain :P
Keep using this test rider!! Great stuff!
Soooooooo glad Yamaha got rid of that gawky, ridiculous long muffler from previous models. This bike is beyond gorgeous.
Jeeeeesus!! You rippin on that bike!!
I have always hated Yamaha but damn this bike sounds and looks great
They are now being recalled LOL
For what? Or are you joking? ^
David Green I don't hear any recalls
+David Green I own one. No recall. No problems after 107 hours
This bike rips i picked one up a few days ago and i fell in love has a ton of power from top to bottom end. Apparently it is 3 horse powers less then the weakest 450

Getting a new bike next spring, so far im leaning towards the yamaha over the kawi cause kawi hasnt updated its frame
How much will it be in Australia

Even in this year Yamaha still rocked it.
Anyone had sensor issues when the bike gets hot it starts back firing and wont rev past 1k rpm after half hour of hard riding they stop working mines doing my head in

im looking at this one, its a yz250f for 2000 dollars, so when we get the money, imma try to go get it, i was looking at kx250f's but they are really high, so imma try yamaha to see if they are really good, and it looks powerful, and thats what im wanting, but thanks for replying back i aprreciate it

yes
SsichzZ oh yeah great bike for you bro, im 5 foot 8 135 and I have a 2017 yz 250f and race 250A arenacross and 250B motocross

I had this bike when I was 210 pounds and I'm 6ft. Thing was more than enough to get me in trouble. Amazing bike.
How tall should you be to fit on this bike
5’11 if you really want to be comfy but 5,8-6’3 should all fit
That dude is shredding that track.
are both forks spring?
Yes
Joaquin F thank you
I am 14 and 5'4 could i fit on this bike properly? Or would it be to big?
No
+Ronnie Vick how About you start on an 85 stop rushing to get on a bigger bike learn to ride that than try a 125
+Ronnie Vick i would say go for it or a kx100 would fit you best either way just take it easy until you learn how to ride good

Would you recommend yz250 or yz250f?
+ronskilad Well, can you ride a 2 stroke? They're much more difficult to handle because all the power is in the higher rpm's. If you want power on demand, id recommend a 4 stroke. If you want a lot of power at one time and dont mind shifting every other second id recommend a 2 stroke.
