I really enjoyed this insight into Kazutora! Have you read the Tokyo Revengers Extras? The first and second are about Kazutora; the first is how he met Baji and the second being how Mikey gained Kazutora's loyalty. I wrote a few points down for my thoughts on it, but would love to hear yours/anyone interested (should you wish to share).
*Spoilers for the Extra v. 1 &2 and some of the manga later on*
We learn that Kazutora was abused by heavily by his father, and neglected by both parents. He both resents and fears his father because of it. His father always blamed his mother when there was something 'wrong' with Kazutora, and I think is this plays out in his maladaptive coping mechanism for Shinichiro's murder. Seeing his father lack accountability and blame the victim, made it natural in Kazutora's mind redirect blame to Mikey (one of the victims). Along with the whole gamut of things you talked about in your video. He's also pretty manipulative too -- using Baji's guilt as something to also bring him to Valhalla. I don't blame him though; it's all that he knows. And the betrayal he felt when he thought Baji (his first and only friend in the Valhalla arc) probably hurt so much all he felt he COULD do to cope is to get rid of the object causing him the pain.
The tragedy and hope with his character is to show that you can be pretty messed up by the people who are supposed to care for you, but you CAN change if/when you take accountability and make the effort to change. One of the themes in TR is found family, especially for children whose family so desperately failed them. Fitting into that narrative, Kazutora, once released from his 10 year sentence, is picked up by Chifuyu and offered a chance to get back on his feet. In another timeline, he even works at Chifuyu's pet store.

Tiny rant aside, I do hope you make more videos for Tokyo Revengers. I think there's a lot more nuanced discussion that can be had on the psychological impacts of trauma and violence, especially of the variety we see in TR. Subbed and can't wait to see your future content. :)

I honestly didn’t even know about the extras! I’ll definitely check them out! Thanks for the insight! I really enjoyed and agreed with it all. I really like the “floored” aspect yet heroism shown in Tokyo Revengers. Coming from a background similar to gangs and manipulation, I’ll definitely work on more vids about the show! I can’t wait for next season cause Mitsuya is my favorite character aside from the GOAT Mikey!!
Who should I do next? I think Mikey should be saved for later, around the Tenjiku Arc. I’m thinking of Baji or Pah 🤔

@@Sincerely_Will Yes! Next season is going to be bomb! Mitsuya and the Shiba siblings! They’d be fun to explore too.
Honestly Baji and Pah are both good options. The Extras might help you out:
      Extra 3 - Mitsuya, Peh-Yan, and Pah-Chin from outsider’s POV
Extra 4 - Pah-Chin’s childhood (?), how he met Mikey, and how he met his wife (/j it’s unconfirmed sooo…)
Extra 5 - Chifuyu and Baji adopt a cat… but separately.
Extra 6 - The formation of Toman
As for what to do next between Baji or Pah-Chin, I think Baji would net you more views than Pah-Chin, but I’d prefer Pah-Chin because I’d like to see more content about him. But at the end of the day, make content that makes you enthusiastic about TR haha.
Personally, characters I think would be interesting to dissect are the Akashi family (Senju, Takeomi, and Sanzu), Haitani brothers, and Kokonoi/Inupi. Of course Mikey too, but he’s a whole can of worms LOL. Honestly, with TR, you can throw a dart and any character you land on has some level of complexity/purpose in the plot.
Either way, hope you have fun! 😊

@@Im_Nier Vids on the way! I honestly made this for more of a "When I feel like it basis" but since I found an audience that actually wanted something like this I'll def make another TR vid! I want to do psychological analysis vids of other anime as well!!
