    Major Brady Energy for Stroud. What made Brady special wasn't the accuracy, etc. He always found completions for positive yardage and avoided mistakes. Big time game for Stroud despite what the stat line suggested.

    I don't know if they do this all season, but that Colts D-line outplayed the Texans O-line all game. They get the Packers next week, so even without Love, we'll probably see if they're the real deal. Meanwhile it doesn't get any easier for the Texans O-line, facing the Bears next week, so they need to get it together.
    Even with the D in his face all game, CJ was able to hold it down, and at points thrive. The only real scary play was the one where he short-armed the throwaway and the only thing that kept Indy from getting a circus catch on the sideline was about an inch of chalk.
    CJ definitely still had some rust, which he's got to get rid of. He had two picks called back, the one above by sheer luck and the other where the defensive player only got the pick because he pretty obviously held. Those calls likely don't go the Texans' way against the Ravens, Cowboys, Bills, or Dolphins, and definitely not against the Swifts.
    A win is a win, but this was not pretty.

    • @jacke89
      @jacke89 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It was less the d-line and more the Colts blitzing a LOT. This cut doesn't show it, but they paid the price for that giving up 5.7 YPC to Mixon. The Texans OL was handling them in the run game and most of the pressure was from blitzes

    • @ericparker163

      The first game or two is really an extension of the preseason. I expect that things will in improve, this is amazing coaching staff and players that will execute. That throw to Nico on 3rd down to convert and seal the win, was ridiculous. You know a guy is special when they can have a game that isn’t their best or things aren’t going the way they need, but in the critical situations can still overcome that and make an ELITE pass right on the money to win it. That throw couldn’t have been placed any better or that DB would’ve gotten a finger on it, or Nico wouldn’t have been able to get his knee down in time. Special.

Both DeMeco and Slowik said CJ talked about plays they could incorporate, but the two coaches insisted on honing the fundamentals of their scheme--"the boring stuff." Is this a joke? 3 50+ yard completions is a good season for elite QBs. They are great, but more random or luck than anything else. AR has used up most of his for the year and still lost. Let that sink it

      AR is so inconsistent. Yeah he hit on some deep balls but he flat missed on so many mid range and short throws all game. Not surprising though as that’s who he has always been. He has a long ways to go.

    I know prophetic statements get clicks, hell I guess that is why I'm here, but this is the NFL give it some time before you start putting a crown on the kid. The kid is playing well and he is certainly ahead of his development schedule, but is he Elite (Top 5)? No, there is not enough evidence to make that claim because all you need to do is go back to the last game last year when he played awful (which is understandable because its a process)
