Designing a Turkey Call in Carbide Create

- I have had the ambition of creating a pot turkey call on my @Shapeoko XXL CNC for quite some time, and I finally saw the perfect opportunity. I used some scraps from a walnut cutting board and glued up a 5” blank. In this video, I’ll take you through my process for using Carbide Create to design the pot call.
Here are a few places that you can pick up sound boards. There are plenty more around, but here are a couple.

Nice video. I have made numerous Turkey calls on my Shapeoko CNC. My dimensions are slightly different and I lower the center pedestal to incorporate an internal sound board. Other than that it's the same idea. I like the way you reduced the time to cut. I'm going to have to try that next time. The CNC opens up a whole new level of design possibilities as compared to making them on the lathe.
Thanks a lot! It's something I've been very interested in for some time. I still have a lot of work to do to figure out the sound board, but I have an idea.
which shapeoko do you use?
What kind of cnc router do you have to make the pot calls?
I have a Shapeoko XXL. I only did one, but I’d imagine it would be pretty easy to batch several at a time.
Could you work up a box call file?
What dimensions??
Can we get the code for your pattern
Hello Eli. What program are you using to design?
While I enjoyed your tutorial on how to make the call, I feel that you went to fast for me and others to keep up. It would be nice if you had this in a step by step paper form that people could order.
