I Tried Geoguessr with Apple Streetview! (New Mod)

- In today's video, I'm trying out a new script that allows you to play Geoguessr with Apple Streetview instead of Google Streetview. Not only does Apple coverage have no car meta, but it's also already quite extensive and a decent replacement for Google's offering. Enjoy the video!

Apple’s Look Around is great quality! It’s a shame that it’s got the distorted shape on this map, but on iPhone, Mac and iPad it looks really nice.

I can’t think of any type of meta that is as owned by 1 player as the red roads for you, obviously you have thousands of other strengths but I think it’s really cool that you have “your” meta, when anyone says red road they think of you

I'd say that's closer to gen 2 than gen 3 quality wise

Too bad for the french round on the 21K. With these bollards I would have definitely insta sent a France guess and the road looks kinda pinkish so I would have sent near Dijon which would have been a good guess I think. You really were close to a super score
Interestingly I saw the Apple Maps cam car driving around the small town in Kansas where I live several years ago and the coverage has never been accessible in Apple Maps. It’s as though they drove the U.S. only to release very little

It would be scuffed as hell but a version of this with Mapillary would be super interesting, most images are basically NMPZ only (not 360) and it'd need to be hand-curated (lots of inaccurately-placed images since it's user-based) but there's coverage in tons of places that Street View and Apple Maps don't have coverage. Plus scuffed-ness can be fun lol
How does Apple, an American company, have more FINNISH random road coverage than American Highway coverage? This makes no sense to me, even Canada you can see they drove on the highways.

I think the distortion is just the way the mod is displaying the images
5:50 Given you mention neighboring countries in the EU, there is of course a chance you had a driver who crossed the border. Even more when you only see one plate.
I suggest you to try Yandex street view, I'm sure there are maps for that.

I actually just tried the map on geoguessr web based on my phone, and the locations look stunning, unwarped, and have no car blur or anything visible, I also have an android and no script enabled, if you make another video on this you could try using your phone
the fisheye lens distortion is very prominent. i wonder if Apple will correct that eventually. competition is good!

I don't like the distortion on there, makes the quality irrelevant. Street view is still way better right now. Same goes for maps, I much prefer Google maps for finding locations on a map.
That’s just because of how it’s exported to PC. In its native form it’s super high quality and the car is almost invisible!
@@mattf9019 that may be, but as long as it can't be native on PC, as a non-Apple user that's useless. Fact is that the implementation right now is too unstable for me.
