Vendors at airports can not charge a certain percentage above the cost of an item called street pricing. You may ask someone at the airport what is their street pricing policy. You may not get the truth, but it is worth asking. I hope your voice gets better. My sister says when I lose my voice, I sound like Mr. Bill from Saturday Night Live (from the 1970s).

@BalancedFlyer, I can totally relate to your rant about businesses charging tips for things that are not necessary. I don't understand it. usually when I goo to a sit-down restaurant or take a Lyft, I tip well. Getting a coffee from Starbucks or some other place like that, I don't see the need. I've heard others talk about this topic before also, and most agree with my thoughts on it. I'm glad to hear that you feel the same way. I hope things are going well for you.

The reason for the insane food cost at the airport is because California Governor Newsom just sign a bill giving fast food workers a $20 an hour minimum wage. The insane price reflects the increase in employee minimum wage.
Right now in California McDonald's is charging $18 for a Big Mac, imagine what it will be when the new minimum wage kicks in.
