    The 24-105 EF was my absolute favorite lens, whether on my 7D Mk II or 1DX Mk III. I finally decided to move to mirrorless earlier this year (got an R5 and R6 Mk II), and just a couple of days ago took delivery of my f/4. As I expected, it's a really nice match for either Rx camera. It's a versatile, all-around good lens that gives excellent results in a variety of different situations. Given the price point (and much greater weight) of the newer "Z" version of the lens, the f/4 was a complete no-brainer. Actually, I'm not sure I've ever met anybody who didn't love the 24-105, whether EF or RF!

    This has been my workhorse since the 6D in 2012. Its an amazing lens. Quality is mostly on par with the RF version. Still using it on my EOS R for commercial work.

    Great lens for versatility. Not the world's best optics but its GOOD ENOUGH. Mine was a mere 200 bux for the mark 1. The 40mm 2.8 is my favorite EF lens, however.

    • @kieranperk
      @kieranperk  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mikafoxx2717 40mm is something you don't tend to hear much about. What made you choose that over a 35 or 50mm?

      @kieranperk In my opinion, 50mm 1.8 didn't focus well on 5D mark I (Classic) but 40mm 2.8 did well. And it is cheapest lens near 35mm in canon I think.

      @@phillesfan98 To be completely honest, autofocus has definitely been a huge upgrade for me with this lens. However I presume with an R mount, yeah it would be even better. Might have to move onto that system one day...

      @@kieranperkI have a few RF lenses myself (70-200) and have rented a handful of RF lenses. The autofocus is definitely better on the RF lenses, however, I would hope that lens that go for 2K+ have better autofocus. The 24-105 still has very very good with the R6ii and great image quality!

    Pair it with cheap 50 f1.8 and you are done. If you can stretch a budget pair it with 35 mm F 2.0 IS and you are good for video work with image stabilization when is to dark for F 4 lens.

      also what i would say is that you say it can have the same focal as the nifty fifty however the main appeal of the nifty fifty is the low aperture, still a great lens though

      @ yeah, i think sigma has a much more expensive 28-70 f2.8 so thats definitely an all round lens when combined with a 70-200 or 100-400
