honestly, I feel like kpop has come so far so fast it's amazing. 100 million was legendary & there was barely 10 mvs with that many back then.... now it's just going around breaking records & even rookies getting 1-2 mil in a day.

streamers ruin these kinds of lists a bit imo, they make classics drop out way faster than needed, and great songs from groups with smaller fanbases will never make it on here :(

Tata Bitha streaming isn’t only youtube views sweetheart. Streaming can be on MeloN, and other music streaming sites that count towards streaming. TH-cam views are not everything and just because a group has 100+ million views on their music video does not mean that the song/artist is automatically amazing to everyone that listens to it, it just means that they are famous. Also... it really isn’t important, it’s just kpop it’s not like your life depends on it
Yeah i know that streaming isn't only on youtube. But u have to think bout it more, youtube is the largest video channel in the world ,if we stream our idol mv and made the MV popular it will make our idol mv being Reccomended to non kpop fans / other kpop fandom. ashley Imo every view counts, as it is a bit more money for the artists and breaking records is great to gain attention, but at the same time, there's tons of artists who are successfull without having a lot of views, so while I don't think views don't count at all, I hope people stop stressing themselves so much over it. As an ARMY I see a lot of people in my fandom get discouraged when we don't meet our goals or YT deletes a lot of our views, and I really wish instead of getting sad over that those ARMYs would look at all the other great things we achieved already...

Any fans from the 2nd generation of kpop (Big bang 2ne1 snsd shinee, suju, etc) don't be sad about their songs leaving the list. Firstly kpop isn't about views. The new gen of kpop fans just stream and stream instead of enjoying what their artists put out there Secondly we don't need views to prove the achievements of the 2nd gen. We already know that it was that generation that pushed kpop to be international, they played a big part into shaping kpop into what it is now. If they didn't then the third gen of kpop ( bts, blackpink, twice, etc) would probably be at the level of popularity of cpop and jpop. Anyways I love all kpop groups they all work hard and are amazing both the older and newer kpop groups.

I have a lot of love for second generation groups also and respect the monumental contribution they have made to the hallyu wave, however suggesting that third generation fans are unable to enjoy the music produced from groups as opposed to second generation fans seems a bit condescending. Second generation groups proved themselves in every way that was possible in their height of success, and those achievements are still recognised today and very much speak for themselves. However, the market is rapidly changing, and TH-cam views now mean something much more than they used to do. In a lot of cases, third generation groups do generate more views than first or second generation, rightfully or not, and as a result these fans will celebrate what shows a growing market for kpop internationally at the current foot of third generation idols. I consider it a better use of second generation fans time to talk about sales and idols’ recognisability to the public as testament to their successes than demeaning the importance of TH-cam views. Any fans from the 2nd generation of kpop (Big bang 2ne1 snsd shinee, suju, etc) don't be sad about their songs leaving the list. Firstly kpop isn't about views. The new gen of kpop fans just stream and stream instead of enjoying what their artists put out there
Secondly we don't need views to prove the achievements of the 2nd gen. We already know that it was that generation that pushed kpop to be international, they played a big part into shaping kpop into what it is now. If they didn't then the third gen of kpop ( bts, blackpink, twice, etc) would probably be at the level of popularity of cpop and jpop.
Anyways I love all kpop groups they all work hard and are amazing both the older and newer kpop groups.

I have a lot of love for second generation groups also and respect the monumental contribution they have made to the hallyu wave, however suggesting that third generation fans are unable to enjoy the music produced from groups as opposed to second generation fans seems a bit condescending. Second generation groups proved themselves in every way that was possible in their height of success, and those achievements are still recognised today and very much speak for themselves. However, the market is rapidly changing, and TH-cam views now mean something much more than they used to do. In a lot of cases, third generation groups do generate more views than first or second generation, rightfully or not, and as a result these fans will celebrate what shows a growing market for kpop internationally at the current foot of third generation idols. I consider it a better use of second generation fans time to talk about sales and idols’ recognisability to the public as testament to their successes than demeaning the importance of TH-cam views. To conclude, you seem lovely, and I hope my comment didn’t come across as aggressive because kpop fans have such a power to create positivity- thank you for taking the time to reply- I just think open conversation is really important
