I like VB but to be honest, this 'empowering women' movement seems to gone backwards a hundred years. Empowered women don't get their confidence from their looks or how groomed they are - that reduces us to being pretty things again. Confidence to take action and change your state - succeed in your life etc. What you are wearing doesn't make you a better version of yourself. I'm sorry but it just doesn't. That state of being is pure superficiality. Fashion designers should really just be honest and say - I want to make beautiful clothes for women to wear. That's it.

Well done Victoria for making a successful transition but in contradiction to what she says, it is about the celebrity. It's amazing how celebs can wake up and become designers whilst thousands of unknowns have to fight the BS of the industry to get a look.
I definitely agree with you that a lot of celebrities who are already in a position of power have greater opportunities to expand into fashion and design even though there are more talented designers who aren't getting recognized (a great example is Kanye West). However, I do think Victoria has an eye for fashion and I think this has been her true passion... Even when she was in the spice girls, she was really into clothing and fashion/design. I think she's good at what she does now and she genuinely loves doing it. Other people, however, such as Kanye... I don't think his collections are good at all and I think he just decided he wanted to get into fashion because he thinks he can reign in every type of industry and he was able to do so because he is already in the limelight. There are definitely designers with more talent than him who don't get the opportunity he has.

Victoria used her celebrity, hustled with the Spice Girls reunion tour to get her name out in North America, and used all that to give her the chance make/market/sell quality stuff that people want to buy because it's great. People came for Posh Spice celebrity, but they stayed for Victoria Beckham's clothes.
If she really wants to empower women through her fashion, then why not stepdown or make a segment that would level or be at par let’s say with Zara’s TRF section? So that more women can afford her clothes and not just those who are in high society, like what others say in here, who are already empowered..

The apparently bulimic/ anorexic models should be "empowered" as well. I do not believe Victoria is a racist, but all I can see is white women on the runways. The price tags are too high to empower anybody -but already empowered people (but that's just the fashion industry). That's nothing innovative to me, but rather harmful to the youth.
I dont like her.. very very bad..together with all these decadent and only rich people. This don't impress me.. the more the media pushed this people, the uglier are these.. I avoid the products and services of global player..
She has worked hard for what she has. Is that what you don't like. She works with charities and is a successful person. Go Victoria keep working and enjoying what you do.
