"But, they actually try to keep a balance between being good and being lawful. Which is something that quite a lot of other metallics actually struggle with." *side eyeing bronze dragons*

I read that as Booze Dragons.

Preparing to roleplay a gold dragonborn sorcerer with gold draconic bloodline, that will also study magic. This video is really helpful.
He was brought up to hate dragons, as the enslaved would hate their enslavers, but he questions the notions that all dragons are evil, and upon his arrival in the sword Coast he made it his goal to seek knowledge about dragons, and explore the power of his ancestry to gain knowledge and learn as much magic as possible, while studying dragons - secrets kept from him or otherwise shunned by his people. He is an exile from his clan, but the pursuit of knowledge drives him. Are all dragons truly evil, or is there a hidden truth to his ancestry? And what matter of power can he discover through exploring this endeavour?

in the later editions Wizards messed with the balance. Originally Chromantics and Metalics were evenly matched. In the Red vers Gold debate golds were greater spell casters while reds were more physically gifted.

I kind of prefer it this way. It leads to who wins being up to circumstance. Which i guess you could say is true for almost everything.

I liked it in 2nd Ed. AD&D - the golds were always higher hit-dice and masterful spellcasters, but reds were far more vicious. Silvers and reds were close. :)

@@kepler3654 yeah the golds had a higher hit die, reds had more total dice. What tended to happen was golds were far more powerful spell casters while reds were a greater physical threat. Silvers were in no way a match for a red. Hence why they tended to get their little orders together and lead armies to take down reds. The chief advantage metallics usually had was an ability to form coalitions. indeed during the second rage when the cult came forward a copper got a bunch of chromantics to kill a particularly powerful green by using their own mistrust of each other against them. The thing I hate most in newer editions are the cultural retcons. Reds are excellent and highly protective parents with both the male and female often spending up to a century together raising their young. Only the white dragons abandoned their young.

thats a tough one, I love them both for different reasons but I think I have had some better moments and storys with chromatic dragons, although gemstones might be taking their place for me.
