Hello, I Pens fan from Eastern Europe. Lindros - excellent hockey player. He be able to play tough, and he played so. But, he played hard and clean, he not send people to hospital. It big difference to play hard or to broke people. Sad , what players like Kasparaitis, Stevens and other nasty guys played dirty, and many great hockey players be injured by them, including Eric Lindros too. I always love to watch Lindros, so much talents in one player, I remember what NHL analytics called him “complete package”. Eric Lindros - the Legend! 🙂👍
I remember my dad bought season's tickets for the Oshawa Generals' games in 1989. They had just acquired a 16 year-old kid named Eric Lindros. He was a target for opposing teams, initially, but as he proceeded to destroy player after player in hits and fights, word got around quickly. A superstar in-the-making who didn't need others to protect him. My favourite player of all-time, he wasn't destined for a long NHL career with his style of play. But, man, the physical dominance was unreal. Cheers.
i’m a rangers fan since i was 7 years old now 59 , and let me tell you eric lindros is absolutely one of the greatest hockey players i’ve seen , had it all power speed , hitting and fighting , if it wasn’t for this concussions and back issues he would be near the top of all scoring
@Pete Yup sadly hockey has become so soft it's criminal. You can't touch anyone any longer, a slash and you're in the box..Bettman and rule enforcement ruined this great game..Cherry is awesome and his pal through him under the bus the wimp ass..I have to watch youtube vids now to see games from the past..I played mid 80s minor pro here in the states, I cannot tell you how much fun it was and to see this today it just makes you cringe..I love the speed the talent etc but let them play the game man, enough with these ticky tacky calls, it's horrible
he was a savage hitter!! but eventually every dog has its day he abused Scott Stevens until that final hit where Stevens buried him... ironically Stevens is suffering from concussion related issues now... but i think they are friends now...?
@@johngnanamuttu708 He won the first 11 rounds against Stevens and then got TKO'ed in the 12th. Seriously, watching someone rag doll Stevens is impressive. Stevens gets the blame for ruining his career, but that point he was already out a year with a concussion from Kasperitis. That probably would have ended most careers now that we understand CTE better. Lindros had about 6 "concussions" at that point. In reality he probably had 30+. I'm sure he gave himself some mild concussions over the years with some of those hits he laid.
THE ONE ever. А нам, признаем мы это или нет, остается лишь только ждать и надеяться, что когда-нибудь на лед выйдет подобная мегазвезда....
Every fan of Eric Lindros thanks you for this tribute. I often look back and realize just how selfish I was. Eric would get hurt or get a concussion and I would be upset because he wasn't playing. In retrospect, I guess it would have been better for everyone if he had taken the right time to come back instead of wanting to satisfy fans like me and go back to play much to early. Please, put Eric's #88 in the rafters where it belongs and also in the Hall of Fame. Thand you once again. Jim
I couldn’t agree more! Seeing goalies wear it today and even just other players wearing it drives me nuts and will forever. Patrick Kane! Disgusting…… the man gave his life to Philly and was as humble as they come but once released on the ice, there will never be another like him, EVER.
The badest, meanest, biggest SOB to every play in the NHL. I have followed the Flyers since the Bobby Clarke era when I was a kid playing pee wee hockey. Being a diehard fan and watching Eric play was the highlight of my life. When he played I couldn't wait to get home every night to watch the game. Unbelievable talent and skill. He was the entire package. The guy had to fight different players every night!! The Flyers have not been the same since he departed and they never will be. Thanks for the awesome memories Eric.
Aaron Kohn No, we will not. Once in a human history type of a player. He was blessed with more talent than Wayne Gretzky, let alone anyone else. Eric easily matched Gretzky in those elements of the game that made Gretzky put up the most points in history of the NHL. Yet, Gretzky could only dream of the unprecedented elements of versatility that Eric was able to make the part of his game as a power forward, which are elements that will have been and will have remained above and beyond any other hockey player's abilities.
Man, watching this brings back SO many great memories...having been able to see Eric Lindros play for Philly...and just the way he was a beast on ice....huge man and fast as the wind.....what could have been.
ghytgb yeah that's the nature of the beast in the NHL that you will get as good as you gave " wise guy" Eric Lindros doesn't have to take a back seat to anyone and if it was a draft straight up I'm picking E Lindros over Scott Stevens every time all day long !
Lindros and the Legion of Doom, especially LeClair were the reason I got into hockey. Lindros had it all, size, power and skill. He was a truly dominant player.
@@gtxjhcrbq You've commented the exact same thing on multiple comments... We get it... Doesn't take away from the fact that Lindros was a monster. Should find a hobby bud cause getting buried in the comments ain't it.
@@rayquinn2767 you sound like you really don’t know what you’re talking about. Someone his size should not skate that effortlessly and well. The only player to be in the Canada cup before playing in the NHL at 18. 3 points 5 goals in 8 games. Just saying!!! You can’t ever take away his skill. A short career and still had legit numbers. I will forever be a fan. Since I was 8 him coming to Philly at the Spectrum, you have no idea the decibel level that it was in that place. He was absolutely hands down the most exciting player to watch and changed the NHL at the time. Can’t even watch the soft shit today! It’s awful! Bet a lot of the whinny Philly fans would love these years back. Cause todays team is a nightmare. Lindros was unbelievable and I love him ❤️
@nicolehusser6656 his skill lol 😆 didn't you see him flat on the ice with multiple concussions lol skill my ass he's a whining little tit I don't want to play there I don't want to play here if he's so great he'd have his name on a couple of Stanley cups 😄 but he has nothing but migraine headaches for the rest and his life 😅
I'm here 2019 after Cherry firing, These hockey feeds are coming up on TH-cam for me. Don Cherry would be so proud of this, and Eric Lindros, Where has Hockey gone?!?!!? This is the glory days of NHL hockey. It's so sad what's going on in this world. The Metallica kills it, amazing. I wish I can go back and relive the begining1990ties over again in Toronto with Hockey and baseball.
This is great, brings back so many memories of being a teenager and watching Lindros dominate every aspect of the game. When he was healthy, there was nobody better. He brought a blend of size, speed, skill, and toughness that was never before seen and hasn't happened since. If injuries didn't plague his career, the Flyers undoubtedly would have won a Cup, and who knows what kind of numbers he would have posted.
@@BaldHeadedManc for a good 5 years he was a men amongst boys. It was great hockey to watch. These people have no clue how great hockey was back then and much harder to score.
truly a great video, Ive got 2 Lindros jerseys and always admired the job he did for the Flyers , He never really got the credit he deserved. No wonder her had so may concussions, man what a brute...lol.....GO FLYERS !!!
AGREED! totally the best times ever as a Flyers Fan! Incredible Lindros was! will most likely never be another player like him again... we were lucky he played during our time! By far, the most entertaining player ever! EVER!!!!
yet ignorant fans claim Eric was a bust and Forsberg was WAY better, Lindros was worth that trade and it isn't his fault we didn't win a cup, if we had some good goaltending we definitely would of won a cup in the 90's.
Sportsaholic4life If you guys still would’ve had Forsberg you would’ve won a cup you ignorant Wretch!!! I was only going to use two exclamation Points but that deserved a third.
Most dominant power forward I have ever seen. If he was a head hunter he would have killed someone. He was as close to the perfect power forward as you could get.
Love him or hate him. Eric Lindros was an incredibly exciting player to watch!! If Eric was skating up ice with the puck at full speed, he couldn't be stopped. Miss this rough and tough era of the NHL. Todays game pales in comparison.
It's a joke that Lindros isn't in the HOF already and is still waiting, as for the game yeah I miss the fighting and the overall badass mentality we used to get, but at the same time I actually think the game is smoother and faster than ever today, I don't miss the red line shit and the goofy two line passing, and I think it's much safer too, too many guys getting destroyed by headshots and it being legal.
Erica Martinen Doesn't have the stats?? Lindros had 865 points in 760 Career games was a Hart trophy winner in 1994, 6 time NHL all Star among other awards. Now let's compare that to Forsberg a guy that got in first crack this year. Forsberg had 885 points in 708 career games, was a hart trophy winner once just like Eric, 5 time All star, Calder trophy winner. If Forsberg is in then so should Eric.
Maniac With Mop Yeah I looked up Gillies' numbers and he had a really good career and was a winner but nothing spectacular either, so yeah if someone like Gillies is in the HOF is a joke with a guy with as an amazing statistical career as Lindros still waiting for a call even with how short his career was due to injury, however it did take Gilles several tries to get in, I think Eric has a good shot at getting in next year but we'll see.
I know he’s career was short an injury’s got to him. But still my favorite player of all-time!!! No one was a beast like lindros nobody!!!! He’ll score 4 goals in a game 2 fights an 20 big hits. Lindros was unreal!!!
The best package of speed, skill and power I have ever seen. Many of these hits would today warrant suspensions/fines but so many hits were him protecting himself against incoming hits. Funny how they all ended up on THEIR arses....
It's amazing to see ERIC LINDROS' induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame be met by such overwhelming support from the most highly regarded N.H.L. Analysts like Bob MacKENZIE, John SHANNON, Damien COX, Don CHERRY, Ron MacLEAN, Nick KYPREOS, Pierre LeBRUN, Pierre McGUIRE and Doug MacLEAN as well as former Players/Teammates like Mark MESSIER, Steve YZERMAN, Mario LEMIEUX, BRENDAN SHANAHAN, Chis CHELIOS and Keith JONES. Quite a tribute to a Player, Man, and his N.H.L. Career.
As a lifelong Flyers fan...man, I miss watching this guy. Big E was a monster on the ice. Still my favorite player of all time, it’s just a shame about his concussions and never winning the Cup. I’ve had a #88 jersey for probably 25 years now. I’ve always waited for another player like him to play for the Flyers, but it hasn’t happened and now the game has changed. I thought Forsberg was gonna be similar as I loved watching him too, but it just didn’t work out.
paulie98vr6 same here and it's so hard to believe that era of 88 and Flyers hockey has come and is gone ! What happened ? Time goes by so fast and I yearn to watch 88 all over again as a lifetime Philadelphia Flyers fan.
Lisa Moreno I’m all for player safety, but it’s just so different these days. I think we play too conservatively and need to just go out there and go after the other team. It’s more about defense and the team just doesn’t have that many big, physical players now. But if we’re getting wins and 2nd in the division with playoffs, I’m all for however they play lol. Used to be Flyers and playoffs were almost a given. I know they’ve always come up short, mainly due to goaltending, but nowadays playoffs are who knows. Vigneault has done a great job as coach this year, hope we can do some damage when the playoffs do happen.
Lindros would go into your town, score a hat trick with a pair of assists and beat up your 'enforcer' all in the same night! He could do it all.... Unfortunately his physicality resulted in a shortened career.
I'm a flyers fan so he is my favorite ever Def would a been in the top one a few great players that could lead his team in goals assists over all points penalty min fights and hits
Avid hockey fan since 1973. Lindros was the most talented, the most fun to watch. The clutch and grab systems, illegal for the first 100 years of hockey, became commonplace and were designed to protect teams from Lindros. Shortly after his demise, obstruction interference was re-implemented. Not an irony, a conscious decision by the NHL brass. He was a marked man as the Flyers have been a marked team.
@@won8135 Ok sure, Lindros was not the reason clutch and grab became a thing, it was a thing long before and after him. The refs just did not call those as much and they let a lot of that go, granted at some points teh calls where made but alllowing obstruction in the form of hits away from the puck, clutch grab etc was around and used for years thats what led to all the brawls. I know I played high level through the 80s and it was on all levels growing up pee wees bantams midget etc etc
@@michaeljoseph8674 Well, I played myself, fairly well and beyond h.s.. Holding was called as was interference, particularly when dumping and chasing. The types that were let go were the less flagrant fouls, the type of interfering that lasted half a second, considered incidental, and not all the time. Referees could be very strict. The types of interference and blatant holding that became the calling card of the n.j. Devils and others to follow was much more extreme and would have been penalized in 70's, the brawl era. The devils would grab and hold up a player 20/30 feet from the puck, and not for a flash like in earlier times but for the duration the player was forechecking. Now everyone can have an opinion, mine yours, they do not matter much. What I experienced and what you experienced playing or viewing are somehow different. Doesn't matter. The rules WERE changed. "Clutch and grab" was different than earlier times. Thats why it was defined as such. The goals per game dropped by nearly a full goal per game during the 1994-2006 seasons because of it. Fact. Forcing the league which was losing interest because of slow, sluggish play and low scoring to institute The goalie area, trapezoid behind the nets, where he could field the puck, and strict enforcement of holding and Interference, both reinstated to original intention after the lockout. This gave rise to smaller, faster teams effectiveness ie. The blackhawks teams. Over time the league found the game was getting ridiculous with the constant parade to the penalty box for minor penalties, and softened its stance on holding and interference, but NEVER, back to "Clutch and grab" levels prior. These are facts. I do not care who or what you blame it on or whether you believe it happened at all. Doesn't matter. The "Clutch and Grab" era is recognized by all. Irrefutable. It is generally dated between the years 1994 and 2006. It is always mentioned in conjunction with the N.J. Devils and their championship team. Facts. Lindros was viewed as a malcontent and the league promoted illegal tactics( Clutch and grab) during his tenure. Facts. They did away with said tactics as Lindros' career ended. Fact. That's more than enough evidence for me, whether or not you believe it doesn't matter. I too was there, and I too played and witnessed what happened. I'm not going to attempt to rewrite history, revisionist style, because of a disdain for Lindros. That's obviously why you came here. Again, doesn't matter. He's still the best I ever saw despite the hatred and dishonest play that effected his career.
Size, speed, skill and nastiness. Lindros had them all and was a lethal player and so much fun to watch. If only he was able to keep his head up better.....
The most physically dominant "skill" player ever. Loved watching him play...was heartbroken at the way his career ended. His jersey should be retired in Philly - if it wasn't for him, the Flyers would've remained irrelevant for a long time and Snider's arena would never have been built.
Became a fan of Lindros as soon as he entered the league and when the North Stars moved to Dallas at the end of that 92-93 season, I became a Flyers die-hard. I don't care what anyone says, he was one of the baddest, meanest guys on the ice who also had incredible skills. One of the most dominant players to ever lace em up. Clearly a HOFer whose number should be retired by the Flyers.
Say what you will about lindros entire career and his dad vs flyers management but I would take Eric first 8yrs in this league over plenty of HOF cats in a heartbeat. He was box office. He gave hockey that cache only NBA NFL MLB players get. Shame we was before his time. Had he came to the flyers in 2001-02. He would have blown up in the blossoming social media era. He had unique skillset and was a marketing dream. Tall masculine and attractive.
Would rather see Lindros play than Gretzky any day of the week, it's hilarious seeing people call him soft even though he endured abuse without protection and took matters into his own hands, shame head hunters like Stevens ruined his career.
Damn...cool video! I'm Boston born and bred and of course a die hard Bruins fan but, I forgot about what an absolute beast Lindros was! Seeing the Crazy 8's line again....brings a tear of joy! Guys like Gretzky, Lindros, Yzerman, Neely, Lemieux, and Jagr, .....80's-90's the grand days of NHL!
Impressive collection. The guy was a unicorn in the sport. Also had the biggest target on his back than ANYONE else in the games history. Sidney Crosby has no idea what it’s like to have the entire league want to kill you before you ever stepped on NHL ice.
biggest target on his back than anyone in the history of the game? LOL. too bad thats nothing more than fan boy nonsense. every star in the league from its inception had guys coming after them. i would venture to say more players hated ken the rat linesman or claude lemiuex than lindros. unlike crosby lindros had no idea what it was like to skate with his head up which is why his career was cut short by concussions
@@ogieoglethorpe3788 I don’t remember saying he was hated. And yeah he did have the biggest target. Everyone wanted to have him as a notch on their belt for knocking out. I never said I was a fan. Being hated is a different subject. He was the biggest player in the league in notoriety at the time and one of the biggest physically. Dale hunter was hated because he was dirty. Claude lepuke, etc. do you think Scott stevens takes more pride in taking out barnaby or lindros? You miss the point
He was the enforcer, the physical forechecker, the playmaker, and the finisher. Unfairly labeled as a choker because he never won the Stanley Cup, but looking at these clips of crappy goalies and team mates, it's clear that he never had a chance. Just look at how the dude played. This is the best Lindros compilation I've seen on TH-cam. Thanks for posting!
great video man! i grew up watching the Legion of Doom era while my dad got to grow up and see the LCB line! he got to see two cups and was actually in the spectrum when they won it in 74. it's ashame the Legion of Doom never got to lift the cup but nobody can dispute when they were on the ice they couldn't be stopped!
Love the video. The most dominant power forward to ever play including Neely who is a personal favorite. And Lindros was better. I don't get all the hate. Controversial. Yes. Great player. Yes. Tough. Yes. Dished it out. Absolutely. Punished by his reckless style. Sure. But there's no question that Lindros is a Hall of Famer. He was way over a point-per-game thru '99-00 concluding his Flyers career before the trade with the Rangers. PPG in Year 1 here. Put him in.
His controversy was really uncomfortable for the NHL as it never to deal with "divaism" before. In the other big 3 its not uncommon to have a representative dictate where they want their client to play. At first glance one could make the argument of similarity with him and cam but Eric was Eric from day where it took Cam about 4yrs to be the player he was and even that was a short window. Both players physical styles contributed to the shortened productive years. Eric had an 8yr run that will never be duplicated in hockey again.
Thanks for the awesome video!! man i do miss watchin him play... bodies were just flyin Lol. I never missed a game in those days. wow! now i dont care so much if i miss a game.... its not the same. thanks Big E!! i hope they retire your 88 soon. its crazy it hasnt happened yet.... you were the best :) thanks again.
Just like all sports rules have generally changed you can't call something dirty that was allowed in the time frame it was when it was allowed. The people that hate Lindros he problly laid out half there team. Every team in sports should have a player like that there one in a million. Not only could he out skate you out wit you out maneuver you he could lay anyone out on there best day. Watching that video brought back a ton of great memories my father is the flyer fan and i'm the ranger fan but man did i love that philly squad so exciting to watch. I do hope both the flyers and rangers retire his jersey just out of respect and if the flyers don't they need to check there brains out for memory loss as well, what he brought to that town for years was inspiring.
Some comments in here call him a bully. What a joke. What a pussified nation we now live in. The people in here calling him a bully understand so little about this game and how it was played THEN you shouldn't even be allowed to watch these highlights. "Bully" smh
As kids we were obviously Lindros fans, collected his hockey cards too. Was also a huge John LeClair fan and I played hockey with #10 on the back of my jersey just like him, even though I was playing D. Watching this compilation now in my forties I have to admit Lindros had all those concussions ending his career coming to his way from the get go. He lived by the sword and died by the sword I guess. PS. Legion of Doom was massive in the 90's
Lindros was his own worst enemy. He was like the bull in the China shop only it was himself who got the horns. He was a beast though, i'll give him that.
Stevens and Lindros appeared on ESPN together just two days before the 2015 All Star game and Lindros was asked what he thought about OV. Lindros responded "I like turtles"! Stevens then asked Lindros what he thinks of Claude Geroux and Lindros responded "thanks a lot, I got a fucking migraine"! I felt bad for Lindros but a second later I was hoping he would get hit by a bus.
I remember back when "hd tv" was starting to be marketed and thinking "how can they make real life look better than it does". I was about 15. Pretty easy to see now.
Still one of my favorite players ever. I have a VHS tape of his greatest hits, goals and fights. All of the highlights are shown in this video but has a big playlist added to it
Thanks for your being kind enough and posting this up here for all of us Lindros fans. We are all grateful and appreciative for that. Unlike some other fans or hockey fans in general, I miss 1990's with the rules that were implemented and legal at the time. All the greatest players had played through them, and the rules were fair and just. Then, after the lockout in 2005, they official started to destroy the game and water it down to almost another boring European league, which could eventually happen, unless the right person becomes a commissioner and realizes what makes the NHL the best and most exciting league in the world. The new rules have since wiped out many grinding, gritty, tough as nails North-American players. Now, we have more non-physical, whining players with visors, and I cannot stand that. The only thing that was able to stop the unstoppable human machine, was the headhunting losers led by Scott Stevens and Darius Kasparaitis. Stevens, whom I lost all respect for after that criminal hit in 2000, had only one goal in mind in that play-offs series, and that was to finish Lindros' career for good. He was Lindros' favorite punching bag, he feared him, he was frustrated by him to no end, and there was nothing Stevens could do about that, nothing (at 4:27 of the clip, the coward tries to dodge yet another of the E-train's bone crunching hits coming at him, but Eric was a smart and intelligent player with unparalleled motor skills and a perfect control over positioning of his body and timing of his hits, and so he still got Stevens). Eric is the greatest player of all time, the most complete, the most physical, the most exciting and the most mesmerizing. His conditioning, strength, balance and stability were off the charts and he matched Gretzky in skills. His skating and acceleration were jaw-dropping for his size. He could not be beaten on important face-offs, his snap shot, slap shot and one-timer were arguably the hardest in the game, just rockets and hammers, his backhand shot was as heavy as many players' forehand shot, and they were all, damn so accurate! Simply put, he had no weakness, the prototype of a perfect player. Every time he would step on the ice, something epic was about to happen. His style might be imitated some day, but such player will be destined to fail, for in 2007 we witnessed the retirement of the player who was not once in a generation, but once in a human history type of a player. The NHL's greatest promotional tool was deliberately ignored to be protected and was let to be run at by players of the aforementioned cowards' caliber, who, at the same time, were nowhere near of the significance, importance and the amount of money No.88 had brought in, all of which The Big E had provided the game with. What a shame, NHL...The Flyers fans loved his style and they miss him. Some of them just don not want to admit it. Politics are the reason why Lindros has not had his jersey retired yet and why he is not in HHOF. He should have been inducted in 2007, and had his jersey No. 88 up on the rafters in Philly in 2001. Lindros=Flyers, Flyers=Lindros. Inseparable. Forever.
***** The reason that Lindros did such things was the fact that he could not be stopped by a single player, let alone legally. He was not protected by anyone, thus all the abuse must have been dealt with by him alone. Imagine that you're constantly physically abused, and, due to your size, it is assumed that you will absorb it all and that none of your teammates will stand up for you. Keep in mind that Lindros was a nonexpendable asset for the Flyers. He would simply get pissed and take care of himself. Tough luck for everyone who was not his teammate. Of course, you minded his actions because he did not play for your team. Stevens, whom I lost all respect for, pulled off his garbage hit as he intended to finish Lindros' career with it, as the circumstances at that time outright guaranteed such a scenario. The disgusting hit could have been easily qualified as a physical assault with intent to injure, since Bertuzzi had been charged for a similar incident. Lindros was a hitting machine and the greatest hitter of all time. The ultra physical style helped him and his teams to set the tone of games and be at his best and the fans either loved it or hated it, depending on whether he was on your team or not. However, I highly doubt that there was any fan in all those buildings that would be bored when Lindros stepped on the ice. I certainly do not want to be bored for the amount of money I pay to see games. Unfortunately, there are many not so exciting games in NHL these days, particularly during a regular season, where there is virtually no hitting. The game became watered-down.
Ah so now you know why I loved playing Hockey in the mid 80s..Yeah you get it and its true so much has been lost..what it meant to be a player pre lockout and now is so different it isnt funny..Id never trade the memories of the game I have with todays game no way..It was simply awesome..Thanks for reminding us it s clear to see yo know what was and is up
Who put the telephone pole on the ice? Jesus, how good was 88. Miss those days. LOL, Garth throwing down. He looked pretty good out there. Hextall was a lunatic. Love the guy.
07:45 He's starting to use his insane strength to gain the space he needs for this fight, after the unfair start practically in the bench. Can you imagine the fear as this inhuman monster starts unloading after that?
Got to see Lindros play many times in Oshawa in junior. He could sometimes waltz around for half a game then something clicked in, and he'd hit everything that moved. And no one could match his strength. He came to the NHL a year early because he was ready but also, he could have killed someone accidently.

Yes now it is boring
THE ONE ever.
А нам, признаем мы это или нет, остается лишь только ждать и надеяться, что когда-нибудь на лед выйдет подобная мегазвезда....
Надо было закончить видос моментом с Каспарайтисом... в виде хэппиенда :)
How is Lindros #88 not retired and in the rafters?? Ridiculous
Good ole hockey days, great entertainment, fans got their money's worth.Crushed ole Stevens over and over,i loved it.Thanks for the memories Eric, mvp.
We'll never see that blend of size, skill, ferocity ever again.
Because Scott Stevens turned his brain into oatmeal!
ghytgb he did it to himself man lol
I think he and Brett were on steroids.
Up at 3am so king it to Eric!
Man, watching this brings back SO many great memories...having been able to see Eric Lindros play for Philly...and just the way he was a beast on ice....huge man and fast as the wind.....what could have been.
Remember when Stevens drilled him? Great times!
ghytgb yeah that's the nature of the beast in the NHL that you will get as good as you gave " wise guy" Eric Lindros doesn't have to take a back seat to anyone and if it was a draft straight up I'm picking E Lindros over Scott Stevens every time all day long !
@@ghytgb that was the beginning of the end of his career and when he came to the Leafs he was a concussion riddled bust.
kasper....)))
Lindros and the Legion of Doom, especially LeClair were the reason I got into hockey. Lindros had it all, size, power and skill. He was a truly dominant player.
He is tough off the ice also, family is good people they don’t play around

@@gtxjhcrbq You've commented the exact same thing on multiple comments... We get it... Doesn't take away from the fact that Lindros was a monster. Should find a hobby bud cause getting buried in the comments ain't it.
Never seen a man that size skate like a freakin' ballerina.....and hit like Mike Tyson.
A ballerina? Better look again he skates he’s skates like he shit his pants!
And how many games did you play in the National Hockey League? Did would lay you out in one half stride.
@@rayquinn2767 you sound like you really don’t know what you’re talking about. Someone his size should not
skate that effortlessly and well. Lindros was unbelievable and I love him ❤️
@nicolehusser6656 his skill lol 😆 didn't you see him flat on the ice with multiple concussions lol skill my ass he's a whining little tit I don't want to play there I don't want to play here if he's so great he'd have his name on a couple of Stanley cups 😄 but he has nothing but migraine headaches for the rest and his life 😅
Best power forward that ever put on skates
I had this guy all wrong, I was too wrapped in the politics, this man was a BOSS , wish I could have seen his skills and toughness
Go watch some full games here on TH-cam. Lindros was must see tv. Most entertaining player I ever saw
It will be a long time till we see another like him. He was so much fun to watch
Lindros makes grown ass men look like ragdolls
Scott Stevens #4 NJ DEVILS ....Many battles
I'm here 2019 after Cherry firing, These hockey feeds are coming up on TH-cam for me.
Don Cherry would be so proud of this, and Eric Lindros, Where has Hockey gone?!?!!?
This is the glory days of NHL hockey.
It's so sad what's going on in this world.
The Metallica kills it, amazing.
I wish I can go back and relive the begining1990ties over again in Toronto with Hockey and baseball.
YOO THANKS FOR THIS HE WAS ONE OF A KIND!
He played like a goon sometimes. He had no buisness stepping in to the big boy skates. Glass Jaw Eric
Gotta love karma!

He was best hockey player for me.He had everything
The G.O.A.T.
He was 6'4" 240lbs of pure muscle and he knew how to rock
Once in a lifetime player and it’s not even close! Awesome video too by the way.
AGREED! totally the best times ever as a Flyers Fan!
1973-1975 probably better.
Sportsaholic4life If you guys still would’ve had Forsberg you would’ve won a cup you ignorant Wretch!!! I was only going to use two exclamation Points but that deserved a third.
*sigh* This makes me miss the 90's something fierce
the greatest power forward to ever play the game....thanks for the memories eric....much love brother
Nice vid thanks
Sportsaholic4life TV he simply doesnt have the stats.
Check out Clark Gillies stats and he was elected to the Hall Of Fame.
Best Lindros video ever. There will never be anyone like The Big E!
I know he’s career was short an injury’s got to him. But still my favorite player of all-time!!! No one was a beast like lindros nobody!!!! He’ll score 4 goals in a game 2 fights an 20 big hits. Lindros was unreal!!!
Boy do I miss those days! AWESOME job on the video. BIG E!!!!!
I love it when he steamrolls Mcsorley
One of if not the best natural athletes of all time!!!!
Natural?? Lol...doubtful
The best package of speed, skill and power I have ever seen. Many of these hits would today warrant suspensions/fines but so many hits were him protecting himself against incoming hits. Funny how they all ended up on THEIR arses....
He really had no equal..
Size strength and skill..
ONE OF A KIND
Career.
Almost forgot what a wrecking machine he was!! Talk about dominate a game
@@kingbee48185 head down that was the biggest and perhaps only flaw of Lindros.

He was a marked man as the Flyers have been a marked team.
he had a target on his head every game and he still performed and was the best on the ice and never backed down....i grew up watching Big E...
Your high rule enforcement had NOTHING to do with Lindros...Do some research please
@@michaeljoseph8674 not sure what you mean, can you expound please?
Gotta love karma!

Eric Lindros would've excelled in any era against anybody you want him on your team he's underrated
The most physically dominant "skill" player ever. Loved watching him play...was heartbroken at the way his career ended.
His jersey should be retired in Philly - if it wasn't for him, the Flyers would've remained irrelevant for a long time and Snider's arena would never have been built.
Linebacker on Skates... nobody has come into the league with this type of presence
John Frank Pronger HOF before lol
+ghytgb You're a major douchebag, troll.
Long overdue. Congrats Eric.
He must have been terrifying to play against.
I loved the Flyers of the late 90's! Lindros was a tank before all the injuries
Lived by the sword & died by the sword, but he was something to watch, especially live.

HALL OF FAME ..... i say YES !!
Would rather see Lindros play than Gretzky any day of the week, it's hilarious seeing people call him soft even though he endured abuse without protection and took matters into his own hands, shame head hunters like Stevens ruined his career.
They should without a doubt, retire his jersey! No one ever quite played like Eric Lindros! 88 belongs in the rafters! Period!

Never before, never again

Put him in.
You mean most dement forward.
He was an absolute wrecking ball. Such a bad ass.
(8:28)They say inside every great competitor is a mean streak. Clearly his was as big as he stood. No f**ks given. Savage!
Meanest and toughest skilled player of all time by far. Unique, even during the wild west time of NHL.
Messier
i wish he was still playing today! My all time favorite player
Who was the last power forward that finished absolutely all of his checks? David Backes? He has had some serious concussion issues too.

"Bully" smh
A legend....total beast on the ice.
Greatest player to wear a Flyers Jersey!
A player like him will never exist in the nhl again 90% of the hits in that video would be suspension today
GOAT
As kids we were obviously Lindros fans, collected his hockey cards too. Was also a huge John LeClair fan and I played hockey with #10 on the back of my jersey just like him, even though I was playing D.
Watching this compilation now in my forties I have to admit Lindros had all those concussions ending his career coming to his way from the get go. He lived by the sword and died by the sword I guess.
PS. Legion of Doom was massive in the 90's
what a monster...can you imagine what he'd do to the league today??
Get suspended
sad but true lol
Ah so now you know why I loved playing Hockey in the mid 80s..Yeah you get it and its true so much has been lost..what it meant to be a player pre lockout and now is so different it isnt funny..Id never trade the memories of the game I have with todays game no way..It was simply awesome..Thanks for reminding us it s clear to see yo know what was and is up
Lindros was a very good player but not more than that. and he chose to never change his style, always head down. he perished bu the sword.
Who put the telephone pole on the ice?
Jesus, how good was 88. Miss those days.
LOL, Garth throwing down. He looked pretty good out there.
Hextall was a lunatic. Love the guy.
Holy shit! He was a beast! I am glad he got Scott Stevens!

He's starting to use his insane strength to gain the space he needs for this fight, after the unfair start practically in the bench. Can you imagine the fear as this inhuman monster starts unloading after that?
it really is a must see....
Got to see Lindros play many times in Oshawa in junior. He could sometimes waltz around for half a game then something clicked in, and he'd hit everything that moved. And no one could match his strength. He came to the NHL a year early because he was ready but also, he could have killed someone accidently.
That body slam at 8:30 was insane
