Harvey is adorable! So glad he's getting food that is better for him. This will no doubt improve both his health and his life expectancy.
Can you please lower the music volume on subsequent videos? For those with hearing differences, music at that volume can make understanding speech more difficult.
I'm blessed enough that I get wild european hedgehogs in my garden, and I recently set up a basic house for them since I'm clearly ground for a chicken run and that meant getting rid of our larger brush pile. I love seeing pet ADHs and how much ppl love them on videos like this because it makes me hopeful for the future of the UK wild hedgepig:))

@@gecko2738 no, because they wouldn't appreciate it. They're my midnight insomnia buddies though, so we just vibe together while I have a cup of tea and they forage :)

Intriguing that he 'annoints' his quills with the scent of a favourite new item instead of the other way around (giving the blanket his scent to claim ownership)... what's the purpose of transferring the scent onto himself? Predator evasion / scent camouflage?

4:09 insect exoskeletons are made of chitin, not keratin. Keratin is present in vertebrate skin, scales, feathers, claws, nails, hair ect.

I love, love, love that Harvey is living life more healthily. I hope that those moments of freezing up also become a thing of the past - something tells me it's perhaps a gastro thing or maybe stress release from the past?

Hodgepigs are the best! We get wild ones in the garden occasionally. One time I left the kitchen door open and almost had a heartattack as I went to close it, because this cheeky lil hodgepig was right at the door trying to stick it's nose in and and see if the coast was clear to investigate our kitchen! 🤣

I used to have 2 hedgehogs, Penny and Hufflepuff. I miss them so much. Hedgehogs are the best! Also, my axolotl’s name is Harvey too :)
I've had the urge to adopt or rescue a hedgehog off and on since I was young. There are many things about hedgehogs that appeal to me. Sadly, I formed a conceptual policy to not have animals that can eat each other, save for my cats and dogs.
So, for now, probably forever, I shall admire them from afar. ;)

Thank you all for your feedback! I can definitely see how the music could be bothersome. It did get a bit louder than usual in the middle there.. I'll keep that in mind if I make another voice over video like this.

Between this, and having wonderful news that my best friend's horse had an incredible and fun vet visit have made my day. She even got a video of her horse snoring when he was sedated.

Why are you all calling Gumball Harvey?...
How can you keep a hedgehog in such a plastic, unnatural cage? Apart from your own self satisfaction, have you ever considered the hh psychological needs& fulfillment of his need to smell, seek out insects, make nests under brambles, long grass, etc. He maybe captive bred, but his natural instincts still exist. I think your lack of empathy for animals is shocking & I'm saddened to see you're using him to make money on here. Hh are an endangered species in England. Here they run free. Thank God.
Next time you should do your research before leaving nasty comments & actually watch some other AWM videos... you couldn't be more wrong in your accusations. These are rescued animals that have the best care, housing & treatment possible... many of whom have special needs & would otherwise be euthanised if not taken in by AWM. Their housing & enrichment is second-to-none, and being an animal ambassador for their species gives the animal psychological enrichment as well as raising awareness & funds for the individual's care & their species' plight. The status of hedgehog species in the US is not the same as the UK... do yourself a favour and watch other Animal Wonders videos, you might learn a few things about hedgehogs & animal care.
