This is one of the most BTS songs ever. Hilarious. Meaningful lyrics that are also hella sarcastic. Absolutely insanely irreverent video made by them that is both crack but perfect. I was watching over my friend’s you get sibling last year when she went to do something last year. To make conversation, I was asking him what he got for Christmas and he said he got a Nintendo switch and PlayStation 5. I was so confused and asked why he got both and was triggered when he said something along the lines of “I only really wanted the switch, but I asked for the ps5 because all my friends have it.” *immediately starts playing spine breaker in my head* It’s nice that BTS talks about topics like these. Such a great fun song, love it and the 'making of' is awesome! Hope you get to watch it. Trust BTS to not be afraid to speak the truth, and in such a way! In light of the Balenciaga situation this song certainly shows that 'NAMES' in fashion etc are corrupt behind the scenes. As you rightly say Luke, just buy what looks good and feels comfortable. I've never been one to buy expensive brands (couldn't afford it in my earlier years) so never fell into the trap that having the lastest whatever was what was going to make me happy. Glad people are waking up to it. Certainly where children are concerned, I draw the line.

This song is so iconic, UGH A MASTERPIECE!! The live is so good too, I do hope you watch it live it's so /chef's kiss/ also, not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Catholic schools in the US have uniforms. I went to Catholic school grade K-8, but then I went to a public high school, which have dress codes, but not uniforms. It was a HUGE change from what I was used to though, lol. But yeah, uniforms are really expensive here, too 😒 AAAAND ALSO, on a note related to BTS but not this video, I have a feeling people have already mentioned it, but I'm unable to catch streams bc of time zones and work, has anyone told you about the BTS Christmas medley they did on SBS Gayo in 2019? It's SO good!! I'm almost positive you've had to have heard about it and might be waiting til we're closer to Christmas to watch it, but I just wanted to put that out there just in case 😊
Just as a small point to what you were saying about uniforms in the UK, I am a teacher in Korea and the kids also wear uniforms here which is why I think things like watches and padding coats are the items that get pointed out. In winter all my students wear their coats over their uniforms in the classroom (while I, a Canadian, am sweating from the heater lol) and it isn't against dress code so they can some clear markers for people to see. Especially since my school doesn't allow tech in the classrooms and they also need to keep accessories to a minimum. Even though this song is a few years old I remember we have had some incidents with kids flexing their brands on others so BTS really does remain relevant on the social issues.

Hi from Greece ! I remember when I was in highschool , in the 90' s, we did not have to were uniforms. One year there was a debate whether we sould or not return to the uniforms and among all who said no was also the student community ! I am laughing now because at the end in every school you could see the same outfit : levi's jeans , white t-shirt, allstars canvas shoes and a polo backpack ( the colour for the bag was not specific, only the brand ) otherwise you were not cool to be around the others ! Now I realise that my mother sould be thankfull that we did not know what a cellphone was !

In South Korea they wear school uniforms also but think the outer wear is a personal purchase. Im lucky living in Australia I only wear hoodies dont own a coat and only one jacket which I havnt worn for the last 5 years. I agree about the clothes we should buy what suits our build and what we personally like to wear unless we are a public figure or job requirements require a certain look. Very few people can pull off wearing Haute Couture altho the boys seem to pull it off very well yet most of the time they dont wear it unless for red carpet events etc. This shows in dance practice videos where they wear their own personal styles. So BTS arnt afraid to tell us the fans off for things or the parents or the children with songs such as Pied Piper (for the fans) N.O. (for the parents pushing their children) and Spinebreaker ( for the children pushing their parents). These are all beautiful songs but all have a powerful message as do a large amount of BTS songs once they are broken down.

I was wondering why there were so many repeated parts in the video that didn't quite match up, the original version of the MV that BTS made was only 2.5 ish minutes and this one is 4 minutes. So a fan had looped some parts of the video to fill in for the parts they didn't film during the episode. Odd that I'm not seeing anyone else point that out in the comment section 😆The 'easy lyrics' part meant that they put the Korean romanized on the bottom to try and sing along with. Those pink granny looking jackets that they wore were actually part of their outfits for a performance of Blood Sweat and Tears too. I couldn't believe it until I saw the performance. It's amazing how they can transform a traditionally old lady style into a stylish outfit that we don't even notice it out of place (cause it isn't) Styling people are wild.

Hey FYI, I just wanted to comment on your comment on "different cultures have different prices." Capitalism is connected to domination. Whoever makes the deals to sell western products, especially, outside of the west, will want to make money. This is where greed and oppression enters. Wherever that happens, there is a social hierarchy. Traditions in most of the world where the caste system is at play, the haves and the have-nots will begin to show the ugly face of expensive things means they have the right to humiliate those who can't afford them. It's not about "culture" as you say. Jeans, for instance, in Russia, or hundreds of dollars. This causes that problem there. Western corporations, of course, make millions from this and don't stop it as a human rights issue.

Yeah, school uniforms make sense as a means to achieve equality and avoid showing difference in status - but selling expensive, exclusive uniforms invalidates the entire point. Should be cheap or free, or just a vague "black, comfortable fit trousers and a white shirt". Norway doesn't have school uniforms, but there are schools in every city where the students focus SO MUCH on wearing the "right" clothes, hand bags, back packs, watches and so on that it's gotten to be a major problem. And nothing says "blind privilege" like parents who stand up at the parent-teacher conference when they're discussing the problems with students nagging their parents for a particular type of jacket (around 500-1500 USD) and some families just not being able/willing to buy them - and their kids being ostracized - and saying "Well, there's only three students or so who don't have that jacket, right? Can't we just buy them jackets as well? Problem solved!" Yeah, like that's going to "fix" the problem of finding new and more expensive status symbols and bratty, spoiled kids (Yes, I'm looking at you, Mr. Privilege!) mocking the kids who can't afford them. Buy them the jackets, and they'll move on to comparing backpacks or smart phones. It's about the attitude and the lack of empathy and understanding - that's the problem, not the fact that kids aren't able to get jackets or school bags worth 1500 USD when they're still in junior high!

also, not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Catholic schools in the US have uniforms. I went to Catholic school grade K-8, but then I went to a public high school, which have dress codes, but not uniforms. It was a HUGE change from what I was used to though, lol. But yeah, uniforms are really expensive here, too 😒
AAAAND ALSO, on a note related to BTS but not this video, I have a feeling people have already mentioned it, but I'm unable to catch streams bc of time zones and work, has anyone told you about the BTS Christmas medley they did on SBS Gayo in 2019? It's SO good!! I'm almost positive you've had to have heard about it and might be waiting til we're closer to Christmas to watch it, but I just wanted to put that out there just in case 😊
Just as a small point to what you were saying about uniforms in the UK, I am a teacher in Korea and the kids also wear uniforms here which is why I think things like watches and padding coats are the items that get pointed out. In winter all my students wear their coats over their uniforms in the classroom (while I, a Canadian, am sweating from the heater lol) and it isn't against dress code so they can some clear markers for people to see. Especially since my school doesn't allow tech in the classrooms and they also need to keep accessories to a minimum. Even though this song is a few years old I remember we have had some incidents with kids flexing their brands on others so BTS really does remain relevant on the social issues.
I just love watching the more funny BTS videos like Spine Breaker (great song as well) and seeing your reaction was priceless. Please react one day to one on my most favorite songs along with one of BTS's most humorous videos (my opinion), "War of Hormone". One of their early songs from 2014. There is also a Halloween version video of this song by BTS which is quite comical. Thanks for keeping me laughing (and tearing up sometimes too) enjoying your reactions. Hi from Greece ! I remember when I was in highschool , in the 90' s, we did not have to were uniforms. One year there was a debate whether we sould or not return to the uniforms and among all who said no was also the student community ! I am laughing now because at the end in every school you could see the same outfit : levi's jeans , white t-shirt, allstars canvas shoes and a polo backpack ( the colour for the bag was not specific, only the brand ) otherwise you were not cool to be around the others ! Now I realise that my mother sould be thankfull that we did not know what a cellphone was !

In South Korea they wear school uniforms also but think the outer wear is a personal purchase. Im lucky living in Australia I only wear hoodies dont own a coat and only one jacket which I havnt worn for the last 5 years. I agree about the clothes we should buy what suits our build and what we personally like to wear unless we are a public figure or job requirements require a certain look. Very few people can pull off wearing Haute Couture altho the boys seem to pull it off very well yet most of the time they dont wear it unless for red carpet events etc. This shows in dance practice videos where they wear their own personal styles. So BTS arnt afraid to tell us the fans off for things or the parents or the children with songs such as Pied Piper (for the fans) N.O. (for the parents pushing their children) and Spinebreaker ( for the children pushing their parents). These are all beautiful songs but all have a powerful message as do a large amount of BTS songs once they are broken down.

I was wondering why there were so many repeated parts in the video that didn't quite match up, the original version of the MV that BTS made was only 2.5 ish minutes and this one is 4 minutes. So a fan had looped some parts of the video to fill in for the parts they didn't film during the episode. Odd that I'm not seeing anyone else point that out in the comment section 😆The 'easy lyrics' part meant that they put the Korean romanized on the bottom to try and sing along with.
Those pink granny looking jackets that they wore were actually part of their outfits for a performance of Blood Sweat and Tears too. I couldn't believe it until I saw the performance. It's amazing how they can transform a traditionally old lady style into a stylish outfit that we don't even notice it out of place (cause it isn't) Styling people are wild.

Hey FYI, I just wanted to comment on your comment on "different cultures have different prices." Capitalism is connected to domination. Whoever makes the deals to sell western products, especially, outside of the west, will want to make money. This is where greed and oppression enters. Wherever that happens, there is a social hierarchy. Traditions in most of the world where the caste system is at play, the haves and the have-nots will begin to show the ugly face of expensive things means they have the right to humiliate those who can't afford them. It's not about "culture" as you say. Jeans, for instance, in Russia, or hundreds of dollars. This causes that problem there. Western corporations, of course, make millions from this and don't stop it as a human rights issue.

Yeah, school uniforms make sense as a means to achieve equality and avoid showing difference in status - but selling expensive, exclusive uniforms invalidates the entire point.
Should be cheap or free, or just a vague "black, comfortable fit trousers and a white shirt".
Norway doesn't have school uniforms, but there are schools in every city where the students focus SO MUCH on wearing the "right" clothes, hand bags, back packs, watches and so on that it's gotten to be a major problem.
And nothing says "blind privilege" like parents who stand up at the parent-teacher conference when they're discussing the problems with students nagging their parents for a particular type of jacket (around 500-1500 USD) and some families just not being able/willing to buy them - and their kids being ostracized - and saying "Well, there's only three students or so who don't have that jacket, right? Can't we just buy them jackets as well? Problem solved!"
Yeah, like that's going to "fix" the problem of finding new and more expensive status symbols and bratty, spoiled kids (Yes, I'm looking at you, Mr. Privilege!) mocking the kids who can't afford them.
Buy them the jackets, and they'll move on to comparing backpacks or smart phones.
It's about the attitude and the lack of empathy and understanding - that's the problem, not the fact that kids aren't able to get jackets or school bags worth 1500 USD when they're still in junior high!
