What a wonderful spirt and obviously talent you are Dave to show the inner creative process of jazz piano playing in this manner. This is so wonderful, GREAT playing
You the man Dave. So nice to see someone else who loves the piano, music and gets so much joy from it. You are a great motivator and person. Such great command of the piano and all the different ways you demonstrate. I hope to come to see you play or take a lesson when I am in New York City ! Thanks so much Dave : o )

This is great - thanks so much! I haven't reached the end yet, and maybe you tell at the end, but what changes are you using? I'd love to practice some of your ideas over the same changes. :-)
Can I ask a simple question? Is there a method to this madness of berating or mocking potential new students? Is it to weed out people with ego or to just show everyone who's boss? I'm not trying to be controversial here--I'm genuinely curious. I've asked questions on the private forum (which I don't visit any more) and here too and all I seem to get is either extreme sarcasm or something else. I understand the need to "lose the 'tude" as it were but if the only way I can advance as a player is to endure more kicks to the groin, I'll have to find another way. I'm pushing 50 years old and I've lived through enough of that stuff. Thanks.
Jesus, guy, take a chill pill. Are you sure you posted on the right video and channel? Dave's videos are absolutely fantastic, free and optimistic education that you'd probably never be able to get in real life. I don't know what's your problem, but maybe if you, for whatever reason, feel offended or hurt because of free education, you could perhaps not visit these uploads.
I'm not trolling, and maybe it's an overreaction to something. But I've asked questions before about taking lessons. I've asked questions about particular ways of notating things. I've asked questions about jazz vernacular. Maybe something is lost in translation--like maybe it's a joke or something? I once paid Dave a compliment telling him that I liked his humor... the kind of snarky, silly stuff. And he brought up the word "snarky" as if I didn't know what it meant. I'm sure he did. And then he said, "Oh. Like the puppy." Which was clever and fine, but you pay someone a compliment and they kick your rocks--it's off putting to say the least. I've thought about lessons from Dave because he plays really well, and I guess to be honest I'm just responding to this video because I had to ask myself "why am I getting videos in my subscriptions from this channel when I'd kind of been made fun of in the past?" Thinking about the "cool" reception in the private forum and the mockery here just made me decide to confront the issue in this comment section. Guess I'll wait for replies and then decide whether or not I want to continue getting vids in my feed from it. Thanks for the music over the years, anyway.

Halfway through - you have my full attention! 😃 Amazing how you know just where you are in the changes when you are playing abstractly. Love it!
The whole thing is over the changes to my favorite blowing tune, Lennies Pennies, which is Pennies from Heaven in minor)

What are you talking about? Obviously you have had some painful experiences but I have no idea what you are referring to
