    Hello and welcome to my channel Sew Little Time where I share all of my sewing makes, charity shop upcycles, knitting, crochet and craft projects. I also include a little of my daily life.
    Today I am sharing a tutorial on how to sew a hem on a dress or skirt using bias binding. This technique gives a lovely finish on the inside of the dress, but is also very useful when you only want a narrow hem. It gives the hem some stability to stop it flipping out.

      @sewlittletime  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww you're welcome, it's a lovely finish to a garment, I find it adds stability as well as looking neat, tidy and pretty. Lol, well one of the rabbits was out, but usually during the day they hide in the flower beds...but yes there was definitely a bird, a big pigeon I think lol xx

    • @sewlittletime

      Thank you Lesley, I really like a bias bound hem, I like the stability it adds and it's a pretty finish on the inside too. The fabric was from Flamingo Fabrics, but it was quite awhile ago now xx

  • @Bevaboo
    @Bevaboo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thank you for sharing how to do this! I do have one question. Why did you choose to sew from the top side of the fabric, rather than iron everything in place and sew with the bias binding facing you?

    • @sewlittletime
      @sewlittletime  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I think it’s because I want to ensure the stitching line showing on the outside is straight, in case the bias tape is slightly uneven when folded in. But you can sew it however you feel most comfortable ☺️ x
