You know..I just crank up Styx in the work truck and pretend I'm back in the 70's and 80's..With everything in chaos I prefer listening to your music and just thinking about a simple time. Dennis Deyoung you are absolutely right on!! Can I get an autograph picture? Lol..Have a great day..😁
I saw you with Alan Parsons in Detroit .Really Good ! Loved Styx when you were in it ! I have been playing bass for 40 years in cover bands Classic Rock never got a chance to make something out of playing due to M.S.at 35 but It hasn't affected my playing still love doing it ! Good Luck on Things ! ! !
Hi Dennis, I am 50 years old and been a fan since about 9 years old. When I listen to Cornerstone and Paradise Theatre, I experience nostalgia. Rock on 🎤🎵
All well put Dennis, I'm 56 we lived through the best of times , hopefully the country is not going down the drain for the kids sake. Well thanks again and all those trophies behind you are all well deserved.
DDY what a great life you have lived. Storybook material. From Roseland to being a teacher to playing in TW4 then evolving to Styx. Married Suzanne. Rest is history. God bless you and keep you Dennis DeYoung
Mr. DeYoung? Can you write a book please? I'm only 17, but all all the words you say, in and out of your music, resonates and inspires me, as a young man and an aspiring musician. God bless you.
Thank you Dennis. I’m a 35 year fan at 47 years old. I have seen you live several times, and hope you come back around to the RI area when the Covid 19 clears up.
I LOVE watching your videos Dennis! I still can’t believe I get to watch one of my favorite singers, growing up & NOW, ay home! So wonderful!!! You are a kind soul and a great inspiration, and I love that! ❤️👍
I've never seen the "new" band live. Never had a desire. Have seen Mr DeYoung three times (including the one in LA he released on blu-ray), and all were excellent! He is Styx.
Hold up a bit. Larry Gowan does an admiral job and IS appreciated by Dennis as Larry is a fan. He's the only one who fits. It's good for Dennis as it set him free.
Dennis DeYoung is Styx. This Man is the Man who rocked our ass off.Just listen to Lorelei,Beware of the Queen of Spades,I’m OK,The Great White Hope and many other’s.Also I always thought Mr.Roboto jammed.there must be millions of people who can relate to some of the lyrics? I think of a song sung by Peter, Paul & Mary: "Music speaks louder than words, it's the only thing the whole world listens to; music speaks louder than words -- when you sing, people understand."
however flawed journalists and our journalism may be, demonizing journalists - especially as a group - hurts democracy, and has the potential to be deadly.
im 56,love your music from 70s glad to see im not the only one still rockin!!!!guitarist as well, love the new song!!!!god bless you dennis….um i mean mr DeYoung.peace out!
I love you, Dennis DeYoung. If only we had more people in the world like you we would live harmoniously. I love your music, your way of thinking and the way you brighten our days with your videos. Love to you and your family ❣️
Dennis. . .You're SO right!!! I was a TV Director for 40 years and I directed LIVE, local evening newscasts 5 nights a week. After I retired they expanded many of the shows to an hour, and for the last 10 years of my career we began EVERY show EVERY night with "BREAKING NEWS", whether it really was "Breaking" or not. The "game" was "GO BIG" and hype everything as much as possible. And now, since March, everything is playing right into their hands as they try to create as much fear in viewers minds as they can. Glad I'm not a part of it anymore!
I am so glad you gave "Borrowed Time," a shout out. I always thought Cornerstone, never got the proper credit it deserved. Borrowed TIme, " is one of my favorite later Styx songs.
Finally got to hear from you Dennis. You disappeared! Amen to everything you said. As a 30 year music veteran performer, I love the "behind the scenes" commentary and hearing about a songs' creation.
👏👏👏 couldn't have said it better! Dennis Deyoung for president! You are a master showman singer and writer! Just remember one day we will all look back and say" These are the best of times" God bless you dennis and please never stop writing and singing,,,we're living on borrowed time! Peace to all!
You and your former band captured my soul with Lady at a very early age. I think I was 5. I can't remember if my first listen was an AM radio on the life guard's tower (WLS) at the pool or a department store - I remember a stereo system rigged with sound activated lights and Lady was playing. The later was very mezmerizing like I was being hypnotized. Whichever came first, you've been with me in spirit since then (I just turned 50 last month). My own musical journey fizzled around 1990 at DePaul when the focus went towards Seattle grunge and for other reasons. I did get revived in the early 2000's playing in Bay Area bands. I spent my life playing/singing covers. As my 50th birthday approached I realized I spent my life mostly playing/singing covers - I never made MY album. So, I bought a DAW, got up to speed on the new tech (no more "punching in" on multi-track tape) and it's beginning to gel. For Better or Worse (also the name of one of the tracks) I'm doing this by the end of the year. Who knows whether or not you'll see this, Dennis. Who knows if Spotify will even blink when I upload it (don't care). I just wanted to say THANK YOU. Every time I sit behind the keys, Hammond or guitar - you've been there too. And come to the Bay Area when all this Covid-craziness lets up. I'd love to see you live again!
I grew up a Riverdale kid, and Styx was the soundtrack. I heard that TW4 played at Marian, which only added to the mystique - and then, years later working at my old high school after senior year, I spent an afternoon listing to your album reveal for Back to the World (so now, everyone backs away slowly from me when I sing the original words as "Herb, I love you...." every time it comes on the radio). For the south side, for music, and for the years - thank you.
Borrowed Time. I have quoted the words of that song so many times over the years to describe the situation in our country over the last several years. Thank you for the great songs!
Been A huge fan since 1972. And still am!!!! Played so many Styx songs over the years and had the Fantasy of being a keyboard player for you. Thanks Dennis for helping others fulfill their dreams!
We are indeed very frustrated with many politicians and reporters in many ways! That's part of what makes this song so much fun! We're so excited for the music video!!
Love most of all I've heard from you and Styx . Once again another great album . It's a shame that Styx and you couldn't do one last tour together . Your one my favorite singer / songwriter of all time . Thank You for all your music .
Back in the summer of 74... you played a show in Wichita, Kansas at Century 2... A big round building with a blue roof... You were on a bill of 4 or 5 bands of which 'Starcastle' was the 'headliner' for some reason... It was a great event lasting all day and late into the evening.. As I recall Lady had just come out. I wonder if you remember anything about that tour or that show and why Starcastle was headlining.. but the main thing is that I found out you guys in Styx were not just pop songwriters ... You had real depth and a humanity that really showed in your shows... I became a lifelong fan of you and Styx while you were with them. Its too bad you guys cant resolve your differences and I realize the ball is in their court as you have offered to work out an arrangement.. I also know how tough it can be to even talk with the people you basically divorced... I know how tough it would be to get the old bands back together that I have played with over the years... I wish you all the luck.. and I love your music.
So glad you are still here, sir. Got my 13 year old jamming out to The Grand Illusion album recently. The kid doesn't like anything and he said he liked the album, so you've got a new fan now.
So I haven't listen to the whole album yet. BUT, from what I have, this album should be number one on the charts. I went and read the lyrics to all the songs. WOW, they couldn't be more spot on to what is happening!! Dennis DeYoung( the genius behind STYX) has done it yet again!!! Can't wait to see you in concert again
Hey Dennis! Thank you!!! We love you, man! Big hello from Corpus Christi, Tx!!!! BTW... Don't wait for Heroes was my fight song that helped me lost almost 200 pounds. (long story) LOL.
Thank you for that video Dennis you are a fantastic person in that world. I listen your voice every day and i feel good every day... Respect for all of us!
I played this in the car the other day when my 16 year old twins were with me. They listened intently with smiles on their faces. When it was over, my daughter said, "Is that Dennis DeYoung?" I said yes and she said, ""Here sounds the same as in Paradise Theatre!" Every one in a while I can see I'm raising them right! 😊
I agree with you. I love your music since the 1970s. You have a wonderful voice and cool sense of humor. I live NW of Chicago. Your neighbors got a Lab from me years ago. They said Matthew used to hang out at their house like family. I thought that was so awesome. Keep singing! Love it!
Hello sir you're the best. Your work and musicianship over the past few decades is first class and top notch. Let me say thank you for influencing my life and millions of others. Say hello to the Lady, ...of the morning. 😊
Brilliant video and message. I’m looking forward to seeing the video! This album is brilliant. I’m bed ridden with MS and GBS and this album played on repeat along with your previous album has gotten me through these hard times. Thank you Dennis. You have a good heart and you’re a genius. Best regards.
Just remember that....it's a Grand Illusion...and deep inside we're all the same...Love you Dennis!! Huge fan since 1976! Good to see you performing again 💖👍🎶 "With All Due Respect" is great! Hilarious too!!
When I was 6, my brother gave me a "tape player" for my birthday. There was a note on it that said "hit play" He had preloaded it with Cornerstone. Styx has since been my "religion." They have been there in the "best of times" and the "worst of times" and when I faced a personal nightmare with my young daughter, there they were again. Always with me...I have never been a star struck person..but it has always been a dream of mine to sit down for a cup of tea (or beer) with Dennis DeYoung. This is the next best thing!
Looking forward to this. When I listen to the album , this is the first track i start with and I crank it cause yeah, my words exactly to some of my neighbors. ✌
Loving your song and video w Julian Lennon. Thank you for the decades of music. When I was in high school our choir teacher had us perform a Styx set. So much love for your voice and song writing 🎶🎹 i agree we have way more in common sir
Dennis you're the best! FYI, my name is Dennis also. Your music is awesome, this channel is awesome, please post more often!. And you're right, we're AREN'T as divided as the media would have us believe. And music is the one thing that brings people together no matter our differences. You can have a conversation with anyone about music and find common ground and not be offensive. That's why we need more of you!
Fuck Yes! The media so overplays the divisiveness that we have today! So glad to see someone that just shares these views! Thanks, Dennis, for such a great tune! And you are absolutely correct, this is non-partisan and both sides are sooooo guilty of it!
Dennis, what can I say except WOW. You are one of my favorite artists of any genre. Your talent never fails to impress me. 26 East is your best solo album, and you have outdone anything that Styx could dream of doing without you. I'm glad Jim Peterik talked you into doing this project. Your music hits a nerve with me, and has gotten me through tough times. Music is my sanctuary, and yours is my go to music. Keep on Rockin The Paradise Mr. DeYoung!
That wall is impressive, it is like a wall of accomplishments, your life history. 14 gold and/or platinum albums when Dennis was in charge of the band. 5 Platinums in a row. Then there are his own albums that got Gold and Platinum. Why he isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is mind blowing. Dennis, 100% Spot on, whodathunkit that your song 41 years ago would be so true today!
Thank you for your gift of music to us and for your quick wit and humor. Your band sounds awesome. The new album definitely has that “Styx” sound to it.🎶🙂 Cheers 🥂
Dennis would love if you gave us a little tour of your room there or perhaps talk about some of keyboards / synths you still have or used on all great songs
Been a fan since the 70's! Styx has been my favorite band ever since. & I tell ya, they aren't Styx to me without Dennis. Saw them in Manhattan Ks & was disappointed that Dennis wasn't there. But Shaw did put on a good show. Love ya Dennis! Don't let it end
Amen Brother Dennis! Preach the truth. We are not as divided as the media portrays. We need creative minds to speak out. If the media can create division, artists can create unity!
Amen! Love the song! And you are spot on with radical right vs left pitting us against each other! They portray the people in the middle as if we are on the fence and can’t make up our mind. They see the world as black or white and that there is no gray. But those of us in the middle don’t see everything as gray either, it’s just that both black and white are wrong. Thank you for doing this!

Accurate, Dennis. We're not divided. It's the media that's causing this insanity.
Individuals in everyday friendships and encounters are way ahead of the media and politicians, who want us divided.
@John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt and hatred and rascism too
Dismantle the leftist media, and unite the country again!
Watching the video , I felt proud for Dennis, America and united with fans a people everywhere.
I got goosebumps when I listened to it the first time. I love your truth telling in song Dennis. Always have. This is a good one!

Gowan sounds like a weasel with asthma.
Tim Sanderson I like Dennis and Gowan , too much hate going on...it’s only rock n roll geez
@@billydow9798 this is with a lot of older bands doing the same shit inside bickering groups like Judas priest foreigner

You are the coolest Dennis! You have inspired me from the very fist time I heard Lady driving down Mt. Hope Ave in Rochester, N.Y. (1973)
Finally got to hear from you Dennis. You disappeared! Amen to everything you said. As a 30 year music veteran performer, I love the "behind the scenes" commentary and hearing about a songs' creation.

I love your drive and honesty. Your creative spirit cannot be put down. Write more music to help us beat the "Grand Illusion" of the media.
You are the man! Thanks for sharing!
I love the new single. ♥️ very fitting!
Thanks Dennis for your clarification.
Man your a blast from my past 💯👍
OMG, Love the Borrowed Time Quote, Pretty much my favorite Styx song.
