Lord have mercy…. We fostered my grandmother’s Quaker one time. He was the MEANEST little snothead there ever was. I have no clue what my cousins did to this bird…. Largo, however, seems to be great! I will also echo his love of Bacon Pancakes 🥓 🥞
Each parrot has different personalities! I really lucked out with Mr Lago.. he is the best 😭💚🦖. However I did get him at 10 weeks old and I work from home so I spent/ spend alot of time with Lago daily.... he's one spoiled boy 🤣

Lago was $550 on sale. I always wanted a quaker parrot. Researched them for two years.. they are hard to come by in my area. Then I seen a posting for Lago and knew I had to get him 💚🦖 my bestfriend. I love quakers 💚💚💚💚💚

These are outlawed in the state of Pennsylvania because of their reputation of crop ravagers. Kerp them ondoors and they are wonderful
We have flocks of Quaker parrots near me just outside of Chicago and near the lake within the city proper. Awesome birds.

When I went on vacation last year Lago stayed at his grandma's she taught him how to onk 🤣 Lago does watch Pluto sometimes he enjoys trying to talk to Pluto telling him to step up and come here 🤣🤣 and of course the quaker parrot song 🎵

Just be careful. Quakers are rehomed so often because people don't understand that with the playfulness, they are also very grumpy at times. Be careful- I have a moody, but happy boy Quaker
I would echo what Blevins said to some degree, but my entire family loves our two Quakers as full fledged members of our family. They even eat at the dinner table with us. Now that the birdie dudes are almost 10 years old and my kids are away on their own and at college we have a custody arrangement whereby they’ll stay with my twin sons (their Uncles), my oldest daughter (their true Mama), and with me and my wife as Grandma & Grandpa. The Quakers love it being in contact with everybody and being well socialized. Just remember that getting Quakers is not just getting pets, but lifelong family members that you’ll love like crazy. Be consistent in training them, and don’t let them train you.

Nope it's doesn't matter the color. Every parrot has their own personality! Quakers are more prone to talk but some actually never will and that's ok. It all depends each bird is different but color has nothing to do with it

Every quaker is unique and they all have different personalities. However one major thing in common! They all seem to be very food oriented. So with the right treats and food you may be able to get your foster quaker to be your pal! 😁💚😍🦖

So my Tukki is 4 months old I had fed him since 3 weeks old and we watch ya'll almost everyday and he has picked up so much. Although sometimes he tries to beat Lagos Ass through the phone . I'm gonna get a video and would live to tag you. 🐦🐦 do you have gram or tiktok?

@tthomaselli2 thankyou! Yes he's a chatty boy! I got him at 10 weeks old and by 12 weeks he was chatting. His first word was whatcha doing? 🤣 after that he went to good boy, give me a kiss and peekaboo. From there he knows so many words and songs it's hard to keep track 🤣

How long did it take to learn him
Lago came home at 10 weeks old! Around 12/13 weeks he said his first word "whatcha doing". From there he's been a chatty boy ever since ! 💚🦖😍
You don't mention how old Lago is, but he seems fairly young. He is so full of fun and spunk, you are so lucky! I don't know if he is listening to you tube, but I can hear some Pluto, Milo, Jose in his repertoire. Next you should teach him to say "Housekeeping" like Ivy. Thank you for being such a good Mom❤️💕
In the some of these videos Lago is around 12 weeks and 1 years old. Today Lago is 1 year and 7 months old 😁 his birthday is March 30th! he has a very outgoing personality and loves to watch his bird shows and movies (Aladin being his favorite🤣). He watches all sorts of parrots on TH-cam his favorite being quakers of course 😁 I don't think iv heard the bird ivy before but I'll definitely search for it!

Your feathered home entertainment center, during his "window inspection/bordering on moonwalking" display, reminded me of a much-loved budgie which accompanied my family for a shade over ten years. It was the 1970's, and way-back-when/then, many homes would have a home stereo system set to top 40 FM stations for 12-16 hours most weekdays. @@LagoTheQuaker The two things that wound that bird up, were songs with somewhat similar beats to DAZZ, and fresh corn on the cob. Ours was a 'little damn showoff', who loved women, he was also known to "hijack the occasional thumb", and once bit clean through the top of my old man's ear, forcing my grandmother, an M.D., to drive over to suture it together again. When she only lightly anesthetized it, he complained, and she threatened to take him to the ER, just to watch him have to tell the ER staff that he was assaulted by a parakeet.

He's adorable I'm getting a hand raised baby in two weeks. I was a little disappointed because breeder got dna tests back and my baby's a girl the breeder doesn't sell them by specific sexs you get dna test done after you've already reserved so my baby won't talk and I'm a little worried about egg binding in a female as I never intend to breed her she's a pet and I've only experience in keeping male budgies but I didn't choose a quaker just for talking and I've a good vet specialised in birds if any health complications do come up so I can't wait to get my little girl Diva (I'm sure she'll live up to that name lol) she'll still be loved and spoiled and I can't wait to see what tricks I can teach her these little birds are so smart but a little male that talked would of been fun
Hi Shaz, That's great news. quakers are friends for life. Amazing birds, and they all have different personalities! It doesn't matter if the gender is a boy or a girl more than likely it will still talk. However, not all quaker parrots will talk but this is not based on gender its more so their personalities 😁💚 best of luck with your new baby 🐣🦜 there's a group on Facebook called quaker parrot owners you can join lots and lots if advice on there 😇

Hello, Lago is not for sale. And I do not breed parrots
I have one. One moment he is loving and then he hauls off and bites my lip or cheek. I got so I do not take him out due to his biting.
Awe really🥺 Lago hasn't bite me yet and spends mostly all day outside his cage. You should join the quaker parrot owner group on Facebook they have lots of tips and tricks from experienced owners that might be able to help you !
