Hey man, if you want to restore the sharpied ones, I recommend putting all of them in soapy water, and then coloring over the sharpie with white board marker which should clean a good portion. Also try spraying cheap perfume on them and rubbing it of which also helps :) good day to you :)

I compeltely forgot about the Minecraft customs phase! But yeah, i too ruined manya clone with sharpies and other things. I used to use this uh, carpenter's measure i think they're called. Or ruler. Anyway it's a metal ruler, and i used to use it to grind or sand down things like fins of clone trooper helmets, or guns of lego figures, sniper rifle scopes, all sorts of crazy things. xD All those customs were terrible. Literal trash fire. But i enjoyed every second of it. So i guess in the long run, it was worth it. Though i do sometimes regret not savng any uncustomized ones.
I remember watching your videos back in 2010. You were my favorite channel for a while, and a big inspiration. Granted, I regret destroying about 100 Minifigs but those were good times.

So you can actually remove the sharpie off of LEGO by getting an old toothbrush, get it and the LEGO wet with warm water. Then you put a bit of toothpaste on the LEGO/toothbrush, and scrub gently, after a while it should work! I did this with a bunch of LEGO that I had drawn on when I was younger

This reminds me of an "Old Wounds" Darth Maul I made as a kid. I had the original Maul minifig from back when the ones on the fridge magnets were fully functional, glued two cut out pieces of paper to a random torso and drew on the chest with markers using a Google Image search of the 2012 promotional shirtless Maul as my reference. I somehow managed to do a spot-on job. I didn't add anything to the arms, they were just straight red. I built absolutely massive cybernetic legs, trying my best to make them match the comic, and although they were accurate they ended up like twice or three times the size of a normal minifigure. I remember Dad being impressed with how good the legs were. Unfortunately Maul never had an Obi-Wan minifigure to fight.
