Wow! The cathedral lit up at night with the stars visible overhead was breathtaking! I will carry that image with me. Isn’t the chapter house the largest or one of the largest in all of England? It’s beautiful. When I saw the piano there I automatically thought about the acoustics in there and how cool it would be to play my cello in there. (I’m a professional musician.) Were the holes above the main doors and gallery of kings used for the choir to sing through on high holy days like at Salisbury Cathedral? That would’ve been an amazing experience to witness! I want so much to visit this cathedral the next time I visit England. Thanks for a wonderful video!
One of the Templars was William De La More, the Grand Master of the order. The preceptory at Temple Bruer, just South of Lincoln, was the second richest in England after the Temple itself. A tower of the Templar church survives. De La More died in the Tower.
I grew up in Lincoln so I know the cathedral well. If one goes into what I believe is called St Hugh's Choir and lift each seat (they are folding) and there are many of them you will find an ornate carving, I believe that no two carvings are the same. Is this the seventh hidden gem?👹 PS I've lived in Australia for over 50 years and I still have my brass Lincoln Imp door knocker.
The fist time I saw Lincoln Cathedral was at night, under a full moon, and it utterly blew my mind. It is the most beautiful building in the world.
Ohhh, how wonderful!
not if you live enear it the lights keep you awake
@@greentroll9326 No lights then - just the full moon. It was a while ago.

Would love to visit this cathedral, sadly my travel days are over. I go to google earth many times to see it up close.
Fascinating !!!
Great video

The carvings, (some of them very rude!), are called “miséricordes”. Well worth seeking out.
The service chapel is a must.
I have 28 'hidden gems' for thid cathedral
There is graffiti of a ship hidden not far from the cadaver tomb.
💜👑
Not exactly hidden are they?
They are if you don't know where to look!
