    Track 4 is one tuff climb all ways in the shade, every time we head out that way with 20+ bikes only 2 would make it to top, and that massive rock 3/4 the way up, is what stuffs most people up good times.

      Definitely is a good one mate. Would be fun on the bike too! Cheers

    Just found you blokes, nice to see well modded GQs on the hard tracks, and not a hilux in sight. Subbed.

    The riverbed of deep creek 1 seems to have been cleared of all boulders, especially at the rock step. Last time I went through there it was dodge the boulder and hard to get the GU lined up nicely to climb the step. Still a fantastic drive through there with the ferns. Not surprised that number 4 was closed to going down the big hill - that would just be a slippery slide in the winter, with a very bad result :)

    • @DanielKistler
      @DanielKistler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ein Felder yeah a couple years ago the whole track got fixed up which sucked haha it was so good before that! Number 4 was open we just had the wrong entry haha. There was some massive trees down but since they’ve logged up there it has a different entrance to 4 so we were in the wrong one haha

    How would some tall skinny tyres go on those rigs? Less stress on the driveline, lot less weight. Just asking as I just switched to skinnies on my cruiser and it feels more agile and still able. Must admit that I don’t do full on hard core like you boys.

    • @DanielKistler
      @DanielKistler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill McCarthy no idea mate. Havnt tested before. The tyres are already 35/37 so no real need to go taller but generally the tyres just come in a 12.5 wide. Not many tyres make a 35/37 any skinnier than that! But I would think the bigger the foot print on the ground the more traction you would get so A Skinner tyre wouldn’t be as good.

    • @billmccarthy5920
      @billmccarthy5920 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Kistler thanks for the reply mate, can get 35’s in 10.5. Would have thought that a wider footprint would lessen the traction? Smaller footprint equals more concentrated down force for the same mass. Anyhow, was just watching your wheeling and had that thought. Thanks again legend, more vids please!

    • @DanielKistler
      @DanielKistler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill McCarthy no worries mate, yeah just not in the tyres that I’d like to run. Well we air the tyres down a fair bit for a larger foot print for more traction but I can understand what your saying. Cheers mate, more videos will be coming!

    • @einfelder8262
      @einfelder8262 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billmccarthy5920 For any vehicle the friction created on the road surface is the same regardless of the tyre width. It's a function of the weight of the vehicle. When pressure is 10-15psi the wide tyres are probably better as they create a bigger concave section to give more bite. When you watch rock crawlers they never run skinny tyres.

    Is deep creek 4 the track that has notes about people dying on it, on the walhalla hard copy maps

      @@DanielKistler Yeah I just checked my wahalla map and it has a note about deep creek 1, saying it's a waste of time, dangerous and that people have died on it, is the track really that bad?????

    How do you go with petrol and water? I have a diesel 4runner and want power. Thinking 3rz and a hairdryer to keep it all hilux but am nervous going away from the little tractor engine 2.8

    • @DanielKistler
      @DanielKistler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rick Fletcher I personally have no problems with mine, never have. And I’ve done some bloody deep water crossings! All depends on what your trying to do with the car I guess!

    • @rickfletcher8422
      @rickfletcher8422 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Kistler I just watched your rig rundown and I think having those coils up where they are is a pretty clever idea! probably the reason you don’t have issues. I had a tb gq about 10 years ago but it did not like water at all, but still never even coughed until the water went over the bonnet!

    • @DanielKistler
      @DanielKistler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick Fletcher yeah it works well, I never really had a drama with water before but now I definitely don’t. Has never ever missed a beat under water, so it works well
