Thank you, Phil. I thought I was going to have to purchase Simply Applique until I found your video. Just bought a Scan n Cut and wasn't certain if I could use my Premier+ to make my life easier. I'm no novice to the software but always find it a little intimidating when I want to do something new. You're a great teacher and this tutorial is just what I needed today.
Thanks Phil You finally gave me an understanding of why the placement and check box work as they do. I work with precuts and could never get my head around why. But the beauty of the software lets me adapt so my precuts can work like a charm as well.
Phil, your are the best! I have been teaching Viking software since 2000 (Windows 3.1 version). Used the DOS version of the programs (Customizing and Digitizing). I absolutely love watching your videos. Even old dogs can learn new tricks. I learn something new every day ~ Especially from you!
Jeff & Sandi Mitchell you are kind. We are all still learning. I assisted in a class at convention last week and learned some great stuff. I still run every lesson I can get my hands on.
Thank you fill - read the manual - played around - however this explanation has finally cemented my understanding of this feature - in particular the match placement line function very grateful
you probably dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother during the lockdown xD
Hi Fill if I wanted to do a Applique with Batting & fusible backing for quilt Applique. Does my placement margin need to be 0 ? I'm not using a cutte. I'm just making a regular Applique for my quilt & want my Satin stitch to cover my trim job. Thankyou so much I've learned so much your a great teacher.
BRAVO!... I use wash away alot for patches and I want to make sure my satin stitch covers up everything. The Applique Piece Margin and Match Placement line in comparison to tack down stitch was WONDERFUL.... Thank you. Now how do you use your BSNC and cut fabric? Any Tips... My first try was a failure... If you don't mind. Thanks again.
Phil do you have a video on how to import sag files into premier plus 2 embroidery. I don’t know if it is possible. Right now I only have the free intro version as I am new to machine embroidery. Can you suggest which version I should upgrade to?
I thought this was really good information since I just purchased a Brother Scan n Cut. My question to you is, do you always have to use fusible (steam a seam 2) on the back of the fabric you are cutting with the cutter? If I don't put steam a seam on my fabric - the fabric seems to bunch up and will not cut.
@@PhilCarlton thanks for this video and I have watched this before. I just find steam a seam is very expensive when I am cutting several pieces of fabric and there is a fair amount of waste. I have not heard of Terial Magic but will check that out. The Scan n Cut I have is the DX250 so the blade is automatically set, but would I have to adjust it like the video says to?. Thanks again
Wondering if you could answer a question for me. I have Premier+2 Extra for Mac. I am taking a free course from Al Navas however the sessions are using Windows version. My question is in the design tab on the right side it shows a box for Notes a nd settings but nothing under that. In Al's sessions there is a box underneath that says Clipboard Overview. Why am I not seeing this in my version of the software?
Shirley - that’s just a difference in how the different versions was designed. The Mac has a clipboard, there just isn’t a screen that shows what is on it.

Thank you, this is a big help with my older designs to convert into an SVG file for my cricut.

@Layne Sawyer yea, been watching on instaflixxer for months myself :)
Excellent!
I do not have a cutter but am now very interested in getting one. I will then have to learn (visually) how to send my appliqué to it. 🤕
Phil, another wonderful tutorial!
Awesome video!!!
Thanks, Phil!
Thank you so much! I was about to tear my hair out and spend more money to buy Simply Applique to use my Scan n Cut with my Husqvarna! Dona

Hi Kim. If you aren’t using a cutter, then I would just leave the margin at 0.

Bugz Z Jamie - in a previous comment I linked to a video from Brother. I followed those steps and it made cutting fabric a breeze.

Also - i love Terial Magic - it's like starch on steroids. i either use Terial Magic or Steam a Seam 2 depending on the piece and my mood. ;)

@@gwenbrewer2489 I believe you shouldn't have to adjust the blade on the DX250, but I'm by no means an expert there.
Thank you for a very informative video. I have a question: What programme/appdo you use for recording your videos?
joeysmor Camtasia. I love it. They also have a screen capture program called SnagIt. It is fantastic.
