    Thanks for your answer, never thought of that might drag my engines out of my building for a couple seasons.

    Great job in 25 degrees. These engines speak to another time. In some respects, a better time.

    I go to my county fair just to see these engines. I still don’t understand the point of them running the way they do. But I love them anyway.

    Nice engine I watched the first video about this engine and I think it's really cool but it's a shame to it sit outside but nice engine

      with how simple it is outside doesnt hirt it any aslong as we keep it oiled and loose.

      @cruddycornstalks yeah I'm from NY where we usually try to keep the stuff inside bc the salt and piles of snow just eats away at the metal but keep up the good work I like your engine collection 👍

      @@americanclassichotrods574 im in iowa and we live on a gravel road so it never sees salt. if iwe where on a paved raod are salted our driveway then yes we would not be leaving it out

      @@cruddycornstalks yeah the way salt eats away at metal it sucks but whatever us engine enthusiast have to do to preserve these engines is what needs to be done because I just don't want to see any of these engines and tractors go to the scrap pile

    Ugh....would it be too much to ask for a tarp to keep it out of the elements??

    • @cruddycornstalks
      @cruddycornstalks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      tarps are worse as the hold in moisture and rub on the engines itself. nothing gets hurt sitting outside aslong as you have it setup right

    Cruddycornstalks hey where is the spark plug .. I see you bring a battery and a box ... what is the box and how do they run that way thanks so much

    • @cruddycornstalks
      @cruddycornstalks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they don't have a spark plug they use an igniter it basically used the pair of points in a distributor but there inside the combustion chamber and when they open they make a small spark. and the hit and miss part works by holding the exhaust open so when it isn't working it can coast and not use any fuel.

    Shame on you let an engine sit outside not even a tarp over it.

    • @cruddycornstalks
      @cruddycornstalks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      how would a tarp help it? theres nothing on it that getting hurt form sitting out and all a tarp would make critters sleep under it and make a mess , aswell as hold moisture under it, rub and put stress on anyparts that it rides on. the tarp would hurt it alot more then just sitting outside.

      Ya risk cracking the cooling hopper?

    • @cruddycornstalks
      @cruddycornstalks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Terry Breen may i ask how so? the drain plugs out so no water builds up inside to crack it

    • @terrybreen3331
      @terrybreen3331 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cruddycornstalks Ice can plug the drain, allowing more ice to build up inside. that's how flower pots often break in the winter. Place a large container upside-down over the hopper to keep precipitation out. Keep the engines and videos running. :)
