I was coming to comment the same thing. Glad someone else noticed it's insane to say a sharp descent is normal turbulence. I come from a family of pilots and also read about flight safety often before I fly. A similar sharp descent happened on this same flight UA613 Lagos to DC prior to this incident and also another Latam Airlines Boeing 787 in March 2024. The amount of corners Boeing must have cut to have constant stories like this in the news is sick.
If there was an emergency declared by the pilot as reported in Ivory Coast airspace why didn’t the pilot ask for permission to land the plane in Ivory Coast instead flying hours in the air back to Lagos ?
I googled United Airlines recent flight incidents, and they've had quite a few. Read "United Airlines timeline: A look at incidents from the airline this year." by USAToday, and "Air safety incidents for United " by Aero Inside. Personally, I won't fly United Airlines to anywhere because of their multiple flight incidents. I'm not sure why the man who spoke was minimizing the incident. If the incident wasn't serious, the pilot wouldn't have made the decision to return to Lagos. Thank GOD the flight returned safely to Lagos MMA. Glory to the Most High GOD, in JESUS' Mighty Name, Amen!
Kudos to the pilot, he took thr best decision to return back to base, some pilot will continue that turbulence is normal and end up having a fatal clash,Thank God for their safety
Exactly. No body is calling out American Airlines oh. If it were Air Peace or Arik all hell would be let lose. We are the most unpatriotic set of people I've seen.
They had to fly all the way back to Lagos? To avoid any further risks wasn't it safer to land the plane in Ivory Coast? Between Ivory Coast and Lagos, anything could have happened.
I’m American and was supposed to be on that flight. But God told me to change my flight. Actually I stayed and glad i wasn’t on that flight. Some peoples comments are just crazy. Have some humility sometimes.
My adult twins were on this flight. I just give all the praise to God for his intervention .
You seriously believe so?
@@w.w.8215 You think the pilot was in his seat alone? No he wasn't God was there just as God is everywhere
@ God again, had nothing to do with it.
Thank God they are all safe
It had nothing to do with God's intervention. It had to do with the experience of the flight crew.
I was supposed to be on this flight. I’m blessed God told me change my flight. And I did. Thank God for the others we’re safe.
To God be the glory, He will continue to save us from calamities.
hmm thank YOU JESUS FOR SPARING FAMILIES FROM SORROW🙏🙏
Thank you God. We will take the injuries but not loss of lives. We praise you Father

This is beyond just turbulence. Planes are built to withstand turbulence.
But it DID withstand this. It returned and landed. Did it not?
@@derrickrr5516who told you it’s turbulence.
@ Where did I even say that word? Please reply to the correct commenter.
@@derrickrr5516 sorry I was trying to respond to another trend.

Or Accra
Good question. Anything could have happened between Ivory Coast and Lagos.
Flying back to Lagos for an incident that happened over Ivory coast airspace suggests a business move for the airliner at that point

@@jcjohnson628 I googled how many Nigerian scams are reported and there seems to be quite a few.
NIGERIANS WOULDN'T SHOUT AND MAKE NOISE ONLINE,HAD IT BEEN AIR PEACE OR UNITED NIGERIA, NIGERIANS WILL BE SAYING UNPATRIOTIC UTTERANCES.
It is always better to wait for the outcome of the investigation. I hope the report will be made public.

Stop ✋️ flying from and to in winter time please 🙏!!!
Boeings usually fly straight into the ground.
😂 so they are afraid to die?
God may have been saying 'Stay in Africa...The US has tooooooo many of you people.'
Boeing of course
I assume ALL these Africans were headed to DC...in the winter...for a nice vacation. ?????
Why can't they just be returning to the U.S. after spending Christmas with family and friends? There's really no need for sarcasm.
