Such a sad story. When I was 11 I went to my first Arena league game. Schlichter was our QB for the Detroit Drive. He had 2 really nice seasons here, even got league MVP in 1990. The team was owned by Red Wings and future Tigers owner Mike Illitch. Mr. I really liked Art and did all he could to help him clean his life up, but it was to no avail. In 1992, Cincinnati got an expansion franchise and the Drive dealt him there to be closer to home and thinking maybe that would help. As we all know it didn't. Really a sad and pathetic story. Also don't think Art was the reason they won that championship. In terms of the Arena league, the Drive were loaded. 6 years in the league, every year they were in the championship game. Won 4 including 3 in a row in 88, 89, and 90. Won all 4 with 4 different quarterbacks.
Arts from my town and my grandparents are friends with his parents and ik a lot about him he was stealing from people since high school and college he stole from my grandparents saying he would pay them back but never did and after they wouldn’t give him money he would just take it ik something else about him but I don’t think I can say it on here
I just wish he'd pay back the $20 he turned into $40 back in 1982. Went to school with him. Miami Trace high his mom treated him like a little boy . Still shows in her interviews interviews. I don't think she would ever let him grow up either. 🤣
More proof that number of subscribers is not an indication of a channel's quality. This video is awful in so many ways I don't even know where to start.
The "narrator" should at least learn the correct pronunciation of the subjects name, the horse track.....and who knows how many other incorrect pronunciations. So far, only 45 seconds in.
No. A card is considered "rare" when few are available on the market. There were literally thousands of Schlichter cards printed during his time in the NFL. You can find them on eBay for about $1.50 a piece.
I'm definitely not surprised he's gambling in prison. I'm shocked he hasn't started running poker games, take a rake and the house always wins. Yes, running a game and collecting a rake is illegal but shit it's a lot less riskier than the shit he's tried.
The dude's an addict. Not a good mix. Like letting a meth addict run your meth business. He'd spend all his winnings betting on literally anything with odds.

gambling mugs game no sympathy because someone has lose for you to win. it breeds shady behavior because of the money involved.
Snitch and a thief. Can almost gaurantee he point shaved or even threw games in the NFL.
Slight correction: The Colts had moved to Indianapolis by the time they finally dumped Schlicter

He gambled in prison!!!!!
Gambling in prison is widespread. It is literally about the only thing to do.
Hahaha
That’s not how you pronounce it
why gamble IF you already have money ?
Because it's fun, and in some cases, addictive
Pronounced sleester
Another narrator who cannot pronounce his name.

Omg. You're so cool.
Can i get your autograph?
You are pronouncing his name horribly wrong. You are pronouncing the race track horribly wrong. You should research if you want to be a pro announcer.
So, would a Schlichter trading card be considered a rare since, his football career ended over his gambling addiction?!
I wouldn’t bet on it 🤣😂🤣🤣
@@bubbagambino7956 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not a fan of sports but, if it came down to me making a profit off of their trading cards, I'm hands deep.

Where was God's "comfort" 40 years ago when this all started? And he just got busted again today for cocaine. God was nowhere in sight, apparently.
@@michaeldobson107 he rejected it, kind of obvious when he rejects millions for stupid games
