The team was owned by Red Wings and future Tigers owner Mike Illitch. Mr. I really liked Art and did all he could to help him clean his life up, but it was to no avail. In 1992, Cincinnati got an expansion franchise and the Drive dealt him there to be closer to home and thinking maybe that would help. As we all know it didn't. Really a sad and pathetic story. Also don't think Art was the reason they won that championship. In terms of the Arena league, the Drive were loaded. 6 years in the league, every year they were in the championship game. Won 4 including 3 in a row in 88, 89, and 90. Won all 4 with 4 different quarterbacks.
Arts from my town and my grandparents are friends with his parents and ik a lot about him he was stealing from people since high school and college he stole from my grandparents saying he would pay them back but never did and after they wouldn’t give him money he would just take it ik something else about him but I don’t think I can say it on here
