If the Mets sign Alonso where does he hit in the lineup? So many people have him hitting cleanup but he isn’t a good enough hitter to bat cleanup without protection behind him. I’m thinking Lindor, Alonso, Soto (to protect Alonso), and Vientos as the top four. Thoughts?
I will type on TH-cam app. To clear my typing problems. I smoked two bowls and will go out screen door. Business Vacation/Plan: 1. I need to stop turning on lights because I don’t know the exact way to take care of a light problem. 2. As long as I type on TH-cam “1-3”s are not Stress or Parent related with Bob and Bib. 3. I will show you Bob and Bib now.
It’s not fair that players and agents can leak info or talk about negotiations etc but teams aren’t allowed to at all. We don’t know what dollar amount went along with the 3 years but it’s looking more and more like the Mets don’t really want him back. I think the Mets would sign up for the years but without opt outs. It’s prob an overpay at this point but I rather see a 5 year deal at 25-27.5 a year. Add an option if it’s deal breaker.
I'm a Big Mets fan , but let's be honest the team was not good until they made the playoffs and then we got Hot .We don't have Pete we are not as Deep in pitching as before. The only player we got was Soto. I am extremely nervous about this Team, what do you think
3 years at 90 is already an overpay. The guy had a 2.6 WAR last season, which was a drop from the season before that, which was a drop on the season before that. He turned down an extension which was more than fair and bet on himself, and then went out and had his worst season in every offensive measure. When you lose a bet, you didn't still get to cash out the chips you lost. I'm increasingly annoyed with Pete. He's the guy at the party who gets into a fight with his girlfriend and threatens to leave, but then never does.
If it's true that Boras proposed to the Mets the 3 year deal with opt outs. Then it's on the Mets to make the final decision. My guess is that it's the amount that Boras proposed to the Mets, which would be above $30m a year. I mean, if we're off by $1m, then get it done already.
Funny that a mets pod is complaining about dodgers fatigue because they get a lot of the top players when the mets have spent like crazy in the past couple years
It's unreal but the Mets only big move was signing SOTO, which allegedly was a Cohen push and not Stearns. Tell me again what have we done to improve the starting pitching, lineup, bullpen? I'm sorry, but signing SOTO is not the win everyone thinks it is when you have done zero the rest of the way while other teams have sniped players under your nose. So far this has been a bad off season, resigning Alonso is not an addition, its literally trying keep the team from last year together. SMH
The dude isn’t in that top tier, nor is there a contender flushed with cash waiting in the wings. The Market dictated his value. He has no sense of his market value. It's the norm that people don't improve as they get older, they decline at a certain age.
Too bad on Sasaki if it's true he's not going to the Mets. That would've been the cherry on top of the cake. That would've been the sweetest splash to go together with the Soto signing. Well?.....I guess we can dream. Let him goto the blue Jays then. I'm still not giving up until the reports come out that he signed with whatever team.
Blue Jays 1 Padres 2 We don't need him to join Othani, Yamamoto and Snell. I know if Stearns and Cohen miss out on Sasaki, I can trust that they know how to bounce back with another move.
ALONSO does not deserve to be treated like he was part of the mlb dumpster by CHEAPSKATE MINI MARKET STEARNS. As for SANTANDER,TANNER SCOTT or BREGMAN signing with the METS; FORGET IT!! The only way any of these players will sign with the METS is if STEVE COHEN finally puts the hammer down on CHEAPSKATE STEARNS and does the negotiating and signing himself like he did with JUAN SOTO.
Alonso and Boras clearly couldn't get a better offer than the $90M, 3 year deal the Mets already offered - the Mets should stick with that one. No reason to bid against themselves.
Here’s an idea: sign the player you previously offered for the term of years you previously offered AND pay him some kind of premium for having been a good Met through his career under circumstances in which he was NOT allowed to enter the market? Bidding against themselves? I’d call it good will. Toward the player, toward the fans and in the best interests of the team.
I don't believe any of this nonsense. This is all posturing. Why would the Mets give Pete a contract with a high AAV if no other team is even in the hunt? Again, makes no sense!
I genuinely feel like vomiting tolerating this chopped up hypothetical of Santander and Alonzo versus Tanner Scott and then you forget that Alonzo was part of your hypothetical and then you're assuming staneck is back and just throwing Winker around. That's a waste
Get Santander, and when catchers and pitchers have to report , Alonso will sign ! Or take a lesser offer or sign with a team going nowhere ! ….. as long as the Mets leave something on the table😊stearns is covered !
The Mets offer to Teoscar Hernandez was kind-of " If you want a guaranteed no, don't ask" kind of offer. I really don't think the Mets really thought they could snare Teoscar on a 2-year deal.
Give me the Scott side. Elite LHRP is exactly what they need and much harder to find and much more expensive at the deadline.
Santander for sure!!!
Why is the discussion Pete + Santander OR Pete + Tanner Scott? Why not all three? I don’t get it.
Because the MLB is not 7-11.
Loved the Santander vs. Scott debate, but answer is both. Those are kind of upgrades that only costs money. Flex your advantage.
But give me Tanner Scott, bc I think they can get 80 or 90% of AS with Winker/Marte platoon.
@@ryangreeney7413 Scott should be a must

Is The Mets Pod planning a road trip to PSL for the spring training opener??
Why with all the money cohen has, that it’s taking Stearns so long to sign Pete, Santander and another good pitcher?

Nobody believed Sasaki was coming here or the Yankees.

Don’t mind the 3 years but I feel the opt out should be after 2nd year, not first.

I truly believe the Mets should make a trade for Fernando Tatis. SD is a mess with the ongoing litigation. What say you? 🔥💙🧡💙🧡🙏🙏

If Pete signs to the Yankees I would be pissed. Make a deal now before it’s too late. We need him to back up soto.

Paying more now for that future flexibility is worth it

Give a date end this drama with pete
Funny that a mets pod is complaining about dodgers fatigue because they get a lot of the top players when the mets have spent like crazy in the past couple years
A short term deal is best for him. He can opt out next year and find a real team.
It's unreal but the Mets only big move was signing SOTO, which allegedly was a Cohen push and not Stearns. Tell me again what have we done to improve the starting pitching, lineup, bullpen? Alonso + Santander. For the love of god, please make it happen Stearns. 🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Stearns is a Walmart shopper.

Who would want Pete for 5 yrs? His profile is unlikely to age well in his mid 30s
Why?
This whole pete drama needs to end one way or the other
We don’t have a team. Third or fourth place. Dodgers again for the WS.
I don't believe any of this nonsense. This is all posturing. Why would the Mets give Pete a contract with a high AAV if no other team is even in the hunt? Again, makes no sense!
Can not be prospects forever, get Pete and Tanner

I just can’t be excited about this team with this starting staff
Santander + Stanyk and other mid level reliever ... instead of Scott
The Mets offered 3. Pete wants 3. What's stalling now?
It's Stearns waiting it out cause no one else is gonna sign Pete and they want Pete after their price point
Forget flexibility...how bout winning

He is not worth more than 27 per year. Go in - house.
My phone charger area in living room and my bedroom are set.
5 years 150m player opt out after 2nd year team opt out after 3rd year
Lol, why would they offer 5 years?
