Pipe cleaners work really well at cleaning the flint tube out as they bend if it is a flint tube that bends.

Hey! I recently purchased a vintage Wedgwood lighter. I was wondering how to repair the flint?

I have a 18k gold plated Mayfair lift arm lighter that I've been trying to find out how to change the wick. Even though it still works with the one it has I would like to put a new one in there soon but there's not a lot of information online for my type of lighter.

So, are you talking about a different Mayfair than this Ronson?✌️

Amazing video! Im repairing a similar ronson style table lighter my grandpa gave me that he got in japan while serving in vietnam war. I followed all of these yet the wheel still isnt spinning. The flint is cleared and thumb press is timed properly. Im so confused 😭

Sounds like a problem with the clutch spring. Either it has failed or has been reassembled incorrectly.✌️

Do you know how to fix the princess house table lighters? Mine has spark but doesn’t light. I drained the butane to refill and still doesn’t light. Thank you!

I do not work on butane lighters at all. The vast majority of old butane lighters leak gas from at least one end.✌️

Hello I know this post is a year old but I hope you’ll still see this, I’m having trouble restoring my grandpa’s 1960’s 70’s tiki table top lighter I know it’s not that expensive but it’s a sentimental heirloom. I’ve having trouble finding wick small enough and feeding it threw the lighter the wire keeps snapping. Any tips?

The Ebay seller david2052 sells wicks of varying diameters including smaller ones. This article contains a link to purchase those and many other petrol lighter wicks:

I have changed the wick and cleared the flint tube but the 60s flat lighter only lights up every 5 flicks! Could it be that the flint is lower than the wick or that the flint doesn't spark big enough? Any ideas or insight is greatly appreciated. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!

Chances are the old flint has adhered to the file wheel, clogging up the grooves and making it less effective. You could also still have old flint dust clinging to the walls of the tube causing an obstruction.✌️

@@DependableFlame That might be it! I didn't clean it up but will do very soon. The spark is kinda weak also. TY for the reply and more power to you. Please keep those videos coming... they are very inspiring! Best regards.

@@DependableFlame As for the tube, I have cleared it just like you using a couple of the correct drill bits. I am confident (I looked through them) they are clean.

I recently found a ronson crown table lighter. I followed your video on how to take apart and put together, but I found out that the clutch plate is broken.
