He is too cute!! I have a question... Do the worms go in and out of the baskets back into the soil? What would happen if they were put into a compost pile in the making? I'm barely starting my composting and am curious if I could just add them to that!
Thanks! My worms are basically free range, so I imagine some will leave and never return. But I figure as long as I feed them and keep the space from getting too hot and dry, most will stick around. I wouldn’t add worms to an existing compost pile because it can get pretty hot in a big pile. Worm composting is shallow so that the heat can escape, and has less of the green to brown ratio. Although honestly I don’t focus on the ratio for the worms. I just try not to over feed them. Good luck!
