You need to check the printer to see if the WIFI light is steady and no longer flashing as it may have already been connected sometime after the printer is connected the app may have technical issue to complete the setup, you can close the app and start HP SMART APP again and select printer already connected to a WIFI Network to see if it work. Another option is to put the printer in a wireless mode by press the cancel button and WIFI button together simultaneously for 3 second then search and connect the printer again by selection option one foe a new printer connection.

E what? E1 or E2? it is an error message check and make sure you have select correct size of the paper when printing
