I think the mother dog can jump out if she chooses. I think they want to nurse and maybe she doesn't want to nurse them. They are pretty big. Not sure what is going on here.

then you know nothing about dogs... If she wanted to be near the puppies she would've settled down outside the nest with him. Lastly, you don't think she could've grabbed them by their necks and pulled them into the nest? Not one time did she attempt to bring them into the box with her...

She want them in the box and this is what matters, what she wants and how she feels safe. We human know that there is no danger, but for her it feels like her puppies are in danger amd that stresses her. There is no reason to let her feel this way. Letting her feel like her puppies are in danger is in fact animal abuse, because this Situation can be changed so easily
