The MV7 is finally interesting now! Now it has a very interesting use for podcast. I remember being impressed with an obscure mic now that had almost the same function, the Samson G track (the original) had a line/instrument input with controls on the mic body as well as a headphone jack. Pretty great mics! But the software for the Mv7i is such a nice bonus. I love it when mics can do more than just being a mic!
That's awesome and it's great for Shure to reach out to you with there stuff to show all of us everything we need to buy!! Great to see you with your son as well!
This is freaking COOL! Like seriously awesome!! Although the price point is still cresting that point that makes it a hard purchase for most. But you are getting A LOT for your money. Great video! Conor was awesome!
@ Is there a way to run the two mics into a mixer? Monitor each other? And make it so 3 peeps can do a podcast and all hear each other? Just curious because I need to get a third person in my studio for some podcasts I’m doing for PTSD in the first responder world.
That's. amazing! That could be super useful for recording 2 people at the same time. It'd be cool if they capture this same idea with shotgun mics too!
OK, this is pretty cool. Combo jack can plug a guitar into it for a singer songwriter type. The gain match thing is like dummy proofing the process. I could have sworn there was another mic that had an input on it, but this is pretty awesome. And I just downloaded the bacon game... there goes any productivity for the next few days...
Very Cool, Thanks Bark. I'm glad you're working with Shure. I wonder if you can daisy-chain more than 2. REALLY NICE that it's a combo jack - you/one could use that for so many different types of sources . . . A small tabletop headphone DA would be a nice companion. And Connor seems great, enjoy that time. peace
MV7 is my daily driver. I like this one, but wish there was an MV7 in black with black Shure font like the SM7DB. I use both XLR and USB (as a backup for Teams)
IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS Great review as always. While the new Daisy Chain MV7 is nice, I'm more curious about where you got that sweet shock mount. I prolly missed it in earlier videos.
This is what I want to see in 2025. Brands to actually think of new ways to simplify multiple audio inputs. I can understand the pricing considering the capability of the mic and the interface together, and that's not even including the software. I'd be curious to see what other brands do with this concept. Maybe a mic USB-C output but also has USB-C input so the daisy chained mic can still monitor on its own body if it's just plug and play (I'm predicting in 2026, Fifine would have something in the Ampligame line that will do it)
Quite innovative. I’m not sure this product has a huge market though. Beginners would probably just start with a cheap interface and two handheld mics, while more advanced users would probably want a Rodecaster. Personally, I’d prefer being able to control settings with knobs instead of software. It is an interesting option. Maybe if it were cheaper.
@ I just remembered that two RodeX XCM-50 mics would do the same, but have two independent headphones for less money. (But then again, you’d need to install the Rode Unify software.)
🌋 Kapow! Mind blown. This is really innovative. It will be fascinating to see how the market pivots as a result of this product. Shoutout to Connor for helping.
Not what I was hoping for... Was looking for a mic that output BOTH the USB and the XLR at the same time. I need the USB mic for work computer and XLR for personal computer. Tired of having two mics when one would do.
Yikes! Flacid boomerm. This is actually cool. Particularly neato that it's an dually input w/ instrument in. Will it drive an SM7b? MV7i + MV7x seems like the perfect pairing!
mmm nice video thanx. Mv7 cost $180, mv7i cost $350usd and 400 euros in Europe. Shure wants to charge us between $170 and $220 for an interface where you can't connect two pairs of headphones. It's smarter to buy a Scarlett Focusrite. Better features, you can connect two headphones, and you don't have all the cables cluttering up the space in front of the camera. or another shure independent interface for mic 2.
Do not disagree. I definitely think this is for the traveler, or for someone who is very into minimalism like myself. $299 would’ve been the sweet spot IMO
Everything’s gonna be ok little buddy - and please for the love of god remove my channel from being recommended. Not a fan of negative miserable people who can’t just move on when they don’t like something, but rather spread their misery.
Duuuuuuuude!!! A perfect solution for 2 people who want a podcast. Simple plus quality !!!
100%. The most practical mic for that scenario….ever

The G Track is still a really cool mic. Loved the last version of it
I have never been more jealous of a child's christmas present until today and Connor is absolutely adorable.
He’s a beam of light. Happiest kid ever and insanely literal. I need to enlist his help more
That's awesome and it's great for Shure to reach out to you with there stuff to show all of us everything we need to buy!! Great to see you with your son as well!

Yeah I think this mic is gonna make a lot of people really happy. Minimalism is the theme of 2025!

I know the podtrak and the behringer uphoria. This just sounds cool and versatile
You know when Shure send you mike your moving on up. Great review as always Bark thank you.
Thank you sir!
I was just about to get the mv7+ but thank God I waited for this video!
Crisis averted
Im a wait for the 400 dollar version
@theoutsiderjess1869 lol
What a great mic and presentation! Love the demo with your kid - really demonstrates the sound quality and level matching perfectly
Thank you! He's an awesome helper
That's a freaking amazing feature. Especially for travel. Less equipment for 2 people.
Absolutely
That's. amazing! That could be super useful for recording 2 people at the same time. It'd be cool if they capture this same idea with shotgun mics too!

I ordered an XLR splitter to see if 3 is an option
@@ObscureMics

Insanely good idea.... god damnit. I dont even need this and want it just because its sooo cool.

Your conversation with your son was wonderful!!
Excellent video as always.
Good luck in 2025!
Appreciate it! He's very helpful and just a pure joy day in and day out
new you say, thank God I stayed up for it. So you got a few, send one over here.
A few? Chainsaws?
Very cool. This could make it easy to start doing ASMR. I might need one
Ahhhh yeah. Super easy stereo setup
That Dave chapelle reference was sick 😅😂😂
That shit is ingrained on my soul
So do both inputs only output as one single track, or can you save them as separate tracks for editing in a DAW?
You can save them as multi track. There’s an option in the software
MV7 is my daily driver. I like this one, but wish there was an MV7 in black with black Shure font like the SM7DB. I use both XLR and USB (as a backup for Teams)
As many as they’ve released….a blackout version would indeed be nice

Sterling sm5. Discontinued but still a few out there 🤘

It’s shure. The mv7 line is a massive hit, so being realistic…this will a lot right into place. I’m also a knobs and sliders guy but I enjoy this too

Yeah it's probably the most innovative thing I've seen since the Samson G Track which did half of this
Very good. The problem is that for the Brazilian market this microphone costs 10 kidneys.
Sad but true
Thanks for making this video. Can you use 2 MV7i's so each person can have a headphone jack (instead of your suggested splitter option)?
Good question. I assume the software would recognize 2….but without having 2..I’m not sure
Whacko. Can it drive a gain hungry SM7B alone or with a cloud lifter? Pretty impressive though.
Yep. 60db of gain
Not what I was hoping for... Was looking for a mic that output BOTH the USB and the XLR at the same time. I need the USB mic for work computer and XLR for personal computer. Tired of having two mics when one would do.

Yeah it has 60db of gain. I’ll probably do a quick sm7b video with it
Daisy-chained microphones. Funky.
I dig it
When you first flashed (!) the backside (!!) of the mic, I THOUGHT I saw a female XLR, and I thought, "What? An input???" Cool!
That was how I felt the first time I saw it….i was like WAIT…it’s not just another mv7!
Nice nice!! I play drums by the way 🎉 let’s virtual jam sometime 🔥⚡️
I have so many tracks I need drums for !
@@ObscureMics I can do it! Ive got the mics and studio to make it sound great! how do we do this?

Nah the price reaching sm7b money and It doesnt even work on ps5
Do most mics work on ps5?
@@ObscureMics alot of usb mics do even the podmic usb technically does except your voice is nonexistent because they didnt add a volume knob.
I wish the would do away with that huge ugly oversized yoke.
