Such enthusiasm at the end there, haha. Must have been tired. Lovely shots, Paul!
Haha 😂 thanks man yeah it was a long day old boy 🤣
Great images Paul! Hopefully Port Renfrew will be just as giving for us.🤞
Thanks Nathan Fingers crossed mate 😁✌️
Fantastic conditions Paul. You captured the Godrays perfectly and good choice of exposure. Your histogram was over to the left so no chance of burning out those bright shafts of light.
Congratulations on containing your emotions making the video. It made me smile 😃. I really enjoyed the video.
Thanks so much man really appreciate the feedback 😁✌️🙏
Paul, I really like the way you work with what you have in front of you.
Thank you 🙏
Stunning with those light rays. Like some magical world.
Thank you so much 😁✌️
Yes, without doubt some of your best images!
Thanks Andy 😁✌️
Absolutely incredible location. On my list for sure. Extremely informative video. Keep them coming.
Thanks so much John 😁✌️
8:09 - Wow! The light here is self-evident but I also love the subtle color temperature shifts from the cool cast with the foliage in shade vs the greens getting hit by warm light light. Unbelievable photo!
Thank you so much 😁✌️
Nice mood in this video. Looks like an amazing place and great to see they’ve resisted in not chopping these beautiful creatures down
Thanks so much mate yes it’s definitely a good thing for sure 😁✌️
Excellent conditions, cracking film footage catching the light rays, and the images are stunning. I especially love the 16x9/pano version.
Thanks so much Paul 😁✌️
13:00 unbelievable scene
Thank you 😁✌️
Awesome Paul. Glad you got to experience this special place!
Thanks so much buddy 😁✌️
I thank Adam Gibbs for introducing you to me in his videos. You do a really nice job explaining how you compose your pictures. Very nice compositions. 👏
Thank you so much Luis 😁✌️
Beautiful, Paul. We have Redwood forest plantations here in Victoria, planted as experiments 150+ years ago, but not as big as some as you have shown naturally. fog light ... Amazing
Thanks David 😁✌️
Wow Paul, just wow. Amazing photo`s mate.🙂✌
Thanks so much Peter 😁✌️
Nice one mate, of course shooting when the conditions are that good is essentially cheating 😂❤
Haha thanks mate 😂🤣
You’re only jealous 🤣
@@WildLightLandscapes 💯
@@Alister_Benn haha 😂 ❤️✌️
I was going to say “lucky b***er” but they probably checked all the weather apps and knew it was going to happen. #envy. 😊
@@PaulEvans haha 😂 When we first arrived it was just pure luck it was happening but the next couple of days we had figured out how things worked regarding the conditions 😁✌️
Fantastic video and images Paul. Pure magic!
Thanks William 😁✌️
The fog really gave these shots a 3D effect. Loved the lighting.
Thanks George 😁✌️
Where I live, fog almost never blows as far into the forest. The only place with substantial fog is usually the outer edge of the woodlands around here.
Excellent work, Paul! I have not visited that part of the country for probably 40 years. I must return soon with my Nikon! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks so much Larry it certainly is beautiful 😁✌️
Thanks so much Paul! These images are stunning!
Thank you so much 😊
I really can’t thank you enough for such interactive content;
So tricky to find good comps when random light rays last a few seconds but I love that last one.
Thanks man 😁✌️
Love your opening shot at 0:09! Unique and stunning!
Thank you so much 😁✌️
May…weeeeee buddy! Unbelievable. I can’t really pick out 1 particular shot. So happy for you that you got them conditions
Thanks mate ✌️
Nice one paul perfect conditions
Thanks Man 😁✌️
Amazing conditions and photographs, well done Paul. 🤩👏👏👏
Thanks so much man 😁✌️
Brilliant work 👍
Thanks Chris 😁✌️
Amazing photos Paul!
Thanks so much Brian 😁✌️
Super ☺
Thank you 🙏
stunning!
Thank you 🙏
Really nice show!
Thank you 😊 ✌️
I'll go with the 4:3 crop on the first one because the path gives a context. That appeals to my artistic senses better.
Mate! That video camera you're using has serious 3D pop!
Thanks Trevor 😁✌️
What's up Paul? This is abut my third video, and I like the work you do. I think you have a very good eye for composition. Like Gavin, you have a good eye for color balance also. Really good stuff Paul! Peace!
Thanks so much Michael much appreciated ✌️
Great work. Really great work. What joy it must have been! Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much it sure was 😁✌️
Superb
Thanks so much 🙏
Perhaps better said as best so far? Great stuff - love that "have to get up early Paul" bit by Adam but truly it is one of the best times but also very hard in summer as it is really early ! Inspiring work!
Thanks so much Greg 😁✌️
greate shots man!
Thank you so much 😁✌️
I grew up in the redwoods so I'm not surprised that you got perfect photographic conditions there. Beautiful images!
Thanks so much Gary beautiful area 😁✌️
Absolutely stunning Paul. The kind of conditions you dream about. I'd have had that little voice in my head saying "don't mess this up. don't mess this up", but you totally nailed those shots.
Haha I did indeed mate 😂 Thanks so much man really appreciate it 😁✌️
Really nice video and like that you are sharing how you make these amazing photos.
Thank you so much 😁✌️
Beautiful work there Paul!! I paid close attention to your settings but didn't see the focal length of lens used? I'll be there in May this year and am trying to absorb as much as I can before I leave.
Thanks so much my two most used lenses on that trip was 35-70 and 100-200 but bear in mind that is on medium format. Have a great trip 😁✌️
Great images Paul! I'm glad you were able to witness and capture that amazing light.
Thanks so much Christopher 😁✌️
Spectacular images, it must have been hard not to run around looking for more compositions 👌
Thanks Phil it sure was 😁✌️
Hi Paul.... amazing video, stunning images and what a location.
Is that the Navarro redwoods, i met an American couple in Edinburgh last week whilst having a beer and they showed me images of that forest and curious if its the same one.
For me i like both the first set of images for the difference you mentioned if i had to choose it woybe the pano crop.
Great content Paul 🙂👍
Thanks Brian no these were the California redwoods not sure exactly where the Navarro redwoods are to be honest but definitely not in the area we were. Cheers man ✌️

Beautiful shots Paul! I was able to visit the Redwoods way back in 2004 and to me it felt as if I had traveled back in time. I was almost expecting to see a dinosaur around the next bend on the trail. I can't imagine how it must have been to see those giants in that fog and sunlight.
Thanks so much yes it was an amazing experience for sure 😁✌️
Fantastic video and amazing photos! One question. The depth of field doesn’t seem to be an issue at all, Why have you chosen shooting at ISO 1000 f/16 instead of lowering the ISO and opening the aperture at f/8 for example? Thanks.
Hi thanks so much that’s because I shoot medium format and depth of field is far less as a result. That’s why I chose the settings I did however there is no right and wrong and it is very much up to the photographer to decide how to capture the information. As long as you get the result that you are trying to create 😁✌️
@@WildLightLandscapes thanks for the reply. I thought you were shooting with a Fuji X series
Yes yes ..marvellisio worX Paul. Little after the vid release here but nature takes its time for the sweet saplings :). Also just been watching the vid. with pal Adam chatting edits outhere - [sitting with your Book-Laptops in the woods]. Curiously: What is the RAM juice do guys find sweet spot: 16gb or 32gb for edit fluidity? wild ellos from SA.
Thanks so much I manage with 16gb no problem but I guess the more the better for future proofing 😁✌️

Beautiful . Do you know the name of the bird heard in the background ( steady , intermittent whistle ) ? I've heard those on the coast there as well .
Nevermind - just found it . Varied Thrush ! Such a haunting sound but so fitting for these deep forests !
Thank you yes it’s a beautiful sound in the forests 🌳
What app do you use on your phone for a android phone
It’s a third party device for iPhone that shows my screen not an app. Accsoon Seemo 😁✌️
Which lens are you using?
@@AudreyR-f5v 35-70mm
Wich shuttermode you uses on the GFX ? mechanical or electronical ? Great Worrk !
Many thanks I use EFE 😁✌️
What time did you go? Im thinking of going first week of june next year. Trying to pinpoint the best time to see the rhodies in full bloom
I went in June 👍
I like the 4x3 much better. It looks more “majestic” which is the way all giant redwoods should look.
Thanks David 😁✌️
