Struggling, a young man living on the streets of Chicago--alone. Freezing cold, no winter coat, virtually homeless and hungry but determined to become a writer one day. When I Google this ARTIST , and saw that these were early 80's songs. I said damn I was 14 and now 54. I was a old soul with the music thing then & now.
John McCullough , I encourage you to listen to Earth, Wind, & Fire...Songs like “Earth, Wind & Fire”, “Burnin Bush”, “Imagination”, “Freedom of Choice”, “Love Is (The Greatest Glory)”, “That’s the Way of The World”, “Touch the World”, “In the Stone”, “Gratitude”, “Changing Times”, “Shining Star”, “Heritage”,...This group as you may already know has such a vast menagerie of music across so many genre’s that there are plenty of more songs to choose from as far as positive motivation is concerned! They always leaned towards the positive in their music!...

this song woke me up ,''my youth has returned ''my eldest daughter played this in her car after valentine's day DINNER,''it touched me in away that touched my soul,'' in a positive way ,''i use to play in my car when they were small ,taking them to school she is 54 yrs of age,''i am greatful & thankful for everything I HAVE,' &',now I can continue too help others, which is my passion!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was moved by reading so many of the comments. Ronald Childs is an earth-shaker of an inspirational JOURNEY..wow!!!! Thank God. Helen Reyes wrote, :Back when artists actually told a story and cared about sharing an inspirational message to everyone. So true. Mr D Train, I pray the artist of today follow your on music that builds. Every line of the Lyrics is lifting and feeding my soul. "Search deep inside, and you will see." And then bridge is spanking with grooves and echos. "Sky is the limit" I can relate to so many comments that say this song brings tears and emotions. Thanks Mr D Train..... Lagos Oct 2021
I love D-Train... Im only 29. but I see the 80's music was on point and still is.. as a student of the game, you gotta start in your history to understand the present and thusly know your future..
This man was ahead of his time musically, I will also LOVE Mr. D Train for his music regarding positivity, never giving up and LOVE. LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU MR. D TRAIN!🙏🎶❤
Adore this song and remembering dancing at clubs and feeling so much joy and happiness and such a good connection with everyone on the dance floor, having such fun and letting loose!!!!

Tonight is the first time I listened to D Train. In fact, D Train is better than the one I rode between Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Bronx. This song sounds great and has a proper message!
This may song I played in 1987 going on a job interview, I nailed the job. This phenomenal legend has a good Spirit of encouragement. Play this song, miracles will come to pass. i guarantee you!
Mike Lloyd My sentiments exactly. As kids these were just sounds we used to dance to in the Clubs but when you listen back to the Funk of the 70's and 80's you realise that it was laden with instruction's on how to think and progress in life, something bands like Earth Wind and Fire did brilliantly. These messages are sadly missing in what we term as music is this modern age, the younger generation have been badly served in this new deliberately dumbed down century.
Mike Lloyd Powerful and very clever track.....James 'D Train' Williams was a great singer....the power behind this beat is electric. The track easily defies its age of OVER 30 years....amazing.
Thank you D-Train for this awesome song. I rocked this song in the 80's & still rocking it in 2021!!! It's motivational and inspiring. Thank you a million times. D-Train!!
No matter what road you are traveling down, sometimes you can stop and rest, but never give up because in order to reach your destination, you gotta KEEP ON!!! 💯😎

I love D Train!!! what encouragement, and inspiring, it is written in the Holy Scriptures, "Iron sharpeneth Iron" even that song "You're the one for me" It's aweome! God bless u and urz beloved-

Another CLASSIC NYC production, and original foundation for house music...after hours at the Paradise Garage, then early afternoon a short walk from there to nearby Washington Square in Greenwich Village for Sunday afternoon parties under a cloud of ganja and unreal surround sound from by multiple boxes tuned to the same WBLS, KISS FM & KTU supermixes. Outdoor skating in Central Park to the boxes (to this day search using "central park skaters after party" on the tube) HOO!

another GREAT one by James D Train Davis !! why doesn't somebody - Justin? Bruno? - bring this music back? people will be dancing again. and not like they do now.
Send this song to our then 23 year old grandson who had just landed a job with a well known sport company fresh out college.Needless to say that job didn’t workout the way he planned. Told him to listen carefully to the words of this song. Keep on trying until you reach your goal. He said bought him through some depressed moments. Song was big in the 70’s. I still listen to it today. Makes good walking music. Upbeat Mr. D-Train.
*Idk who needs to hear This but DON'T look back!! Focus on the road ahead & keep pushing until you reach your goal/dreams!! No matter how big or small you may think it is, KEEP GOING!!!* 😎😎😎😎

Do not forget them old roller rinks like Empire in Prospect Park. Almost every kid who lived in Brooklyn was skating (boucing) to this tune.
@@dalemcilwain Crown heights. Actually. Up the block from Ebbets field
This song played in my head all morning. I had to listen to it multiple times. So inspirational and it’s a “jam”.

Still loving and listening in 2024!
I can't believe he was only 21 when he did this song. He sounds much older and soulful!
Try playing football when he was in his prime. Where do you think he got the name Dtrain. Thats what it felt like when he hit you!!!
Yes he sounds older. What an encouraging song.
Darn what good job he did good you need to come back fans give your high five.
Dedrick McCvulnerableitonnell
is he still alive?
Still listenning 2022 and ever!!🇧🇷🇧🇷 a big hug from Brazil to everyone

Mike Lloyd
My sentiments exactly.
***** Brilliant comment from a young 56-year-old.....I bought this when it came out....played it to death.
Hearing this today, made me realize that this song kept me from giving up as a kid.

+Will D I was just thinking that to myself about this song! With the house music. Miss house especially the old house from late 80's to 90's.
Indeed. The Paradise Garage. A classic venue...just like D Train and this song.
Philadelphia Eagles all of you. I can't get out on the feild too old for that. Thanks for letting my father see a Super Bowl win before he died this year in January. New team new opportunities. One of the most inspirational songs ever, loved this song as a kid and still do today.
Upbeat Mr. D-Train.
