Been running in Injinji for about 5 years. I also wear them to work. Lol. Love them! Just like Altra’s ideas about “toe splay” it seems to prevent my toes from bunching up. I don’t wear them for blisters. Just to spread my toes.

Kind of a sad commentary on the state of modern footwear when something designed to be worn on a human foot, shaped like a human foot, is considered “weird.” You mentioned your left foot being something of a “club foot” due to spending so much time in running shoes... why don’t we think it’s “weird” that modern running shoes are deforming our feet?

I wear their "base layer" version for long distance trail runs. I'll wear some regular trail socks over the Injinjis and I find that helps prevent blisters when trail running on technical surfaces where your feet are going in all sorts of directions. For road running, I don't get blisters so don't worry about them. I have weird feet and didn't think the Injinjis would fit, but somehow they are perfect.

I've been wearing the short version for over a year now, so far the most comfortable running socks for me, and help minimize blisters. They felt thicker than most regular running socks, but still comfortable here in Jakarta during the hottest of days.

Balega looks similar turned inside out. I tried Injinji and they elude me in the same way, Mike. Unless you're someone who has constant blister issues, I don't see the real benefit. Also, I would think the mitten vs. glove argument applies here, so toe socks would not be the ideal choice for cold weather. On the other hand, would they be ideal for very hot temps? Hmm.🤔 Probably. Still a pass for me.

Don’t wear anything else for running.
Zero blisters, no bleeding toes (were nails dig into other toes). Cooler feet due to the sweat wicking between the toes.
My only complaint is their compression version - it’s far too long and almost goes over my knees.

I've run in Injinji socks for almost 10 years now. I have two toes that basically interlock and rub together so much on runs that anything >5 miles is guaranteed to result in bleeding. My local run shop recommended them, and though I was apprehensive of paying so much for a pair of socks, they're they only thing I've run in since.
The only downside is I have Raynaud's disease and the Injinjis don't keep my toes as warm as a traditional sock, so they feel numb not long into runs in really cold weather. It's tolerable, but uncomfortable. This winter I'm going to try wearing a pair of Injinji liner socks with a pair of WrightSocks over them and see if it makes any difference.

Not weird. Brilliant. I look at everyone else now who wears normals socks and think of them as peasants. These 100% prevent blisters and are the best for active use. I have some other brand toe socks with grippy soles that I use for yoga classes in winter sometimes. Like you say, I can’t say I’ve totally fallen in love with them and they’re a pain in rear end to put on. It probably doesn’t help that my toes are crooked and misshapen from being stuffed into running and cycling shoes that were probably too small with the benefit of hindsight. Bombas and Balega socks look the same on the inside and I love both of those brands for running.

Sadly for most runners the socks only shine if you adapt to the barefoot/ minimalist ethos. I think Altra shoes are the gateway and then as your feet gain strength you get even wider and more minimal shoes and that’s where these socks become a MUST HAVE.
I’m at the point where my toes are gaining a lot of strength (even the pinky toe) and wearing “traditional” socks for an extended period of time would be a huge setback and just feel straight up uncomfortable

I think people tend to conflate zero drop and minimalist, which is unfortunate because I think that really hurts Altra position in the marketplace

@@kofuzi there are soooo many issues when it comes to marketing and branding in the minimalist/ barefoot market. Its been around but is still so young and it’s culture is so niche. You can’t sell the shoe if you don’t sell the ideology behind it so it’s a huge uphill battle lol
The psychology of modern fashion, and how it’s influenced podiatrist/ orthopedics and sports has a chokehold on our relationship to our feet, bodies, and movement itself. There’s too much to unpack and too much homework for the average customer or runner.

    i use Decathlon '5-finger' socks.
It helps preventing my toes rubbing each other causing blisters esp in snug fit shoes, and hiking boots 👍

Michael, I love these socks and it’s the only kind of socks I use when I run whether is warm or cold. I’m blister prone between my toes and used to have to wrap every single toe individually to keep blisters away, until I discovered these socks. They are worth every penny on my book. I also wear them when I hike. I must admit I wear the light kind, and the ones I have don’t have any of the fluffy inside you mentioned. You are lucky not having issues with your toes and blisters.
