One more thing, Josiah. I was an estate jewelry dealer for over 25 years. I had so much fun. I think you will make a great jeweler reseller. Don't bother with costume jewelry unless they are high-end brands. You don't have to be a gemologist but do go to jewelry/gemstone shows often and learn to look at the gemstones and different periods of jewelry. Read books on gemstones too. Get a good jeweler loupe and a gem tester. If you can, of course, go get some GIA certificates (diamonds, colored gemstones). Good luck on your future.
Good information Josian!! With all you do I don't know how you have time for Riding the bulls! lol Thank you for letting us know all you do there! God Bless you!
I’ve always liked Josiah’s quiet, calm manner. He’s the opposite of Jacob and Jimmy in that sense. 😉 It was really nice to hear him speaking freely today and I look forward to hearing more from him in the future. It’s obvious this quiet young man is observant, learning, and bright. Sometimes the quiet ones know a lot more than you think!
Great to hear from Joe! You truly are blessed with such great young men (and the whole staff) working for & with you. Love to see them on their journey. My first thoughts on him cage-fighting (having boys myself) was as a Mom thinking of the danger, but then I have always encouraged my kids to follow their heart & passions & you can see the passion he has for it. Let him fly! 💸
In a world where most men in that age group would rather play video games endlessly, we have a prime example of what can be gained in life by giving it your all. Josiah and Lucas both fit this description. Wonderful mentors for the future. ♥️
Josiah, I am so glad to hear that you are interested in Japan and its culture. It's a beautiful country so you should go visit it. I do recommend that you need to start learning a word a day - just a word or a phrase each day. Japanese hiragana and katakana (Japanese characters/alphabets) are easy to memorize so learn them too. Don't worry about learning Kanji (Chinese characters). By the way, have your own TH-cam Channel. I think you will be very popular and make some money on the side too. You can just talk about your business and your hobbies, etc.
Very impressed with Joe's thoughtful, articulate answers. Appreciated the specific examples he was able to give. Wasn't sure how rhe interview would go goven that he is not very talkative in daily videos. Keep up the good work!
I just had to come here to say that the envy I feel for the people who can come pick up the AMAZING LAMPSHADES in your auction this week is unmeasurable. I wish shipping wasn’t so expensive and that I lived closer!! Lucky people!!! 😭 ❤️
Great to hear from Joe! I wonder if he and Lucas will specialize in different aspects of the antique business? They will be a great team! When my brothers took over the family farm business, one knew everything about the animals and dairy production and the other knew all the machinery and crop production.
Josiah, so glad to hear about your interest and aspirations. I too really like Art Glass, I buy and resale but have trouble reselling locally. I currently sell on Ebay. Any suggestions for other selling platforms you've had luck with? Btw, I'm glad to have watched you this last year and the growth you've made. NO CageFighting!
You seemed nice and comfortable Joe, great to get to know you more. I’m watching you grow and learn more and more as time passes. Congratulations on this life plan 🎉🎉🎉❤
Jacob I wish you would do a segment on Royal Bonn Ansonia clocks...you know the gorgeous hand painted and pastel colored floral clocks. The cases were painted in Germany and sent to the Ansonia factory in New York to have the works installed. Each model or style had its own name like 'LaScala' or 'Bretagne' or whatever on its back side. They were all the craze about 1900. Teddy Roosevelt even had one! They made upwards of twenty case designs and most were a foot tall and fairly wide but are only avout 4 inches in depth. People who are serious collectors pay big bucks for them....white faces preferred with the open escapement brass rocker bar over the number twelve. They command more money than the plain models. I have about eight and never tire of their beauty. Ive seen some in bldg three on top of some showcases on the right side about halfway down the aisle. It would tickle me pink if you would do a ten minute show and tell....and show us what is available at the Heart. Silke might know something about the Royal Bonn porcelain factory since she is German. Ich Liebe die Heart! Penny in Paducah , Ky
Josiah, do you ever wonder what it would have been like to go to school instead of joining the antique business? You are right, there is no end to the knowledge of the arts that you will gain through the years.
Careful with the knees Joe, they have to last the rest of your life. In my 20's I was a ski instructor in Colorado for heli-skiing in heavy powder and Double Black Diamond runs, now at 68 I wish I would have taken it a little easier on myself. The knees are shot now. Stay safe!
I remember in the first videos how everyone was camera shy. Not the case these days. All of you there are Berners are devoted to your job. You all have come a long way. Congratulations!!! You all are Great!!! ❤😊❤
You can also get adrenaline from buying and selling. Hopefully, that will start to take priority over something as dangerous as cage fighting . I think working at BBA has helped you to grow and articulate in so many ways. You are an asset to the company and obviously a very hard worker. I think you boys should take the camera more often and go on some buying trips .
I enjoyed the interview with Josiah and hearing just exactly what his day at work involves. On the subject of gemstones, do you have a gem testing device available? It is a useful tool.
Way to go Josiah😉. Very nice talk learning more about you and your journey in the ❤️ business so far. Stay safe with your sport fighting and would love to see you shop a few items from the Heart vendors for reselling or your personal collection. Blessings to you always 🫶

Enjoyed the interview. Live life to the fullest so you won't look back and say I wish I did .......One day your body will say that's it.
Josiah, it's fantastic to have watched you grow in the industry this past year! What a pleasure it is to watch you succeed!!
Thank you for this interview with Joe. He’s a remarkable young man and it’s fun watching him learn and grow.

Who is this young man with a voice?!?! He said more in this video than all the time we've been watching 😂

What a nice guy Josiah is! Is he a Berner or a friend of Lucas's?
Let's go, Joe! I fully support you scrappin'. MMA Joe! ❤

Love you Joe! Keep growing and learning. And no, to the cage fighting!!!
Nice to hear more from Joe directly.
SO FUN to see Joe and Lucas blossom and really take on this business. Thanks for sharing.

Hello guys 😊😊
Josiah should consider , going to Gem school.
Awe this interview made me tear up. Perfect addition to Berners, you’ll go far!
Careful with the knees Joe, they have to last the rest of your life. In my 20's I was a ski instructor in Colorado for heli-skiing in heavy powder and Double Black Diamond runs, now at 68 I wish I would have taken it a little easier on myself. The knees are shot now. Stay safe!
Great interview! I also loved one on one contact sports when I was young. Go for it!

Josiah DON'T cage fight!!! 😮😊
Youll regret it when you hit 35yrs old
Josiah should have more screen time! But if he gets involved with cage fighting he’ll probably/most likely have to say goodbye to he’s teeth 🦷🦷🦷. 🎉🎉🎉
The mom in me says no to cage fighting…but in some way it doesn’t sound as aggressive as boxing!
Oh no... it's extremely aggressive with less rules than boxing !
Josiah get with Cathy Long, I've known her for several years
Why can't u have camera that take pics that someone does have to touch them again. Seems like a long process and taking extra staff?
I would love to know why he doesn’t go to gem school instead of Lucas since he is cataloging so much jewelry every wk
