Probably my fault. I use the heck out of this machine. Even commercially so it’s getting more wear than it should. If you do see any a steel pad helps a ton
Greetings! And thank you for the video on installing Auber PID in a Silvia. I’ve used a version 1 Silvia daily for 17 years and love my machine. I’m now in the planning stages to add PID to my Silvia and would appreciate your opinion. I’m not that interested in pre-infusion but willing to purchase the kit with pre-infusion for the benefit of the steam control. Do you find that controlling the steam with PID is beneficial? Also, can the pre-infusion be turned off (disabled) or set to 0 seconds to circumvent it’s use? Thanks for your consideration!
How’s it going with the PID i got mine long ago and would never have a Silvia without pid After getting the pid, it becomes apparent the wide temperature swings due to a small boiler that cools rapidly when brew is switched on There are arcane ways to compensate for this…. But only if you know what the temp in your boiler is via PID SEPARATELY, I have stopped tamping and only use an inexpensive distribution tool I find les problems with channeling…
I need to do a follow up video to show everyone. I don't know how I lived without it. The automation is great. Being able to set all the times and temps is a real plus.
Hi - I like your videos generally but have to say (as others have) that the audio mix with your voice so low, relative to the music, makes this one too hard for me to watch. Any chance you could re-release it with no music?
Unfortunately I had a hard drive crash on me not long ago and my old files are gone. I apologize. I've addressed some of the music volume issues in my later stuff but that doesn't help you for this video. Sorry again

The main difference is temperature control with any of the settings in PID. It's nice to be able to change those

Agree with Navy Chief B, get rid of the very annoying background music which makes it difficult to understand what you are saying.
This is just one of the things I have figured out along the way! You are absolutely right unfortunately I can't refilm this one now
