I have 7 Villoresi's at home (+few more samples). I love them all. I've got FBs of : Theseus, Sandalo, Patchouli, Vetiver, Atman Xaman, Alamut and Iperborea. I've got 5 more samples of the house. It's a wonderful underrated house. I've started my journey into the scent world with Theseus. It was my first niche perfume. Patchouli and Vetiver take about an hour to open up and become extraordinary. Really unique. They are medicinal/dirty in the start. Sandalo, Theseus and Atman Xaman are wonderful from the get go. Lorenzo Villoresi is one of the best Italian noses ever; and one of my favourite noses worldwide. Piper Nigrum is the scientific name of black pepper. I love all of his fragrances, and visited his shop and museum a few days ago.
@@RichMitch it is a very beautiful and high end (but not snobby at all) shop. Should you go to Florence, it would be my pleasure to give you some advice on what to visit and where to eat. I'm not from Florence, but I live in Tuscany and I go there quite often.
villoresi, parfum d'empire, divine (l'homme de coeur is very nice) are some of the most underrated and probably one of the few remaining truly niche houses, as opposed to most cash-grab "indie" ones that set absurd prices for their uncreative products, which are usually copies of successful fragrances from the past, but with a small twist.
I have an older bottle of Sandalo and a tester of the newer stuff, and they smell identical, only the vintage seems a bit stronger. But I’d be happy with either. Cool fragrance, to me it smells like a dusty antique shop, but in a really niche way. It’s good
@@RichMitch YES! I wait for the rest!!! I love wild lavender, musk, aura maris. All perfumes have character, identity, they convey something special to you. Besides Guerlain, Lorenzo Villoresi is the only house where I feel that perfumes are in accordance with the logic of my thinking and my state of mind. It feels like perfumes are not "thought" by a computer but created by a human being, you feel that touch when smelling them.
Great description. I feel like that too, perfumes do feel like they're made by computers these days. One of the reasons I like vintage perfume. I like these villoresi I've tried already, can't wait to see the rest
I just ordered 4 samples direct from the website in Italy for £26.. I smelled the Musk one years ago because Brad Pitt was meant to wear it.. Never smelled any of the others

The note listing on Piper nigrum is like an olfactive thesaurus to me. 😂 Is the mint comparable to Geranium pour Monsieur? Also, fennel/aniseed is very Italian to me. Love it.
@@RichMitch They seem top heavy to be fair. A lot of effort looks to be in the top note, with heavy citrus and some interesting notes such as aniseed and mint etc. Issue is, more you put into the top, the less space you have for the heart and drydown stages of the perfume. Hard balance. Sometimes it's nice to have a beautiful cologne-style Fragrance though that gives a beautiful topnote. Does the patchouli last? Or is that also fleeting? Cheers.
@@RichMitchI just took a look, $30 for shipping and it's missing the vintage collection scents which I was most interested in. You lucky ducks across the pond get all the good stuff huh 😅 Gonna keep my eye out on eBay and the like for them though. @@RichMitch I'm not 100% sure but it's In the "vintage collection" so in the clear bottle. Quite a bit going on in it but the showcase is sandalwood. Lots of rosewood, lavender, vetiver, opoponax and oakmoss.
@@RichMitch I didnt see myself wearing atman xaman. For some reason the only note I have incredible issues with is immortelle, pretty much no matter how well its blended...

Just one look at the notes in Piper Nigrum and I was like....f*** that's green. Gotta try that Atman Xaman. Props to Tom for the recommendation.

Atman Xaman is one of my favorites. (My other two faves from Villoresi are Sandalo and Ambra.)
I haven't smelled the Ambra yet, I can imagine it being pretty nice. I've really liked the quality of everything I've tried so far

It's very interesting scent, though. They're all fleeting though

I tried atman xaman and teint the neige. very high quality, but didnt buy any.
What stopped you from buying?
@@RichMitch I didnt see myself wearing atman xaman. For some reason the only note I have incredible issues with is immortelle, pretty much no matter how well its blended...
Immortelle is a strange note, a lot of people have trouble with it.
I have issues with tuberose, just can not tolerate it
