    I’m so happy listening to you talk about vintage perfumes. I’ve not bought too many vintage bottles on line but have come across many in second hand stores, estate sales, and even came across a hair salon that had just reopened after 25 years when the owner, an avid perfume collector and someone who sold perfumes in his salon had locked his shop up and left town. He recently passed away and his daughter inherit d the shop. She opened it up and put a picture of the perfumes for sale on one of those websites for used goods. I went immediately and bought about 7 bottles and had plans to return. Upon return, a week later, she had sold almost everything.
    I wish you were here then…if I encounter this again, I’ll reach out to you.
    Happy New Year to you!!

    Nice! I have a vintage bottle of Crabtree & Evelyn Extract Of Mysore which is my benchmark Mysore sandalwood fragrance that I compare others to. To my nose, The sandalwood in Sandalo smells extremely authentic and behaves similar to the sandalwood in Crabtree.
    Awesome score on that vintage Fahrenheit too mate! I have a few 1997 bottles. Within a year of owning, I went from being confused and slightly repulsed by it to thinking it’s possibly one of the 10 greatest men’s fragrances ever made. Truly niche and unique. My only contention is the name, color of the bottle and branding. After getting to know it, i find it to be an overwhelmingly green fragrance, nothing red or fiery about it. I did landscaping when I was younger and to my nose this smells Like fresh, wet cut grass stuck to a lawnmower that smells of oil and gasoline.
    It’s a magnificent work of art.

    So excited to see you with a vintage formulation of Fahrenheit. I wore this alot when it was first released in 1989. It was my equivalent to a young man's Sauvage today. That may be blasphemous to say but it was the case 30 plus years ago. Congrats and enjoy.

      Same here, got it on release and yes it was the 'Sauvage' of it's day. When it came out it was so different it was like going in to hyperdrive away from all the Paco Rabanne and Armani PH wearers. Great scent.

    • @TheAmosuno
      @TheAmosuno 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LEgoiste Yes indeed. It was such a departure from what was being released at that time or even a little bit before. Will it be crazy or possible that Sauvage in 30 plus years may have someone saying "they don't make em like this"?

    hello there i did find a fahrenheit sample in a street market in Paris with serial nr 5F324 and i think its from 1995 based on my research ...but the smell its strong in the bottle but on the skin opens a bit vinegary and becomes bitter and woody it goes away in 30 40 min i think its do to ageing...the only way to find out how this realy smelled in that days its to go to the Osmotheque de Versailles they keep everything there in good conditions

    • @RichMitch

    Rich, I got what I think is a vintage Fahrenheit (batch 4A01 with the curvy cap) so it should be a 2004 bottle.. im not certain of the autenticity of it due the the performance of it.. bottle is 200ml 85-90% FULL, but the longevity and projection are super weak... what is your performance experience on you Fahrenheit?

    • @RichMitch
      @RichMitch  ปีที่แล้ว

      It shouldn't be super weak regardless of age. There was a reformulation around that time and it was a very poor one compared to what went before.
