It’s called a hemiola actually, where the accent pattern ignores where the strong pulse of the beat is. Common thing to see in classical music or some metal, it’s insane to have him doing a hemiola flow like that. Blew my mind

The thing about Em for me these days is that even though he is objectively better from a technical standpoint than back in the day, I don't find the musicality of his tracks to be as consistent and enjoyable personally as I used to. His schemes and cadences are absolutely out of this world but for me it often seems to come at the expense of having a more enjoyable sound overall. Still a 🐐 though, no doubt.
