It is well worth a visit if you ever visit the North West of England Dave. Just 2 miles from Preston city centre. A museum also on site with many industrial locos on display and a busy workshop next door. Regards - Allan.
I do love these industrial steam locos. Thankfully we have quite a few preserved here in the UK at various heritage railways and a lot in good working order and condition. Regards from England - Allan. :-)
Thank you for watching and commenting Philip. It's a lovely day out at this railway and I am hoping to visit again in September again when I visit the North West. Best regards - Allan.
Thank you for watching Benjamin and what a very enjoyable steam gala it was. A fantastic place to see industrial steam locomotives and very well organised indeed. Ideal for all ages too and families. Well done to all involved. Best regards - Allan.
I was the fireman on Courageous on the Saturday and Grant Ritchie Sunday. It was good to see so many people visit and the weather behaved itself too...
Thank you Mike and a nice little railway that has many industrial steam locomotives on the site. I am pleased you enjoyed watching. Best regards from England - Allan. :-)
Thanks Jeff. A very interesting railway and lots of suitable photographic locations available along the full length of the line. The weather was fantastic and ideal for the visit. Cheers - Allan.
Excellent sequence of shots. I visited the Ribble steam line for the first time last year. Unfortunately the Sunday services were operated by a diesel shunter but it was worth the visit to view the large collection of industrial locos in the museum and workshops.
Thank you for your comments Stephen. It is a lovely heritage railway and they put on a great show with the industrial engines that were in steam. The museum and workshops are a great bonus to any any visit. Best regards - Allan.
It is well worth a visit Anthony if you get the chance. A nice museum packed with industrial steam locos too, plus a workshop with engines under repair and restoration. Thank you for watching. Regards - Allan.
Anthony, we have our second steam gala at the end of September. That will be well worth a visit. Also Furness Railway no.20 comes back at some point from May onwards as the boiler ticket runs out in August.
Thanks for watching and commenting Keith. Well worth a visit if you are in the North West any time and only 2 miles from Preston City Centre. Cheers - Allan. :-)
That must be quite a stiff gradient along the straight, and the raised bank gives some great views doesn't it . I like that not-at-all-a-Barclay,-oh-dear-me-no with the porthole cab windows.
Yes it is quite steep the gradient I believe and the raised bank is ideal to photograph and video the trains. It is probably safer too as there are a lot of cyclists who go a fair speed along the pathway. Thanks for viewing the video Andrei. Cheers - Allan.
Must admit I’ve never heard of this railway. Looks fascinating. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Dave.
