@@anatatar1 yeap. Had to create a completely new user on my mac. There was some kind of hidden system problem in my old user acc. But as soon as everything worked on the new, in the old, everything worked out too. (I hope that I explain clearly 😁)

did u ever find a fix for this? i have the same problem.... used to work, now icon not showing up at all, cant airplay from my mac. i do the above and click, and it appears then dissapears......did u get this resolved at all? would love to know... cheers
@@rolcaza mid 2015 MB Pro here, same issue. I've made an alias to the "fix" file on my Desktop, but same thing - it appears, shows me some Apple TVs, then disappears again :-(
@@sarahjobro No, I just made a Desktop alias to that Displays.Menu file and click on that if I need to find an Apple TV (which is very rare). I just did it then, and it worked for maybe a minute before dropping out again :-( And that's on 10.14.6
Kindly check which macOS version your running! From macOS X BigSur, apple removed Display.menu option, instead they are showing AirPlay in the control centre

You have to go to system preferences and uncheck the box that says "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available"

my mac seems to be looking for apple TVs exclusively. I want to use sidecar but it's not recognising it.

Same here trying to use sidecar. Have you fixed the problem? My airplay cannot even be turned 'on'. There is only an option of 'off' in the setting.

Looks like you didn't connected to any external displays.

i got it to display but i dont see my tv, its a vizio that supports chromecast it says make sure your ios device is on same wifi network and it is.
