Marker colors: NO Bleach; try rubbing alcohol -isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol). Crayons: NON SCRATCH Scotch-Brite Scour Pad(blue) with soap water Hydrogen peroxide & isopropanol available in CVS, wallgreens or grocery stores. Before trying any of these, try on a very small spot to make sure it works without damaging surfaces.

Please remove the microwave and put a quality stainless steel exhaust in place . Measure the stove. It should be 30 inch..Get a quality Proline exhaust with good suction. Then you will see ..whatever you cook, the oil and smell go away. Otherwise, you will go to work with curry smell, or you kid will have it in her jeacket.

Tips - about appliances - if it’s gone dirty, don’t clean that grill rack , or stove plates etc… just bring it with you and buy new ones. Why ? When you go to new home or apartment, use those “tried your best cleaned grill racks etc “ . But 2 pairs of new ones as soon as move into the new house . Store the new ones for future move . In that way “inflation” cost 😄 1 or 2 dollars won’t affect you much 😄. Try to clean the exhaust fan net in dishwasher every other day or daily. Clean the kitchen every day with Clorox or pine sole or steam heat etc . I have heard from an American friend long time back that if had drilled on the walls of apartments try to fill it with some tooth past 😆. But you use wall putty or whatever you feel comfortable with. I came to US around 1999 late august . By God’s grace I never faced anybserious problems. Yes , of course I faced ground floor people tapping on their ceiling but were very decent. We also tried our best to walk softly and ensured that when we move how tolerant people are . So again by God’s grace all went well till now . We purchased our home in 2007. All is well .

It is a real challenge to complete the process of handover of a house!!. Many surprises or rather shocks that may be financially exorbitant but in the end it would be over...Looking at the bright sight it gives a great peace of mind to be away from these and look forward to happier times. I suppose, many friends would have helped in the process and these are experiences in life in another country. Wish you all the best in the new home.

Well, if you have a strong case, you can get help from small claims court. Most of the States favor tenants. I have filed a case against my previous land lord (back in 2004) in TX and won a few hundred dollars. It is a lengthy process but with all the proof and truth on your side you could win the case. Congratulations on your new house. Hope you find time to make videos with all the never-ending chores around your house that is going to keep you busy like forever :)

from what you say, its bizzar, cleaning should not be on tenants, its a businees and these will be part of operating expense, chk it out with rent control board, they cannot this will not impact your credit score, as this is not a credit but a service fee. example let say you cleaned well still they can charge you saying it was not enough that is not a credit, it will go to collections and there is court systems to take care of these disputes. You should have seen a lawyer.
