Missed the premiere but I’m watching through it now including all the nice comments from people when it was live. I genuinely loved watching this because I am really curious about how people who feel like aren’t modular people, deal with Solderbox. Thank you so much for all the kind words Doug and I’m happy to see that you’re having fun! 💜💙🧡💛
Bram Bos makes incredible sounding synths. I have his Hilda Synthesizer and am still enjoying it while trying to learn how it works... so will wait a bit until trying SOLDERBOX. But it sounds incredible!
Hi Doug. I’ve been away from the ios music world for a VERY long time and I’ve only occasionally managed to surface on TH-cam. Thanks for bringing this to everyone’s attention. I love Jacob’s work and his collaborations with Bram are epic. Instant purchase for me just to hear the “sad siren” which I’ve have half an hour’s please already (just on toying with one preset). I’ll head over to Jakob’s channel tomorrow and congratulate him there. I hope you and Jo are keeping well and just in case I go back into hiding, I’m going to wish you both the very best for Christmas. Cheers for now. Lee.
Thanks for this, Doug. And for the best laugh I’ve had all day, when you said “there’s some lovely effects” and immediately hit one that sounded like the space time continuum ripping itself apart! 🤣
I always loved coming up with the wild, experimental soundscapes with Bram Bos original Semi-Modular plugin, Ripplemaker, but his new Semi-Modular is on another level. Solderbox is capable of some very gorgeous instrument patches, way more musically useful than I expected ...and at such a negligible DSP cost.
Heh! You should hear how we describe a shotgun that has had its barrel shortened by removing the excess with a saw…not something you should go saying in certain countries 😀 Anyhow, cool synth-sounds great and looks to be fun to play with.
I’m truly disappointed in this app. The sounds are very non musical, and require too much time to find a good sound. Maybe someone could create musical sounds that work in a recording or a song. I love the work that Jacob has done in the past, but this one does not do it for me. Just my opinion only,be well everybody.
We always need the "otherside", as non musical is cool for my synth desires. I can see though if you want a more normal synth, as this is nuts and I don't pretend to know what all the patching does. It's kinda meant for what some call sound effects or like idm or ambient electronic.. So it just got me thinking of the noise/bleeps vs melody and harmony in music. There is no musical battle but they are seemingly so far apart as well in taste. I love modular so this dream of wires and knobs. without the crazy mess haha.

Thanks man 😊, it’s really good fun, great for experimenting and exploring😊👍
This is truly amazing, and you can’t beat the price

I am impressed. Many modular cases are covered with this little box.

Cheers Lee, and I hope you and Lydia have an epic Christmas too🎄

Haha, Doug, the American pronunciation of ‘solder’ definitely made me raise an eyebrow or two too 🤣

Probably invented by the same people (aka creeeeechurs) who are proud of their I-deeeeees.
Fantastic
I love the generative aspects of this 😊
I NEED THIS SIR. GR8 VIDEO
You say solder, I say solder. Either way this is a great new collaboration.
Another great feature is the app's frugal memory hunger, under 9 MB! can't be stressed enough for owners of somewhat seasoned iPads! :))))
I agree, it’s a great app for many reasons.
It looks like it can create a lot of cool sounds, but slapping a huge reverb on can make anything sound good. Maybe a dry-run preset video?
Wonder if it’s smooth with breath though
This is 🔥
We are lucky it didn’t get called aluminiumbox
😂
It crashes in Logic Pro m4 iPad pro
We're already testing a fix for this. It seems to be very rare, so you've been quite unlucky. Once the fix is confirmed the update is going live asap.
@ big thanks I love the synth it’s cool and I can’t wait to use it
I rather say sohder than idear lol
