WOW!! The battering the crossings take is nothing short of awe inspiring. Even with reinforcements, it’s impressive how well they stand up to the abuse. 👍
Sweet! 22:50, the only thing better than an all NS coal drag, is an all NS High top coal drag! Marion never disappoints. Next time you head east, let me know. Marion is my main destination, I don't get there as often anymore, as I went back to work. Retirement was driving me crazy!
I would get fired for standing on the head of the rails with one foot much faster with two. Seriously, this is a FRA violation. As it was explained to me if you slip where would your head land? You have to ways to fall towards the far rail or away from it. That’s a fifty percent chance of knocking your block off. The railroad rules are written in blood.
Someone told me they are inspected everyday. They do a lot of maintaining of the NS/CSX diamonds. I believe there is more North/South NS traffic than on the north/south CSX line.
@@jonathanpringle8238 are you talking about the video of the MOW worker jumping back and forth as trains screamed by? That was from Germany (Or purported to be) and should not be confused with this well shot video
I worked for railroad when Ike came through. Power was out in most of the state. They needed generators at all the CP points. Signals were dark otherwise.

Cool getting to see the "behind the scenes" of railroading. If it wasn't for the folks that maintain the tracks, the trains wouldn't be running.
