I played baseball for Wichita State & faced Chris Sale 3 times in 2010 when he started against us at home. I got somewhat lucky my first AB & guessed correctly on an inside 2-seam fastball at 97 & squared up one of the hardest balls I'd ever hit over the 2nd baseman's head (he struck me out the next 2 times though with his slider). We scored 2 runs off him early & then he took over. It was honestly kind of cool to see all of the big league scouts there to watch him & putting up their radar guns in synchronicity lol.
There's no way to describe how unorthodox his pitching motion looks as a hitter. He looked like a tall bag of bones that was super herky-jerky but he was incredibly accurate & threw straight gas with lots of break on every.single.pitch.

I worked on his new house in Naples last year. He just said hes had some bad luck, and they basically shut him down to get healthy this year. Dude was super nice, he catered lunch alot, and I was probably one of the only ppl who knew who he was. Signed me a ball.

I find it remarkable he can almost reach triple digits with this low 3/4, almost sidearm release.

That's a wild fastball. I definately still want to see a 100 mph fastball on on of those ballistic gel skulls. 😂

He needs to relax before he’s on the DL for the next 3 years again

Patience is key. When I did my pre-season evaluations by crunching the aggregate numbers from all the reputable fantasy sources (via FantasyPros), he turned out to be the projected #17 SP for 2023 on an inning-per-inning basis. That lands him ahead of the likes of guys like Wheeler and Bieber. What I am concerned with most is his health. His stuff seems to be there and I believe he will round into form and ultimately end up with excellent stats should he avoid any injuries.

Lol until he gets mad and slams his pitching hand into something

Could someone confirm for me that his slider either looks slower or more curveball-ish? The nasty break is still there but there looks like there’s more hook than sweep. Am I wrong?

Looking good now if he can stay off the IL.

Bryce Miller is a great example of HEAT isn't needed for a 4seam. As long as the ball feels alive and breaks crazy. Your speed doesn't have to be 100mph

He needs to sign for 3 more years at rhe min an hopefully get a few good years out or that... as bad as he wants to earn it ..... just saying
For record i blame management for this not him
    .id sign it 2
But 2 years at min money at end would def help make up for missing better part of 4 years.... least he didnt waste bullets in rebuild lol
    I mean bridge years

You blame management for him continuously injuring himself by slamming his pitching hand into walls and such?
