This is a huge problem for Marisa this is one of the worst parts of her game that’s why I want cr.lp +6 on counter hit and stmp 6 frames it makes no sense how bad her defense is most of these characters are mashing -1 or -2 crouch jabs into 6 frame cr.mps or cancellable low forwards on block there’s so many things that are abusive in this game that she lacks
@@Hanytee Her high damage doesn’t compensate for all of the weaknesses she has. Obviously she’d be worse without the high damage or the armor, but that’s not really the point. She’s still among the weakest characters in the game, so obviously those strengths don’t match the weaknesses.
@@Hanyteehigh damage would matter more if this weren't a high damage game overall. Other characters can get high damage without the need for landing a bigger button as well and they get more openings. Her armor is good vs some characters but it's not hard for alot to play around.
Audio a little scuffed this time but, real shit. Having good reward off lights is only slightly less important than having a strike-invuln reversal imo. Having any defense that covers two offensive options is pretty strong (after switching to Bison, waking up in the corner makes me miss OD Gladius), as is being able to avoid fuzzy jab meaties, and a "I'll get punished for this but I'm getting the fuck out the corner" move is also pretty significant (Luke air Sandblast, Bison headstomp, Chun wall-jump, etc.). I'd still rate having a DP as probably the single strongest defensive option to add/remove for a character, but part of that is just how much it makes the other options stronger by establishing you'll just do it.
On both defense and offense for sure. It’s a strong defensive option because it punishes throws in a way that not many other defensive do. And it’s a strong offensive option because it can steal plus frames and punish things like delay tech as well.
I disagree with delaying your button, because it means the opponent can just mash buttons and take their turn. I'd rather meaty throw or frame trap, so the opponent has to take an active risk to deal with my options.
As a Dhalsim player I feel this too much. The change to drive reversal additionally punishing characters with clunkier lights and mediums only made this feel worse
Yup totally agreed. I finally decided to try out a "top tier" character with Bison and man... I can see why so many Marisa players are switching
Yeah, she has issues.
Yet another reason why Marisa needs buffs.
Genius !!
Thank you!
Been backdashing way too much recently and now I know to just "take the throw"

10 million percent. It’s completely ridiculous. They gave her these glaring weaknesses, but she doesn’t have the strengths to compensate.
@@ZachHenkeher high damage is the compensating factor. Multiple armored specials help also. Do you deny that?

Nice mate. This is a useful video

Agreed on all of this. Including the audio. I was honestly just talking too quietly.
I think divekicks are also a factor here

So what beats fuzzy jab if I'm on offense? Delaying my buttons?
Yeah, just set up a spacing trap.
Banger vid as usual

Yup. It’s terrible when you need to use a light to punish drive reversal when better characters get a medium.
Honestly, how the game is going, I don’t see why they really changed her so much from Vanilla. I didn’t think she was that busted to be nerfed heavily
