LEGO City Space is back better than ever in 2024, and to celebrate the recent return of the subtheme, I thought it would be appropriate today to take a look back at the history of LEGO City Space - while we all know and love LEGO's iconic space properties like Classic Space, Blacktron, M-tron, Space Police, Alien Conquest, Mars Mission, Life on Mars, Insectoids, and so many others, the realistic side of LEGO Space is often ignored.

Isn’t the latest city space theme the same as in the late 1970’s? In 1978, LEGO introduced Legoland space sets. Legoland was the name of the city/town theme at that time. This new space theme is very reminiscent of that.

6:07 this is why Richie had to rerelease this video folks. The 1995 space shuttle launch from launch command is my favourite civilian space set but I do like space port better. I don’t know why LEGO refuses to release civilian space and fantasy space at the same time besides 2011

Honestly i like this years attempts to have a cross-line space theming. Makes me wonder if we might have other attempts at cross-line synergy invoking classic lines, though i suppose a "year of castle" or "year of pirates" doesnt quite fit
